Effect of Atmosphere on Volatile Emission Characteristic in Oxy-Fuel Combustion  [PDF]

A new type of power supply which was called oxy-fuel combustion power plant was introduced to reduce greenhouse gasses emission. In this paper the volatile emission characteristic of pulverized coal is studied under air atmosphere and oxy-fuel atmosphere. Combustion experiments of Datong bituminous coal were carried out in a wire mesh reactor at heating rates of 1 K/s, 10 K/s and 1000 K/s respectively under air and O2/CO2 atmosphere conditions in order to investigate the volatile emission characteristic. The concentrations of volatile (mainly CO and CH4) emission were on-line measured by infrared gas analyzer. It was indicated that the concentrations of CO and CH4 in O2/CO2 atmosphere were higher than those in air. The direct oxidation of carbon and gasification reaction between carbon and CO2 are the main causes of the increased amount of CO. The higher concentration of CO2 also results in the increased amount of CH4 in O2/CO2 conditions.

Abstract: Alone with the acceleration of human’s “Science and Technology Rejuvenation", more breakthrough has been made in the research of high-tech agriculture around the world. Therefore, Chinese agriculture not only needs to be generalized in all-dimensions with modern features, but also requires innovations in the new-born post-industry. The thesis summarized the current situation about Chinese modern agriculture combined with foreign experiments, so as to probe into the problems and relevant solutions in our modern agriculture practice. Key words: Modern Agriculture, Foreign Experiments, Enlightenment Résumé: Avec l’accélération du processus de renaissance technologique , le développement de la haute technologie agricole et les recherches scientifiques dans le monde entier ne cesse de faire de grandes percées. Dans ce contexte, l’agriculture chinoise fait face à une double mission : d’une part, généraliser sur tous les fronts l’agriculture moderne, de l’autre, procéder à des rénovations dans l’agriculture post-industrielle. Le présent article, en s’inspirant des expériences du modèle de développement de l’agriculture moderne des pays étrangers, établit le bilan du développement agricole de la Chine et explore ses problèmes et les contre-mesures. Defining and Evaluating Classification Algorithm for High-Dimensional Data Based on Latent Topics

Abstract: Automatic text categorization is one of the key techniques in information retrieval and the data mining field. The classification is usually time-consuming when the training dataset is large and high-dimensional. Many methods have been proposed to solve this problem, but few can achieve satisfactory efficiency. In this paper, we present a method which combines the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) algorithm and the Support Vector Machine (SVM). LDA is first used to generate reduced dimensional representation of topics as feature in VSM. It is able to reduce features dramatically but keeps the necessary semantic information. The Support Vector Machine (SVM) is then employed to classify the data based on the generated features. We evaluate the algorithm on 20 Newsgroups and Reuters-21578 datasets, respectively. The experimental results show that the classification based on our proposed LDA+SVM model achieves high performance in terms of precision, recall and F1 measure. Further, it can achieve this within a much shorter time-frame. Our process improves greatly upon the previous work in this field and displays strong potential to achieve a streamlined classification process for a wide range of applications.
Thermodynamic Measurements in a Strongly Interacting Fermi Gas

Abstract: We conduct a series of measurements on the thermodynamic properties of an optically-trapped strongly interacting Fermi gas, including the energy $E$, entropy $S$, and sound velocity $c$. Our model-independent measurements of $E$ and $S$ enable a precision study of the finite temperature thermodynamics. The $E(S)$ data are directly compared to several recent predictions. The temperature in both the superfluid and normal fluid regime is obtained from the fundamental thermodynamic relation $T=\partial E/\partial S$ by parameterizing the $E(S)$ data. Our $E(S)$ data are also used to experimentally calibrate the endpoint temperatures obtained for adiabatic sweeps of the magnetic field between the ideal and strongly interacting regimes. This enables the first experimental calibration of the temperature scale used in experiments on fermionic pair condensation. Our calibration shows that the ideal gas temperature measured for the onset of pair condensation corresponds closely to the critical temperature estimated in the strongly interacting regime from the fits to our $E(S)$ data. The results are in very good agreement with recent predictions. Finally, using universal thermodynamic relations, we estimate the chemical potential and heat capacity of the trapped gas from the $E(S)$ data.

