Abstract: This paper presents the performance and characteristics of new-type sulfur tolerant shift catalyst QDB-04 and its industrial side-line test as well as the first-time industrial application in Lunan Chemical Fertilizer Plant of Shandong in China. The results show that the catalyst has high strength and strength stability, good low temperature activity and stability as well as low potassium bleeding ratio which well meet for the requirements of the methanol plant on catalyst performance in Lunan Chemical Fertilizer Plant.
A novel method of DNA shuffling without PCR process

Abstract: Most DNA shuffling methods currently used require PCR process. A novel method of DNA shuffling without PCR process is described, taking advantage of the feature of some restriction enzymes whose recognition sites differ from their cleavage sites, thus giving rise to different cohesive ends. These cohesive ends can be rejoined at their native sites from different parental sequences, generating new sequences with various combinations of mutations.
Clinical Efficacy of Including Capecitabine in Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

Abstract: Background Capecitabine has proven effective as a chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer. Though several Phase II/III studies of capecitabine as neoadjuvant chemotherapy have been conducted, the results still remain inconsistent. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to obtain more precise understanding of the role of capecitabine in neoadjuvant chemotherapy for breast cancer patients. Methods The electronic database PubMed and online abstracts from ASCO and SABCS were searched to identify randomized clinical trials comparing neoadjuvant chemotherapy with or without capecitabine in early/operable breast cancer patients without distant metastasis. Risk ratios were used to estimate the association between capecitabine in neoadjuvant chemotherapy and various efficacy outcomes. Fixed- or random-effect models were adopted to pool data in RevMan 5.1. Results Five studies were included in the meta-analysis. Neoadjuvant use of capecitabine with anthracycline and/or taxane based therapy was not associated with significant improvement in clinical outcomes including: pathologic complete response in breast (pCR; RR = 1.10, 95% CI 0.87–1.40, p = 0.43), pCR in breast tumor and nodes (tnpCR RR = 0.99, 95% CI 0.83–1.18, p = 0.90), overall response rate (ORR; RR = 1.00, 95% CI 0.94–1.07, p = 0.93), or breast-conserving surgery (BCS; RR = 0.98, 95% CI 0.93–1.04, p = 0.49). Conclusions Neoadjuvant treatment of breast cancer involving capecitabine did not significantly improve pCR, tnpCR, BCS or ORR. Thus adding capecitabine to neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimes is unlikely to improve outcomes in breast cancer patients without distant metastasis. Further research is required to establish the condition that capecitabine may be useful in breast cancer neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
Antiproliferative activity and apoptosis-inducing mechanism of constituents from Toona sinensis on human cancer cells

Abstract: In the present study, we investigated the antitumor efficacy of the compounds isolated from Toona sinensis, an important herbal medicine. The inhibitory activities of these compounds were investigated on MGC-803, PC3, A549, MCF-7, and NIH3T3 cells in vitro by MTT assay. The mechanism of the antitumor action of active compounds was investigated through AO/EB staining, Hoechst 33258 staining, TUNEL assay, flow cytometry analysis, and western blotting analysis.Fifteen compounds were isolated from the roots of Toona sinensis. Betulonic acid (BTA) and 3-oxours-12-en-28-oic acid (OEA) isolated from the plant inhibited the proliferation of MGC-803 and PC3 cells, with IC50 values of 17.7 muM and 13.6 muM, 26.5 muM and 21.9 muM, respectively. Both could lead to cell apoptosis, and apoptosis ratios reached 27.3% and 24.5% in MGC-803 cells at 72 h after treatment at 20 muM, respectively. Moreover, the study of cancer cell apoptotic signaling pathway indicated that both of them could induce cancer cell apoptosis through the mitochondrial pathway, involving the expressions of p53, Bax, caspase 9 and caspase 3.The study shows that most of the compounds obtained from Toona sinensis could inhibit the growth of human cancer cells. Furthermore, BTA and OEA exhibited potent antitumor activities via induction of cancer cell apoptosis.

