An Efficient Way of Frequent Embedded Subtree Mining on Biological Data

Abstract: Data mining provides biological research a useful information analyzing tool. The key factors which influence the performance of biological data mining approaches are the large-scale of biological data and the high similarities among patterns mined. In this paper, we present an efficient algorithm named IRTM for mining frequent subtrees embedded in biological data. We also advance a string encoding method for representing the trees, and a scope-list for extending all substrings for frequency test. The IRTM algorithm adopts vertically mining approach, and uses some pruning techniques to further reduce the computational time and space cost. Experimental results show that IRTM algorithm can achieve significantly performance improvement over previous works.

With the shift from cloud-computing architecture to integrated system management and with continuing requests for lower costs, data centers are developing in the direction of automated management, which has made data center system management software increasingly important. System management software mainly provides functions like environmental monitoring, automatic control, energy monitoring, which can help data centers with integrated management and maintenance conveniently.
A Parallel Algorithm for Gene Expressing Data Biclustering

Abstract: Biclustering of the gene expressing data is an important task in bioinformatics. By clustering the gene expressing data obtained under different experimental conditions, function and regulatory elements of the gene sequence can be analyzed and recognized. A parallel biclustering algorithm for gene expressing data is presented. Based on the anti-monotones property of the quality of the data sets with their sizes, the algorithm starts from the data sets containing of all the 2*2 submatrices of the gene expressing data matrix, and gets the final biclusters by gradually adding columns and rows on the data sets. Experimental results show that our algorithm has superiority over other similar algorithms in terms of processing speedup and quality of clustering and efficiency.

Abstract: With the development of science and technology, more and more cities are confronted with the water pollution of various degrees. The article is devoted to the introduction of a secondary sewage monitoring and management system which can automatically check the content of different components in the sewage discharged by enterprises and supply data reports with the help of probes, SBCs, PCs, etc. The article includes five parts. The first part introduces the research background, main research work and innovations of this system. The second part introduces the system architecture and system process. The third presents the fundamental working principles of SBCs and the relevant algorithms of PCs. The fourth expounds the problems and deficiencies which may exist in the algorithms. And the last part consists of summary and prospect, providing the possible solution to the deficiencies and looking forward to the future direction of research.

A New Method for the Dynamic Reserves of Gas Condensate Reservoir Using Cyclic Gas Injection Based on the Effects of Reinjection Ratio and Water Influx  [PDF]

Abstract: As we all know, cyclic gas injection is one of the most effective development methods to improve condensate oil recovery. When dealing with the calculation of the reserves, the injection-production differences and water influx create great influence on the accuracy. Based on the existing research, we proposed a new material balance equation which considered the differences of composition between produced and injected fluids and the effect of water influx, and a solution was provided in this paper. The results of the method are closer to the actual situation because they are built on the law of conservation of mass, and the using of curve fitting method can not only avoid the use of water influx coefficient but also obtain the water influx rate and reserves at the same time. The YH-23 gas condensate reservoir is taking as a typical subject to do the research, which has been exploited by cycle gas injection for 14 years. Three different methods are used to calculate the reserves, and the results show that the method proposed in this paper has minimum error of 2.96%.
Relationship between Banks’ Capital and Credit Risk-Taking through Syndicated Loan  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper aims to investigate whether banks exploit their information advantage over bank-dependent borrowers, analyzing the impact of capital level on banking credit risk-taking under syndication loans. By using a unique data composed of 4828 syndicated loan of publicity banks facilities from the U.S. for the period 1987-2010, we propose theoretical issues of the impact and effectiveness of banks’ credit risk-taking from the perspectives of borrowers’ bank dependent. The results show that there is positive correlation between the ratios of bank’s capital over its total assets and banks’ credit risk-taking. It implies that banks with lower capital level charge higher lending spread for borrowers with fewer cash flows; hence the banks would bear a lower probability of default.

Abstract: Millennium Development Goal 4 calls for a reduction in the under-five mortality rate by two-thirds between 1990 and 2015, which corresponds to an annual rate of decline of 4.4%. The United Nations Inter-Agency Group for Child Mortality Estimation estimates under-five mortality in every country to measure progress. For the majority of countries, the estimates within a country are based on the assumption of a piece-wise constant rate of decline.