Abstract: This paper analyzes the characteristics of power system on electric propulsion ship. The mathematical model and simulation model of diesel engine PID speed control system and synchronous generator’s AVR+PSS excitation control system was built. At last the simulation test of suddenly add load was did in MATLAB/simulink environment. The result shows that the speed control and excitation control system has well stability, rapidity and some robustness.
A Folded Slot Antenna with Pre-Etched Cavity and Bcb Support Membrane on Silicon Wafer

Abstract: This letter demonstrates a technique for a folded slot antenna fabricated on low resistive silicon wafer, using pre-etched cavity and Benzocyclobutene (BCB) support membrane. The most distinctive feature of this method is that a cavity is pre-etched before the antenna fabrication process using low-cost potassium hydroxide (KOH) wet etching. BCB membrane is employed to support the antenna above the cavity for its low permittivity as well as excellent thermal and mechanical stability. The fabrication process discussed in detail and the fabricated antenna was characterized. Experimental results show that the antenna resonates at 15.4 GHz with a very wide impedance bandwidth, up to 14.6%.
Observation of a quenched moment of inertia in a rotating strongly interacting Fermi gas

Abstract: We make a model-independent measurement of the moment of inertia of a rotating, expanding strongly-interacting Fermi gas. Quenching of the moment of inertia is observed for energies both below and above the superfluid transition. This shows that a strongly interacting Fermi gas with angular momentum can support irrotational flow in both the superfluid and collisional normal fluid regimes.
Evaluation of Reverse Transcription Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification assays for Rapid Detection of Human Enterovirus 71 and Coxsackievirus A16 in Clinical Samples  [PDF]

Abstract: A sensitive reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) assay for human enterovirus 71 (EV71) and Coxsackievirus A16 (CVA16) infection was further evaluated. The one step reaction was performed in a single tube at 65?C for 45 min for EV71 and 35 min for CVA16. The detection limits of RT-LAMP assays for both EV71 and CVA16 were 0.1 of a 50% tissue culture infective dose (TCID50) per reaction, based on 10—Fold dilutions of a titrated EV71 or CVA16 strain. The specific assay showed there were no cross-reactions with Coxsackievirus A (CVA) viruses (CVA 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 10, 14, and 25), Coxsackievirus B (CVB) viruses (CVB 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) or ECHO viruses (ECHO 3, 6, 11, and 19). In parallel with commercial quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) diagnostic kits for EV71 and CVA16, the RT-LAMP assay was evaluated with 515 clinical specimens, the results showed the RT-LAMP assay and the qRT-PCR assay were in complete agreement for 513/515 (99.6%) of the specimens. Two samples with discrepant results from two methods were further verified by nested reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (nRT-PCR) assay and sequencing to be true positives for CVA16. In conclusion, RT-LAMP assay is demonstrated to be a sensitive and specific assay and have a great potential for the rapid and visual screening of EV71 and CVA16 in China, especially in those resource-limited hospitals and rural clinics of provincial and municipal regions.
Effects of the Anodic Alumina Substrate Fabrication Process on a Ta-N Thin Film Integrated Resistor

Abstract: A Ta-N thin film resistor was integrated in anodic alumina MCM-D substrate using RF reactive sputtering.The effects of the aluminum anodization process on the microstructure of the Ta-N resistor were studied.The results show that the oxide bulges composed of Ta2O5 and Ta-O-N were formed at the surface of Ta-N film due to the effect of the upper layer of porous anodic alumina.The oxide bulge thickness was related to the anodiztion voltage.The resistivity and TCR of the remaining Ta-N resistor remained unchanged.The resistor was more stable because of the protection of the oxide bulges.