Abstract: There were various problems in the determination of oil acid value of the national standard method, and this paper developed a low cost, simple and effective way to determine the acid value of oil and grease. Furthermore, the esterification of high acid Euphorbia lathyris L. oil (ELO) with methanol could be efficiently catalyzed by hydrochloric acid to produce biodiesel, and the influencing factors such as the amount of catalyst, reaction time, reaction temperature and molar ratio of oil to methanol were also studied. Under the optimized conditions with the oil to methanol molar ratio of 1:30 and a reaction temperature of 70, 95.8% oil conversion was obtained within 40 min in the presence of only 2.0 wt% of catalyst. Therefore, the low-cost non-edible Euphorbia lathyris L. oil as a raw material had good potential for the synthesis of biodiesel in industry.
Structure-Function Analysis of Barley NLR Immune Receptor MLA10 Reveals Its Cell Compartment Specific Activity in Cell Death and Disease Resistance

Abstract: Plant intracellular immune receptors comprise a large number of multi-domain proteins resembling animal NOD-like receptors (NLRs). Plant NLRs typically recognize isolate-specific pathogen-derived effectors, encoded by avirulence (AVR) genes, and trigger defense responses often associated with localized host cell death. The barley MLA gene is polymorphic in nature and encodes NLRs of the coiled-coil (CC)-NB-LRR type that each detects a cognate isolate-specific effector of the barley powdery mildew fungus. We report the systematic analyses of MLA10 activity in disease resistance and cell death signaling in barley and Nicotiana benthamiana. MLA10 CC domain-triggered cell death is regulated by highly conserved motifs in the CC and the NB-ARC domains and by the C-terminal LRR of the receptor. Enforced MLA10 subcellular localization, by tagging with a nuclear localization sequence (NLS) or a nuclear export sequence (NES), shows that MLA10 activity in cell death signaling is suppressed in the nucleus but enhanced in the cytoplasm. By contrast, nuclear localized MLA10 is sufficient to mediate disease resistance against powdery mildew fungus. MLA10 retention in the cytoplasm was achieved through attachment of a glucocorticoid receptor hormone-binding domain (GR), by which we reinforced the role of cytoplasmic MLA10 in cell death signaling. Together with our data showing an essential and sufficient nuclear MLA10 activity in disease resistance, this suggests a bifurcation of MLA10-triggered cell death and disease resistance signaling in a compartment-dependent manner.

Abstract: pEHT9 was constructed from pUR528, and used for the construction of plant thaumatin expression vector pBIT7. Then pBIT7 was introduced to Agrobacterium through direct transformation. Subsequently tobacco was transformed through Agrobacterium -mediated system. It has been confirmed that thaumatin gene has integrated into the genome of transgenic tobacco by PCR, PCR-Southern and Southern blot analyses.

Abstract: 利用面板的加速度响应反求出面板所受的载荷力时间历程,首先,开展测力墙面板在台车冲击载荷下的试验,建立有限元仿真模型得获得一条初始的载荷力时间曲线,然后在满足仿真与实验的测力面板加速度响应差异最小的目标下,采用遗传迭代算法优化反求出作用在测力面板的一条最优的力时间曲线。最后通过试验验证,说明采用反求方法获得的测力板所受的载荷具有较好的适用性,该方法可以推广到测量铁路车辆的用组合式测力墙测量大吨位碰撞力。
In this paper, the acceleration response of the panel is used to calculate the time history of the load on the panels. Firstly, a test on the load wall panels is carried out under car’s impact load, and gain an initial load time curve by means of finite element simulation. And then under the condition that the acceleration response of the force panel is the least difference between simulation and experiment, an optimal force time curve is obtained by using the genetic iterative algorithm. Finally the validation of test illustrates that the reverse method to measure the load on board has good applicability, this method can be applied to measure collision force of large tonnage of railway vehicle by the combined load wall

Abstract: The behaviour of hydrogen permeation and diffusion in amorphous alloy Ni68Cr7Si8B14Fe3 hasbeen investigated by an ultrahigh vacuum gas permeation technique. A comparison experimentwas carried out between the as-quenched and annealed States (400℃/2h) of the amorphousalloy. The results show that, for both states of the amorphous alloy in the temperature rangeof 200~350℃, the diffusivity and permeability of hydrogen are in agreement with Arrheniusrelationship, there does not exist H-trapping effect, and the activation energies of diffusion andpermeation almost keep the same.
