Relationship between light and heavy fractions of organic matter for several agricultural soils in China

Abstract: Although numerous studies about the nature and turnover of soil organic matter(SOM) in light and heavy fractions(LFOM and HFOM, respectively) have been made, little information is available in relation to the relationship between LFOM and HFOM, and no attempts have been made to quantify a general relationship between LFOM and HFOM for agricultural soils under field condition. Our hypothesis is there may be an inherent relationship between LFOM and HFOM for agricultural soils under certain unaltered management practices for a long period, to this end, we therefore studied typically soils taken from different parts in China by using a simple density fractionation procedure. The results indicated that LFOM was positively correlated with LFOM/HFOM ratio for three typical soils. This information will be of particular use not only in deepening our understanding of the dynamics of SOM fractions but also in evaluating the potential of agricultural soils to sequestrate C under different management practices in a long term.
Natural Gas Exploration Using Carbon Isotopic Fractionation Effect: A Case Study of Shanxi Formation, Upper Palaeozoic Group in the Center of Ordos Basin, China

Abstract: Carbon isotopic fractionation would occur during the process of natural gas generation and migration. As for ‘self-generating and self-preserving’ tight sandstone gas reservoir, carbon isotope better keeps the current maturity and migration results. In this paper, three local hydrocarbon generation centers and two relatively lower permeability zones were determined from the study area and it is suggested that natural gas migrated roughly from south to north direction through the analysis of carbon isotope isoline. Thus, we predict three favorable exploration areas using natural gas storage index combined with above isotopic results.
On Semantic and Syntactical Selective Constraints among Multiple Words in Context

Abstract: The semantic and syntactical selective constraints among multiple words in context are surveyed. Main types of selective constraints in context are: selective constraint between immediate constitutes, the one among multiple words in the same sentence, the one among multiple words in different sentences and that between words and situational factors. And they are further grouped into different categories. The knowledge of these selective constraints must be used in syntactical analysis of natural language processing for disambiguation. Keywords: context, multiple words, selective constraints, disambiguation Résumé Cet essai travaille sur les relations sélectives et contraignantes des expressions dans le texte sous l’angle sémantique et syntaxique. Les principales sélections et contraintes des expressions viennent des mots voisins, du troisième mot de la même phrase, du troisième mot d’une autre phrase, du contexte, etc. L’auteur fait une classification de ces sélections et contraintes. On doit recourir aux sélections et contraintes de différents niveux pour éliminer les interprétations différentes dans l’analyse syntaxique. Abstract: 目的 测量喙锁韧带相关解剖学数据,为肩锁关节脱位手术中完全解剖重建喙锁韧带提供必要的解剖学依据。方法 15具(30肩)成人尸体标本,分别标记斜方韧带和锥状韧带锁骨止点中心,测量韧带锁骨止点中心与锁骨骨性标志的相关解剖学数据。结果 斜方韧带锁骨止点中心与锁骨远端、前缘、后缘的距离分别为(21.87±1.12)mm(19.8~24.0 mm)、(6.34±0.45)mm(5.5~7.2 mm)、(20.47±1.02)mm(18.9~22.1 mm);锥状韧带锁骨止点中心与锁骨远端、前缘、后缘的距离分别为(36.69±0.92)mm(35.0~38.5 mm)、(15.71±0.56)mm(14.8~17.0 mm)、(5.53±0.39)mm(5.0~6.3 mm)。结论 喙锁韧带锁骨止点中心与骨性标志的距离的测量,将有利于术者行肩锁关节脱位手术时完全解剖重建喙锁韧带。
: Objective To measure anatomic data of the coracoclavicular ligaments and provide necessary anatomic evidence for complete anatomic reconstruction of coracoclavicular ligaments for surgical treatment of dislocation of acromioclavicular joint. Methods A total of 15 adult cadavers (30 shoulders) were selected. The centers of trapezoid ligament and conoid ligament on the clavicle were marked and anatomic data between centers and bone landmarks on the clavicle was measured. Results The distances from the center of trapezoid ligament on the clavicle to the lateral end, anterior border, and posterior border of clavicle were (21.87±1.12) mm (19.8-24.0 mm), (6.34±0.45) mm (5.5-7.2 mm), and (20.47±1.02) mm (18.9-22.1 mm), respectively. The distances from the center of conoid ligament on the clavicle to the lateral end, anterior border, and posterior border of clavicle were (36.69±0.92) mm (35.0-38.5 mm), (15.71±0.56) mm (14.8-17.0 mm), and (5.53±0.39) mm (5.0-6.3 mm), respectively. Conclusion Measurement of the distances between centers of trapezoid ligament and conoid ligament on the clavicle and bone landmarks is helpful for complete anatomic reconstruction of coracoclavicular ligaments for surgical treatment of dislocation of acromioclavicular joint
Dynamical tunneling-assisted coupling of high-Q deformed microcavities using a free-space beam

