Natural Science (NS) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ns.2012.42021
Abstract: As a difficult problem, sidewall instability has been beset drilling workers all the time. Not only does it cause huge economic losses, but also it determines the success or failure of drilling engineering. Due to complex relationship between various factors which influence sidewall stability, it hasn’t been found a widely applied method to predicate sidewall stability so far. Therefore, in order to formulate corresponding measures to ensure successful drilling, searching for a kind of better method to forecast sidewall stability before drilling becomes an imperative and significant topic for drilling engineering. On the basis of traditional sidewall stability analytical method, we have put forward the Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method to forecast sidewall stability regulation using physico-chemical performance parameters of the clay mineral. This method has been improved by introducing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Maximum Subjection Principle in the application process. After introducing Analytic Hierarchy Process to identify weight, and Maximum Subjection Principle to obtain evaluation results, it has reduced the influence of human factors and enhanced the accuracy of the fuzzy evaluation results. The application in Hailaer Area indicates that this method can predict sidewall stability of gas-oil well with high credibility and strong practicability.

Bin Zheng, Xiqiang Liu
Advances in Pure Mathematics (APM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/apm.2013.31020

For the (2 + 1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup system, we study the corresponding Lie symmetry groups, and obtain the symmetry group theorem and the Backlund transformation formula of solutions finding. At the same time, we find some new exact solutions of the (2 + 1)-dimensional Broer-Kaup system and extend the results in the papers [1-4].

Open Journal of Applied Sciences (OJAppS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ojapps.2013.31B1008

This paper researches trajectory controllability of semilinear differential evolution equations with impulses and delay. The main techniques in our paper rely on the fixed point theorem and monotone operator theory. In the end of the paper, an example is given to explain our main result.

Using Chou’s Pseudo Amino Acid Composition for Protein Remote Homology Detection  [PDF]

Engineering (ENG) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/eng.2013.510B032

Protein remote homology detection is a key problem in bioinformatics. Currently, the discriminative methods, such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), can achieve the best performance. The most efficient approach to improve the performance of the SVM-based methods is to find a general protein representation method that is able to convert proteins with different lengths into fixed length vectors and captures the different properties of the proteins for the discrimination. The bottleneck of designing the protein representation method is that native proteins have different lengths. Motivated by the success of the pseudo amino acid composition (PseAAC) proposed by Chou, we applied this approach for protein remote homology detection. Some new indices derived from the amino acid index (AAIndex) database are incorporated into the PseAAC to improve the generalization ability of this method. Our experiments on a well-known benchmark show this method achieves superior or comparable performance with current state-of-the-art methods.

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) , 2009, DOI: 10.4236/wsn.2009.13020
Abstract: Data dissemination is an important application in vehicular networks. We observe that messages in vehicular networks are usually subject to both time and space constraints, and therefore should be disseminated during a specified duration and within a specific coverage. Since vehicles are moving in and out of a region, dis-semination of a message should be repeated to achieve reliability. However, the reliable dissemination for some messages might be at the cost of unreliable or even no chance of dissemination for other messages, which raises tradeoffs between reliability and fairness. In this paper, we study the scheduling of data dis-semination in vehicular networks with mesh infrastructure. Firstly, we propose performance metrics for both reliability and fairness. Factors on both the time and space dimensions are incorporated in the reliability met-ric and the fairness in both network-wide and Mesh Roadside Unit-wise (MRU-wise) senses are considered in the fairness metric. Secondly, we propose several scheduling algorithms: one reliability-oriented algorithm, one fairness-oriented algorithm and three hybrid schemes. Finally, we perform extensive evaluation work to quantitatively analyze different scheduling algorithms. Our evaluation results show that 1) hybrid schemes outperform reliability-oriented and fairness-oriented algorithms in the sense of overall efficiency and 2) dif-ferent algorithms have quite different characteristics on reliability and fairness.
Study on the Stochastic Chance-Constrained Fuzzy Programming Model and Algorithm for Wagon Flow Scheduling in Railway Bureau
Bin Liu
Mathematical Problems in Engineering , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/602153
Abstract: The wagon flow scheduling plays a very important role in transportation activities in railway bureau. However, it is difficult to implement in the actual decision-making process of wagon flow scheduling that compiled under certain environment, because of the interferences of uncertain information, such as train arrival time, train classify time, train assemble time, and flexible train-size limitation. Based on existing research results, considering the stochasticity of all kinds of train operation time and fuzziness of train-size limitation of the departure train, aimed at maximizing the satisfaction of departure train-size limitation and minimizing the wagon residence time at railway station, a stochastic chance-constrained fuzzy multiobjective model for flexible wagon flow scheduling problem is established in this paper. Moreover, a hybrid intelligent algorithm based on ant colony optimization (ACO) and genetic algorithm (GA) is also provided to solve this model. Finally, the rationality and effectiveness of the model and algorithm are verified through a numerical example, and the results prove that the accuracy of the train work plan could be improved by the model and algorithm; consequently, it has a good robustness and operability.

Acta Crystallographica Section E , 2011, DOI: 10.1107/s1600536811050628
Abstract: In the title complex, {[Cu(C11H8N2O)2](BF4)2}n, the CuII ion is situated on an inversion centre and adopts an N4F2 octahedral coordination geometry with four N atoms from four different bis(pyridin-3-yl)methanone ligands at the equatorial sites and two independent tetrafluoridoborate anions weakly bonded at the axial sites via two F atoms [Cu...F = 2.613 (3) ]. Chains with the bridging ligands are formed along the a axis. C—H...F interactions stabilize the structure. C—O...π interactions also occur.
A Semi-Supervised Clustering Method For P2P Traffic Classification
Bin Liu
Journal of Networks , 2011, DOI: 10.4304/jnw.6.3.424-431
Abstract: In the last years, the use of P2P applications has increased significantly and currently they represent a significant portion of the Internet traffic. In consequence of this growth, P2P traffic identification and classification are becoming increasingly important for network administrators and designers. However, this classification was not simple. Nowadays, P2P applications explicitly tried to camouflage the original traffic in an attempt to go undetected. This paper present a methodology and selection of three P2P traffic metrics
Spin-resolved impurity resonance states in electron-doped cuprate superconductors

Physics , 2008, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevB.79.172501
Abstract: With the aim at understanding the non-monotonic $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$-wave gap, we analyze the local electronic structure near impurities in the electron-doped cuprate superconductors. We find that the local density of states near a non-magnetic impurity in the scenario of $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$-wave superconductivity with higher harmonics is qualitatively different from that obtained from the $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$-wave superconductivity coexisting with antiferromagnetic spin density wave order. We propose that spin-polarized scanning tunneling microscopy measurements can distinguish the two scenarios and shed light on the real physical origin of a non-monotonic $d_{x^{2}-y^{2}}$-wave gap.
