The Chemical Composition and Energy Density in Hemiculter lcucisculus with Different Body Size

Abstract: To discover the variation of body chemical composition with the increasing body size in Heniculter lcucisculus, 42 specimens of this fish whose length and body weight(W) ranged 85-125 mm and 5.63-12.89 g respectively are collected from Yangtze River in October, 2007, and divided into 4 groups according to the body length. Chemical compositions are measured and energy density is estimated. The results show that the contents of water(WAT), protein (PRO),lipid(FAT)and ash (represented by percentage of them in fresh body weight of fish, respectively) ranged 70.24% -76.77%、14.6%-18.85%、1.92%-8.75% and 3.06%-4.30%,respectively. The energy density(E) rangs 4.55-7.45kJ/g. With the increasing body size FAT and E increase, while WAT decrease. The contents of ash vary erratically.FAT and E are all significantly correlated positively with W, and the regression equations are:FAT=0.45W-1.34(r2=0.58,n=21,p<0.05)and E=0.21+2.97(r2=0.67,n=21,p<0.05)respectively. The contents of lipid and energy density are all significantly correlated negatively with the contents of water, and the regression equations are:FAT=73.00-0.92WAT(r2=0.92,n=21,p<0.05) and E=35.92-0.41WAT(r2=0.95,n=21,p<0.05).The results suggest that the contents of lipid and engrgy density of Hemiculter lcucisculus can be estimated by the contents of water or body size. The lower content and slow accumulation of lipid with the increasing body sizein this fish may be resulted from its acclimazationto the still water environment.
Conformal invariance and conserved quantities of Appell systems under second-class Mei symmetry

Abstract: We propose a new concept of the conformal invariance and the conserved quantities for holonomic systems with quasi-coordinates. A one-parameter infinitesimal transformation group and its infinitesimal transformation vector of generators for holonomic systems with quasi-coordinates are described in detail. The conformal factor in the determining equations of the Lie symmetry is found. The necessary and sufficient conditions of conformal invariance, which are simultaneously of Lie symmetry, are given. The conformal invariance may lead to corresponding Hojman conserved quantities when the conformal invariance satisfies some conditions. Finally, an illustration example is introduced to demonstrate the application of the result.

Abstract: This paper proposes a new concept of the conformal invariance and the conserved quantities for Birkhoff systems under second-class Mei symmetry. The definition about conformal invariance of Birkhoff systems under second-class Mei symmetry is given. The conformal factor in the determining equations is found. The relationship between Birkhoff system's conformal invariance and second-class Mei symmetry are discussed. The necessary and sufficient conditions of conformal invariance, which are simultaneously of second-class symmetry, are given. And Birkhoff system's conformal invariance may lead to corresponding Mei conserved quantities, which is deduced directly from the second-class Mei symmetry when the conformal invariance satisfies some conditions. Lastly, an example is provided to illustrate the application of the result.
Chemical Composition and Energy Density in Coreius heterodon

Abstract: 31 specimens of Coreius heterodon with body length(L) and body weight(W) rangingrespectively 9.2-32.0 cm and 11.3-504.0 g were collected from Mudong, Yangtze River in September,2007. The fish were divided into 4 groups according to the body length. Chemical compositions were measured and energy density was estimated. The results showed that the contents of ash(ASH), protein(PRO), liid(FAT) and water (WAT), represented by percentages of them in fresh body weight of fish, ranged 2.35%-5.20%,13.79-19.69%, 1.24%-19.32% and 61.63-80.69% respectively. The energy density(E) ranged 4.02-11.39 kj·g-1.The relationship between FAT or E and W could be described as :*and *. The relationship between FAT or E and WAT could be described as:FAT=80.03-1.01WAT (R2=0.926,P<0.01)and E=37.6-0.43 WAT (R2=0.963,P<0.01).The results suggest that the content of lipid and energy density of Coreius heterodon can be estimated bybody weight or the water content.The high lipid content in the larger fish is supposed to be correlated with its breeding activity.(* Indicates a formula, please see the full text)

Abstract: 从含Cu氧化物材料Cu—O面准二维特性出发,在二维双弧子模型基础上,考虑到具有强烈各向异性的Cu—O面上存在电子-声子局域强耦合效应,从理论上对两个准粒子与局域形变声子场相互作用形成双孤子束缚态的过程进行了探讨.给出了具有周期性的双孤子解.对两个准粒子的配对能、双孤子的有效质量、双孤子的稳定性以及它们与非各向同性的关系做了详细的分析.