Abstract: We investigate the efficient free-space excitation of high-Q resonance modes in deformed microcavities via dynamical tunneling-assisted coupling. A quantum scattering theory is employed to study the free-space transmission properties, and it is found that the transmission includes the contribution from (1) the off-resonance background and (2) the on-resonance modulation, corresponding to the absence and presence of high-Q modes, respectively. The theory predicts asymmetric Fano-like resonances around high-Q modes in background transmission spectra, which are in good agreement with our recent experimental results. Dynamical tunneling across Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser tori is further studied, which plays an essential role in the Fano-like resonance. This efficient free-space coupling holds potential advantages in simplifying experimental condition and exciting high-Q modes in higher-index-material microcavities.
Microstructure evolution and nucleation mechanism of Inconel 601H alloy welds by vibration-assisted GTAW

Abstract: Nickel-based alloys exhibit excellent high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance; however, because of coarse grains and severe segregation in their welding joints, these alloys exhibit increased susceptibility to hot cracking. In this paper, to improve the hot-cracking resistance and mechanical properties of nickel-based alloy welded joints, sodium thiosulfate was used to simulate crystallization, enabling the nucleation mechanism under mechanical vibration to be investigated. On the basis of the results, the grain refinement mechanism during the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) of Inconel 601H alloy under various vibration modes and parameters was investigated. Compared with the GTAW process, the low-frequency mechanical vibration processes resulted in substantial grain refinement effects in the welds; thus, a higher hardness distribution was also achieved under the vibration conditions. In addition, the γ' phase exhibited a dispersed distribution and segregation was improved in the welded joints with vibration assistance. The results demonstrated that the generation of free crystals caused by vibration in the nucleation stage was the main mechanism of grain refinement. Also, fine equiaxed grains and a dispersed γ' phase were found to improve the grain-boundary strength and reduce the segregation, contributing to preventing the initiation of welding hot cracking in nickel-based alloys.
Histone deacetylase inhibitor, butyrate, attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury in mice

Abstract: To investigate the protective effect of butyrate, a HDAC inhibitor, on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury (ALI) in mice.ALI was induced in Balb/c mice by intratracheally instillation of LPS (1 mg/kg). Before 1 hour of LPS administration, the mice received butyrate (10 mg/kg) orally. The animals in each group were sacrificed at different time point after LPS administration. Pulmonary histological changes were evaluated by hematoxylin-eosin stain and lung wet/dry weight ratios were observed. Concentrations of interleukin (IL)-1β and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and concentrations of nitric oxide (NO) and myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity in lung tissue homogenates were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Expression of nuclear factor (NF)-κB p65 in cytoplasm and nucleus was determined by Western blot analysis respectively.Pretreatment with butyrate led to significant attenuation of LPS induced evident lung histopathological changes, alveolar hemorrhage, and neutrophils infiltration with evidence of reduced MPO activity. The lung wet/dry weight ratios, as an index of lung edema, were reduced by butyrate administration. Butyrate also repressed the production of TNF-α, IL-1β and NO. Furthermore, the expression of NF-κB p65 in nucleus was markedly suppressed by butyrate pretreatment.Butyrate had a protective effect on LPS-induced ALI, which may be related to its effect on suppression of inflammatory cytokines production and NF-κB activation.Acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) are well defined and readily recognised clinical disorders caused by many clinical insults to the lung or because of predispositions to lung injury [1]. Abstract: Application of seismic attribute in subtle traps exploration makes most of seismic information, and seismic attribute analysis is a key of application of attribute in subtle traps exploration. The new method for seismic attribute analysis colligates information of seismic, logs and geology by crossplot and broadcast and cluster with the methodology of science instead of analysis with handcraft and eyeballing. With the method, seismic attribute analysis plays an important role in subtle traps exploration.

Abstract: Lithological inversion is a key technique to predict lithological reservoir,log constrained lithological inversion aims at predicting reservoir and identifying lithology of target bed by integrating high vertical resolution and continuous tracing stratigraphic information of lateral seismic data together.This article makes an analysis on constrained lithological inversion focusing on the following 4 techniques: well log data processing,reservoir fine calibration,characteristics curve reconstruction and initial model constructing.
