Abstract: production and dissemination of information were optimized through the easiness of communication offered by the internet. scientific production increases day by day. focusing on the technological resources available for accessing scientific information, this paper aims to show the benefits of applying selective dissemination of information (sdi) in the education of health professionals based on an analysis of the website amedeo. we compare how the articles disseminated by amedeo can be accessed directly at the website or through a university library, in this case the library system of the unicamp. furthermore, we studied the literature for identifying relationships between information sciences and health sciences, mainly with regard to evidence-based medicine. finally, we present some suggestions directed to information professionals and teachers interested in identifying possibilities of using the resources offered by amedeo and other sdi services in university libraries, this way collaborating with the educational process of health professionals.

Abstract: the first report of philornis angustifrons and p. deceptiva infesting nests of suiriri affinis and s. islerorum in area of distrito federal's savanna is presented. it is known that larvae of these species have a strict relationship of parasitism with birds. the pupae were collected after the abandonment of the nests and the flies emerged in a period of about 13 days.

Abstract: O trabalho identifica três características que as Bibliotecas Digitais e o Ensino a Distancia têm em comum: uma proposta que rompe com a concep o de “espa o”, a suposta autonomia para aprendizagem e uma grande divergência conceitual em rela o aos termos. A discuss o central objetiva defender a inclus o de um profissional da informa o na equipe multidisciplinar de Ensino a Distancia. Este profissional, geralmente com forma o na área de Biblioteconomia exercerá o mesmo papel que o bibliotecário de referência exerce no ensino tradicional e poderá ser chamado de cibertecário. O estudo também aborda a quest o da autonomia na aprendizagem em ambientes virtuais e sua interferência na implanta o de bibliotecas nos projetos de EAD. As quest es éticas de informa o s o comentadas relacionando-se os servi os disponibilizados pelas bibliotecas tradicionais e Bibliotecas Digitais. The paper identifies three characteristics that Digital Libraries and Distance Learning have in common: a proposal that breaches with the conception of “physical place”, the supposed autonomy for learning and a great conceptual divergence in relation to terminology. The main objective is to defend the inclusion of a professional of information in the multidisciplinary team of Distance Learning. This professional, usually with a degree in Information Science will exert the same role the reference librarian exerts in traditional education and could be named as cyberlibrarian. The study also approaches the question of the autonomy in learning in virtual environments and its interference in the implantation of libraries in the Distance Learning projects. The ethical questions of information are commented listing the services offed by traditional and digital libraries. Abstract: small bowel tumors are rare, and the majority of symptomatic lesions are malign. benign tumors are a more frequent. both benig and maligmant mors are associated with difficult diagnosis, because of atipic abdominal complaints, common to a large variety of digestives affections. endoscopic and imaging examination may have diagnostic, but frequently are inconclusives. for primary tumors, the surgical resection is the treatment of choice, but for metastatic, tumors surgical resection has to be reserved for the cases complicated by obstruction, bleeding or perforation. this study has aim to analyse retrospectively 13 cases of small bowel maligns tumors in a period of 28 years. a higher incidence of primary tumors (69,2%), and linfomas (30,7%) were observed. among metastatic tumors, the adenocarcinoma was the most frequent (15,4%). segmental enterectomy was the most common surgical procedure (84,6%), and hospital mortality was 15,4%. survival rate within five years was zero for metastatic tumors, while for primary lesions was 44,4%, suggesting a better prognostis for primary lesions, independently from the histologic type of neoplasms.

Abstract: O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir a constitui o da língua de sinais como mediadora para a compreens o do português escrito para leitores surdos n o alfabetizados. Procuramos, neste trabalho, abordar a notícia, como unidade de texto que se constitui através de determinadas rela es como acontecimento da cidade. Enquanto projeto de busca de significado, a leitura de jornais em língua de sinais foi geradora de novas experiências para os leitores surdos, através da apropria o e transforma o de significados das notícias impressas, o leitor surdo se constitui autor e produtor de seu próprio texto. This article aims to discuss how sign language mediates the understanding of written Portuguese for deaf non-literate readers. In this paper, we discuss news matter as text unit, constituted by means of certain relationships between the deaf reader and events occurring in the environment. As a project which intends to seek meaning, reading the paper in sign language generated new experience for deaf readers, though the appropriation and transformation of meaning of printed news, deaf readers can become authors and producers of their own texts. Abstract: the history of nursing is a history of the art of care, which includes non-care experiences; thus it must be viewed as a history that is not yet united. the development of a specific field of epistemology, able to integrate sparse studies concerning history, nursing, and the art of care is an epistemological demand. the objective of this study is to present a proposition for a field of study for historical and historical-graphic studies of the art of care in brazil. the objective was achieved through the dialogue between explanatory history and interpretive methodology from willhelm guillerme dilthey's historical school. the sources used in this study arose from the developments of the author's master's thesis in nursing. the purpose of this study is to create and point out that historical review as a sub-field in the science of care in brazil is able to contextualize nursing and redefine its history, instituting education in care.
