Abstract: The volatile oils were extracted from inflorescences of Capillipedium assimile (Steud.) A. Camus by means of the steam distillation. Forty-five compounds were identified from the oils by GC-MS analysis, accounting for 93.24% of the total volatile oils. The main constituents were 4-undecanone (18.52%), (E)-2-hexenyl hexanoate (8.042%), 4-nonanol (7.778%), 4-undecanol (7.265%), and heptyl hexanoate (6.787%), etc.

Abstract: The nylon bag method was used to study the dynamic effects of the eight tropical leguminous green manure applications on the pH value of latosol. The results showed that pH increased after green manure application and the best effect of decreasing soil acidity all appeared in the initial two months after the application of green manures. The higher ash alkalinity content, the better to decrease the soil acidity, NH4+-N content and soil pH changed in the similar tendency.

Abstract: Nine compounds were isolated from the ethanolic extract from the whole plant of Elephantopus tomentosus Linn. On the basis of spectral data, their structures were identified as epifriedelanol (1), lupeol (2), 6-deoxyisojacreubin (3), butulinic acid (4), ursolic acid (5), ferulic acid (6), 3-formylindole (7), pinellic acid (8) and 30-oxo-lupeol (9), respectively. All compounds were obtained from Elephantopus tomentosus for the first time. Compounds 6 and 7 had inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus, as well as compounds 6 and 8 exhibited inhibitory effects on Ralstonia solanacearum by paper disk diffusion method.

Abstract: In the title zwitterionic molecule, C11H9N3O4, the imidazole and pyridine rings form a dihedral angle of 2.60 (2)°. An intramolecular O—H...O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, pairs of N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into inversion dimers. Weak intermolecular C—H...O interactions further consolidate the crystal packing.
Perfusion CT findings in liver of patients with tumor during chemotherapy

Abstract: AIM: To investigate the microcirculation changes in liver of patients with tumor during chemotherapy by perfusion computed tomography (CT).METHODS: Sixty patients with tumor and 20 controls were enrolled in this study. Perfusion CT parameters of patients and controls were compared, including hepatic perfusion index (HPI), mean transit time (MTT), and permeability-surface area product (PS). Correlation between perfusion CT parameters, treatment cycle and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) level was studied.RESULTS: No difference was found in HPI (25.68% ± 7.38% vs 26.82% ± 5.13%), MTT (19.67 ± 5.68 s vs 21.70 ± 5.43 s) and PS (17.00 ± 4.56 mL/100 mL per min vs 19.92 ± 6.35 mL/100 mL per min) between patients and controls. The HPI and MTT were significantly higher in patients undergoing 2 cycles of chemotherapy than in controls and those undergoing 1 cycle of chemotherapy (29.76% ± 5.87% vs 25.68% ± 7.38% and 25.35% ± 4.05%, and 25.61 ± 5.01 s vs 19.67 ± 5.68 s and 19.74 ± 4.54 s, respectively, P < 0.05). The HPI was higher in patients with hepatic steatosis than in controls and those without hepatic steatosis (30.85% ± 6.17% vs 25.68% ± 7.38% and 25.70% ± 4.24%, P < 0.05). Treatment cycle was well correlated with HPI and MTT (r = 0.40, r = 0.50, P < 0.01). ALT level was not correlated with perfusion CT parameters.CONCLUSION: HPI and MTT are significantly increased in patients with tumor during chemotherapy and well correlated with treatment cycle. Chemotherapy affects hepatic microcirculation in patients with tumor. Changes in hepatic microcirculation can be quantitatively assessed by perfusion CT.
The Minimally Invasive Effect of Breast Approach Endoscopic Thyroidectomy: An Expert's Experience

Abstract: We evaluated the invasiveness of breast approach endoscopic thyroidectomy (BAET) carried out by surgeon very experienced in this procedure. Twenty-four patients who underwent BAET and 19 patients who underwent conventional thyroidectomy were the study population. Postoperative pain was assessed by a visual analog scale (VAS). The values 2, 12, and 24 h after surgery were significantly lower in the BAET group than those in the conventional group. Serum IL-6 and CRP levels were measured by an ELISA preoperatively and at 2, 12, 24 and 48 h after operation. Their values increased significantly after both procedures when compared to preoperative levels with significant differences between the two groups detected at the 24-hour and 48-hour time points. Subjective and objective evidence supported the notion that BAET could become a minimally invasive procedure if the surgeon gained sufficient experience.

Abstract: In order to exploit multi-user diversity gain and spatial multiplexing gain for multi-user MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) system with spatial correlation-aided Ricean fading channel, a joint multi-user precoding and scheduling algorithm is proposed based on partial Channel State Information (CSI). Utilizing partial instantaneous CSI and statistical CSI for all users, the Base Station (BS) estimates the channel for each user using Constrained Maximum Likelihood (CML) approach, and then schedules a group of users with optimal precoding using the estimated channels. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme greatly improves system throughput with a bit of feedback overhead.

Abstract: With the rapidly development of Internet , XML has become the new standard for data representation and exchange. More and more applications cannot run smoothly without XML, such as Web Service, MPEG7 etc. Currently querying XML data mostly relies on XPath, and it's difficult for us to build a general index structure for XML data because of the complexity of any query. After introducing some typical indices for XML data and analyzing their merits and drawbacks at length, this paper does a classification of XPath and subsequently offers appropriate index for each of them.

Abstract: Fast searches and query operations in high dimensional databases require efficient index structures. Among a variety of index structures, the index structures in metric spaces are very useful. They can be used in an extensive field, such as searching for protein molecular chains with certain sequences in Computational Biology and matching a given strings fuzzily in Text Retrieval. In this paper, the features of index structures in metric spaces are analyzed and subsequently a further classification is given to these index structures. Finally, some representative index structures are introduced in detail.
