Abstract: Basing on studying the principle of active contour model and some solutions to it, a new partial optimal dynamic programming contour detection algorithm is presented and the results comparable to the dynamic programming algorithm are given. Experiment shows such new algorithm is much faster.

Abstract: Based on the gradual change of the image edge gray .a new redefinition of the region of the SUSAN (Small Univalue Segment Assimilating Nucleus )and a more efficient and simple method to compute it are suggested. And thus a new corner detection algorithm RSUSAN is proposed. The experiment shows that, compared with SUSAN and MIC.such algorithm is of simpler process,more rapid speed and more high veracity. In addition,in order to deal with the blurred and noisy image ,the way of combination of adaptive smoothing and such new algorithm is put forward,and the result of applying this adaptive RSUSAN corner detection algorithm to blurred and noisy image shows that it has similar numeration amount,but has better effect than SUSAN and MIC.
The Moving Object Detection Based on 2D Spatio-temporal Entropic Thresholding

Abstract: A method of moving object detection based on two dimensional(2D) spatio-temporal entropic thresholding is proposed in this paper. The characteristics of several common approaches for moving object detection are analyzed, and 2D entropic thresholding method is used to detect the structural region of the moving object.The 2D thresholding method is first deduced. A fast algorithm for entropic thresholding is put forward.The experimental results show that this method can be used to detect the moving object, and reduce the computational time efficiently.
A New Efficient Method for Calculation and Suppression of Simultaneous Switching Noise with the Time-Domain Impedance Function for High-Speed Circuit Design

Abstract: In this paper, a new method is proposed to calculate the simultaneous switching noise (SSN) in order to reduce the complexity of SSN circuit models and computational burden based on the rational function (RF) in time domain. The time-domain impedance function of a power delivery network (PDN) is calculated by approximating the impedance frequency response of a PDN with a rational function, and the SSN is calculated based on switching current characteristics. It is also found that the SSN can be suppressed through adjusting the period of time-domain impedance function and switching current. Compared with the results of lumped and distributed PDNs, the performance of the new method for calculating and suppressing the SSN is verified, and the simulation time of SSN is reduced effectively.

Abstract: The title compound, [Pt2(C16H11N2)2(C18H17N2P)](ClO4)2, contains two PtII atoms, bridged by an N-[(diphenylphosphino)methyl]pyridin-2-amine (dppmp) ligand. One Pt atom is coordinated by one P atom from the dppmp ligand, and one C atom and two N atoms from a 6-phenyl-2,2′-bipyridine (pbpy) ligand in a square-planar geometry. The other Pt atom is coordinated by one N atom from the dppmp ligand, and one C atom and two N atoms from another pbpy ligand in a square-planar geometry. There are intramolecular π–π interactions between the pbpy ligands, with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.62 (1) between two pyridyl rings. The oxygen atoms of both perchlorate anions are disordered, each over two different positions [occupanicies 0.49 (3)/0.51 (3) and 0.48 (2)/0.52 (2)].

Developing Technological Problem Solving Activities Based on a Functional Model

Abstract: This paper aimed to develop technological problem solving activities from a functional model. After discussing technological problem solving activities in junior high school technology textbooks, the main findings were: (1)A linear model of technological problem solving often served as the basis for those activities; (2)Less use of scaffolding was made to support student learning; (3)Less creative thinking skills were taught; (4)The importance of redesign was not emphasized; (5)The class discussion focused little on experiences and processes of technological problem solving. Based on textbook analysis and literature reviews, a functional model of technological problem solving was proposed. Then an exemplar of technological problem solving activities was designed accordingly.
The effect of demethylasterriquinone B-1 on insulin secretion in rat pancreas  [PDF]

Abstract:

A small nonpeptidyl compoud extracted from Pseudomassaria sp. was found to induce the activity of human insulin receptor tyrosine kinase in vitro. The compound was identified as demethylasterriquinone B-1 (DMAQ-B1). DMAQ- B1 also induced an increase in [Ca2+]i and insulin secretion in mice pancreatic beta-cells at low glucose (3 mM) concentration via insulin receptor substrate-1/phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3 kinase) pathway. By using rat pancreatic perfusion technique, we found that 10 μM DMAQ-B1 directly stimulated insulin secretion up to 240% in normal rat pancreas. In the dosage from 1 to 20 μM, DMAQ-B1 stimulated insulin secretion in a dose dependent manner. Furthermore, DMAQ-B1 enhanced glucose-induced insulin secretion by 17.6% (first stage) and 19.0% (second stage), respectively. The PI3 kinase inhibitors, LY 294002 (3.9 μM) or wortmannin (100 nM), inhibited DMAQ-B1-induced insulin secretion by 46.3% and 57.4%, respectively. LY 294002 or wortmannin also inhibited DMAQ-B1 with10 mMglucose-induced insulin secretion by 70.3% and 79.0%, respectively. All the results suggested that DMAQ-B1 directly stimulated insulin secretion and enhanced glucose-induced insulin secretion. The effect of DMAQ-B1 may mediate through the activation of PI3 kinase pathway to stimulate insulin secretion in normal rat pancreas.

Effect of apple production base on regional water cycle in Weibei upland of the Loess Plateau

Abstract: Weibei upland, located in southern part of the Loess Plateau, is a commercial apple production base in China. The enlargement of apple-planting area has a great impact on the regional water cycle. The effects of different land use on hydrological parameters are compared and studied in this paper. The main results are as follows: (1) The initial and steady infiltration rates in apple orchard are higher than those in other land use types such as grassland, idle land and farmland. Their initial rates of infiltration are 0.823 cm/min, 0.215 cm/min, 0.534 cm/min and 0.586 cm/min in apple orchard, grassland, idle land and farmland respectively. Their steady infiltration rates are 0.45 cm/min, 0.038 cm/min, 0.191 cm/min and 0.155 cm/min respectively. (2) There is no runoff generated in plot of apple orchard in all 8 storm events in observed natural rainfalls, while runoff is generated in winter wheat plot, corn plot and alfalfa plot with runoff coefficients of 2.39%, 1.58% and 0.31% respectively. (3) The transpiration of apple trees is strong and thus soil moisture is gradually depleted. The average soil water contents in 3-9 m soil profile in Changwu plots with apple trees of 14 and 32 years in age are 11.77% and 11.59% and in Luochuan plots with those of 15 and 28 years in age are 11.7% and 11.59% respectively, which are nearly 9.0% of wilting moisture of Changwu soil and 8.6% of wilting moisture of Luochuan soil. The pathway of rainfall percolating to groundwater is hindered by dry soil profile.
