A study on environmental aridity over northern and southern to Qinling Mountains under climate warming

Abstract: Based on the data up to 1999 from hydroclimatological departments, this paper analyzes the climatic divide implications of the Qinling Mountains in regional response to the process of climate warming, due to which the grades of dryness/wetness (GDW) in 100 years show that the northern region has entered a drought period, while the southern is a humid period. In a course of ten years, the D-value of annual average air temperature over southern Shaanxi (the Hanjiang Valley) and the Central Shaanxi Plain (the Guanzhong Plain) has narrowed, i.e., the former with a slight change and the latter with rapid increase in temperature. Both regions were arid with the decrease in precipitation D-value, namely the plain became warmer while the south was drier. The Qinling Mountains play a pronounced role in the climatic divide. The runoff coefficient (RC) of the Weihe River decreases synchronously with that of the Hanjiang due to climate warming. The RC of Weihe dropped from 0.2 in the 1950s to less than 0.1 in the 1990s. The Weihe Valley (the Guanzhong Plain) is practically an arid area due to shortage of water. The successive 0.5, 1.0 oC temperature anomaly over China marks, perhaps, the important transition period in which the environment becomes more vulnerable than before.The study shows the obvious trend of environmental aridity, which is of help to the understanding of regional response to global climate change.

Abstract: Land is the all-important resource and material basis for human survival and development. The special importance of land under new developmental situations has determined the unique position of land resource disciplines in resource sciences. With unceasing intensification of land resource supply and demand contradiction, land resource development, consolidation and optimal use allocation have become increasingly complex. This has necessitated urgent needs for strengthened comprehensive research on China's limited land resources. Recently, significant progress has been made in land resources research in China. The areas of land resources investigation, land use planning, land consolidation, land use sustainability, optimal land resources allocation, land use intensiveness, land resources security and ecological use have all been extensively studied. The current study has, however, mainly focused on macro concepts, theories, strategic, typical or microscopic cases and modes analyses. Studies dealing with comprehensive analysis of land resources and inter-disciplinary/integrated studies of land resources in China remained insufficient. The paper analyzed new progresses of land resources research; evaluated and investigated development strategies, targets and ken trends in land resources disciplines regarding the socio-economic development of China; predicted research tendencies and key issues of land resources in China so as to propose concrete suggestions and countermeasures. It was indicated that research findings called for multi-disciplinary studies of land resources in China, improvements in land engineering and technological innovation, supportive land consolidation, planning and design, and explorative mechanisms of future land use livelihoods.
Structural patterns of land types and optimal allocation of land use in Qinling Mountains

Abstract: The case study based on Qinling Mountains in Shaanxi Province of China, in virtue of the information from TM image, classifies the land types and analyzes their spatial and temporal differential law, and puts forward three structural patterns of land types in mountainous areas, namely, spatial, quantitative and qualitative structures of mountainous land types. Furthermore, it has been noticed that the analysis of structural patterns can disclose the heterogeneity and orderliness of combination of land types, which can lay the theoretic foundation for comprehensively recognizing ecological characteristics and succession law of structure and function of land types. After the all-around comparative analysis, an optimal allocation of land use in Qinling Mountains has been put forward according to the principle of sustainable development and landscape ecology, which can lay the scientific foundation in practice for the structural adjustment and distribution optimization from the macro level to micro level.

Abstract: Based on the analysis of the constituent factors, hierarchical structure and fun ctionary mechanism of regional land use system,the paper gives a systematic stud y of the optimal principles and objectives of land use system by using the theor y and methodology of system science.The land use system,in which four aspects re lated to optimal objective regulation including reasonability of land quantitati ve structure,the equilibrium of land spatial layout,the relative stable way of l adn use and sustainability of land use,is regarded as an open and multi hierarc hical interrelated system.According to the above discussed,the hierarchical stru cture models and structure function ones of optimal regulation of land use syst em are built.Viewing from the integrated coordination objectives of regional lan d resources system and norms of sustainable development,four types of models of the optimal regulation of regional land use system, namely, main economic benefi t, sustainable coordination, main body interaction and advancement, and suitable matching are put forward. Finally, taking Yueqin city as an example, based on c lassification of land use types, the optimal planning of land use system are adv anced using models of linear programmes and in accordance with the norms of the best economic benefit and sustainable land use.

Abstract: 土地资源学是研究土地资源的形成与演变过程、分类与分布规律、数量与质量评价,以及土地资源开发、利用、保护与管理的一门综合性学科。近些年来,我国在土地调查、土地评价、土地整理、土地可持续利用、土地利用规划与资源战略、土地利用优化配置与集约利用、土地资源安全与生态友好型土地利用模式等专业领域取得了显著进展。论文着重分析土地资源学科研究的新进展,对近年来我国土地资源学科最新成果及其在国民经济与社会发展中的应用、成效和前景进行评析,对我国土地资源学科发展趋势进行展望,提出新时期土地资源学研究的主要方向和重点领域。

Abstract: 21世纪前期是中国工业化、城市化迅速推进的重要时期,也是中国走向国际贸易一体化和进入社会经济持续发展的关键时期。未来人口持续增长与消费水平的提高、工业化与城市化进程的加快、全球贸易一体化格局的形成、国内体制和制度的转型,使中国人地矛盾更趋尖锐、市场竞争空前激烈,这无疑对中国农业生产的资源基础和农产品的供需平衡产生巨大影响,进而影响到中国食物安全。论文重点分析了我国水土资源态势及其对可持续食物安全的影响,指出水土资源总量短缺及其空间上的不匹配状况将直接影响着中国可持续食物安全,到2030年中国粮食缺口可能在760×108kg左右;实现中国可持续食物安全应立足21世纪中国农业与农村经济的可持续发展,重点选择产业化、生态化、国际化和地区专业化的发展方向与模式,并须在优化制度环境、完善保障体系和突破结构制约等几个方面进行深化改革与创新。

Abstract: Tongchuan is a typical mining city located in west China. During the past 50 years, heavy industries, especially resources-intensive industries, have contributed a lot to Tongchuan's economic development. Nowadays, however, it is confronted with a lot of issues, such as resources scarcity, environment pollution and low economic efficiency and so on. Thus, industrial structure adjustment and reconstruction of new engine for economic development within this region are becoming critical issues to be solved. After discussing the characteristics and problems of Tongchuan City at present, it is argued that the factors resulting in difficulties confronted with Tongchuan City involve more than simply the shortage of natural resources. Instead, the shortage of human resources and the lack of institutional innovation are the two critical points. Furthermore, the strategies and policy implications for Tongchuan's industrial structure reconstruction are presented, in terms of regional competitiveness and sustainable development.

Abstract: 全球气候呈现变暖的趋势, 对农业生产和粮食安全产生重大影响, 并成为当今全球环境变化关注的热点问题之一。本文采用文献综述与比较研究的方法, 系统分析了气候变化对光资源、温度、土壤质量和水环境等农业生产要素的影响机理, 探讨了气候变化对我国作物种植区域和种植制度、农作物病虫害、农业生产能力以及农业经济与管理等方面的实际影响, 通过梳理国外应对气候变化的主要农业战略, 提出新时期我国应对气候变化的农业可持续发展策略。