Abstract: 已有研究表明,肉食性鱼类对饲料碳水化合物(CHO)利用较差1,2,摄食过高水平CHO饲料后,鱼体血糖持续偏高3,4],造成代谢负荷(Metabolism burden)加重4],导致鱼体的生长率和饲料效率降低 5,6],损害肝脏功能7],影响鱼体的免疫力8].另一些研究则发现,在大西洋鲑(Salmo salar)和虹鳟(Oncorhynchus mykiss)等肉食性鱼类的饲料中添加一定水平的CHO可以提高生长率、饲料效率和蛋白质效率9,10],提示这些肉食性鱼类可能在一定程度上适应CHO营养条件.
Global exponential stability for distributed parameter systems with varying time-delay

Abstract: Based on the comparison principle,the global exponential stability for a class of sliding mode equations rising in distributed parameter control system with varying time-delay is investigated by using general vector Hanalay's differential inequality,Dini's derivative,Green formulation,and technique of inequality analysis.Under the conditions that the coefficient of distributed parameter system is an M-matrix,sufficient conditions are derived for global exponential stability for the sliding mode equations with varying time-delay and several theorems of the global exponential stability for the sliding mode equations are established.It is shown that the estimates obtained from the Hanalay-type inequalities improve the estimates obtained from Lyapunov methods.Some previous works are improved.The results on the global exponential stability of the distributed parameter control systems with varying time-delay provide the theoretical foundation for the variable structure control problem of the distributed parameter systems.

Abstract: A new robust control method is put forward which is not similar to existing methods for the uncertain distributed parameter control systems with constant time-delay or varying time-delay.By constructing even-type Lyapunov functions,employing linear matrix inequality(LMI),a number of sufficient conditions for these types of stabilization are derived.For the case of constant time-delay,the obtained stabilization criteria are delay-independent.For the case of varying time-delay,the proposed stabilization criteria are delay-dependent.In addition,the distinct advantage of the proposed method is that the criteria can be easily checked.Finally,a computation example is given to illustrate the proposed method.
From neurodevelopment to neurodegeneration: the interaction of neurofibromin and valosin-containing protein/p97 in regulation of dendritic spine formation

Abstract: Neurons are highly differentiated cells composed of several specialized subcellular structures, including soma, dendrites, axon, and numerous synapses. All of these structures play specific roles in signal transduction between or within neurons. Besides dendrites and axons, dendritic spines are particularly interesting structures, which are the tiny protrusions (~0.5-1 μm in width and ~1-2 μm in length) extending from dendrites. The majority of excitatory synapses in the mammalian nervous system are localized at the tips of dendritic spines [1]. Morphology and density of dendritic spines are controlled by genetic program, neuronal activity, and environmental insults. Indeed, defects of neural development leading to alterations of neuronal morphology are associated with many neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders, including mental retardation, learning disability, autism, attention-deficient hyperactivity disorder, and schizophrenia [2,3]. On the other hand, impairment in maintenance of neuronal morphology is also frequently found in neurodegenerative disorders. For instance, synaptic loss has been suggested as a cause of dementia [4-6]. This review will focus on an example showing that neurodegeneration may be relevant with neurodevelopment in terms of regulation of neuronal morphology. It is regarding a recent finding of the interaction between neurofibromin and valosin-containing protein (VCP).Neurofibromin, the protein product of the neurofibromatosis type I (NF1) gene, regulates the formation of dendritic spines [7], which explains at least partially why patients with NF1 suffer from cognitive defects. Recently, we further identified that VCP/p97 interacts with neurofibromin and demonstrated that VCP/p97 also controls dendritic spinogenesis of neurons [8].
