The System Size Distribution for M/G/1 Queueing System under N-Policy with Startup/Closedown  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper develops a new method for calculating the system size distribution on two different M/G/1 queueing system under N-policy with general startup/closedown. Firstly, the stochastic decomposition property is used to derive the p.g.f. of the system size distribution. By the Leibniz formula of derivation, we investigate the additional system size distribution, and then, we get the recursion expression of system sizes distribution. Finally, several examples are given for illustrating the application of the recursion expression and sensitivity analysis is also performed.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to propose some diagnostic methods in stochastic restricted linear regression models. A review of stochastic restricted linear regression models is given. For the model, this paper studies the method and application of the diagnostic mostly. Firstly, review the estimators of this model. Secondly, show that the case deletion model is equivalent to the mean shift outlier model for diagnostic purpose. Then, some diagnostic statistics are given. At last, example is given to illustrate our results.

Abstract: The ascomata and mycorrhizae of Tuber indicum s.l. were collected under the forest of broad-leaf species Populus yunnanensis and Quercus pannosa in the field respectively. The symbiotic relationships of both trees with T. indicum were examined and affirmed based on morphology and ITS-rDNA sequences. These two mycorrhizal combinations were successfully produced on artificially controlled substrates and cultural condition. This is the first report of a mycorrhizal association and synthesis between Chinese black truffles and poplars. A hyphal net covering the mantle’s surface of the mycorrhizae was detected in both mycorrhizal combinations. The mycorrhizal colonization of P. yunnanensis and Q. pannosa suggests that T. indicum s.l. has a broader host range and that additional corresponding wood species would be used as candidates for the cultivation of T. indicum. The nuclear-ITS sequences of the mycorrhizae included in the phylogeny of the T. indicum complex revealed that the two clades within the complex do not markedly differ with respect to their preferences for host species or geographical origin. Our results help to explain the wide distribution of both clades of the T. indicum

Abstract: Compared with previous studies, this article, from a dynamic perspective, considers the graduates’ expectations for corporate responsibility (CR) and employee responsibility (ER) as virtual psychological contract (PC), and deems the differences between responsibility expectation (RE) and responsibility fulfillment (RF) as psychological contract breach (PCB), for exploring empirically the differences in graduates’ perception about PC before and after entering into the workplace, and discussing thoroughly the influence path that PCB acts on job satisfaction (JS) and turnover intention (TI). The results manifest that there are some prominent discrepancies in the cognition about PC, which maybe directly induce graduates’ quit. In addition, under the intermediary role of JS, various dimensions of PCB have totally different impacts on TI.
A Parallel Processing Method for Moving Top-K Spatial Keyword Query  [PDF]

Abstract: We propose an influential set based moving k keyword query processing model, which avoids the shortcoming of safe region-based approaches that the update cost and update frequency cannot be optimized simultaneously. Based on the model, we design a parallel query processing method and a parallel validation method for multicore processing platforms. The time complexity of the algorithms is O((log|D|+p.k)/p.k)?and O(log p.k), respectively, which are all O(1/k) times the time complexity of the state-of-the-art method. The experiment result confirms the superiority of our algorithms over the state-of-the-art method.

Abstract: Electromagnetic nondestructive tests are important and widely used within the field of nondestructive evaluation (NDE). The recent advances in sensing technology, hardware and software development dedicated to imaging and image processing, and material sciences have greatly expanded the application fields, sophisticated the systems design and made the potential of electromagnetic NDE imaging seemingly unlimited. This review provides a comprehensive summary of research works on electromagnetic imaging methods for NDE applications, followed by the summary and discussions on future directions.
Resonant tunneling properties of photonic crystals consisting of single-negative materials

Abstract: We studied the resonant tunneling properties of one-dimensional photonic crystals consisting of single-negative permittivity and single-negative permeability media using transfer matrix methods. The results show that there exists a pair of resonant tunneling modes in this structure. The separation of the pair of tunneling modes can be tuned by varying the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers or the thickness of the defect layer. The electric field intensity of the resonant tunneling modes increases rapidly with the increase of the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers. The peak value of the field intensity of the resonant tunneling modes is enhanced by one order of magnitude when the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers increases by 0.4. This property will be applied widely in the field of nonlinearity optics. With the increase of the ratio of thicknesses of the two single-negative layers, the electric field of the tunneling modes becomes more localized, and the full width at half maximum of the tunneling modes becomes narrower. Besides, the pair of tunneling modes is insensitive to incident angle and thickness fluctuation. These properties will be used for the design of tunable omnidirectional double-channel filter with high quality factor.
Progress of the research methodologies on the temporal and spatial process of LUCC

Abstract: After one decade of development, the methods to explore the temporal and spatial process of LUCC (Land Use and Land Cover Change) have been vastly improved; and in some sense a methodology framework used to study the temporal and spatial process is being rapidly developed. The methodology framework is based on the integration of the classical theories of Geography and the recent developed technologies of remote sensing and GIS, which is a new research field to meet the need for scientific information to promote the studies on global change adaptation and sustainable development. It addressed the following: the detection and description of the temporal and spatial process of LUCC, analysis of driving mechanism of LUCC, simulation of LUCC process and evaluation of ecological effect due to LUCC. The formation of methodology framework to study the temporal and spatial process of LUCC, to some extent, has been promoted to tackle the hard-nut topics in science through interdisciplinary efforts among geography, GIS and macro-ecology. The domestic and overseas research trends indicate that the development of detection and analytical technologies of remote sensing information and the methodological innovation of simulating the temporal and spatial process of LUCC, play an important role in promoting the development of methodology framework of the temporal and spatial process of LUCC. The synthetic application of the detection and analytical technologies of LUCC remote sensing information, the construction of multi-source and temporal-spatial data platform and the realization of massive data availability and integration are all kernel components of the methodology framework of the temporal and spatial process of LUCC. We can expect that the research methods system of the temporal and spatial process of LUCC will play a more important role in guiding the research activities of LUCC processes at regional and global levels.
