Damage Detection of Steel Bridge Based on Acceleration Power Spectral Density

Abstract: Non-destructive testing of structure with the change of vibration characteristics attracted much attention in recent years. The basic idea of this method is that the vibration characteristics can reflect the state of the structure, and damages can cause changes of bridge vibration parameters. In order to study the method detecting steel bridge damages based on the power spectral density (PSD) of acceleration response, a disused railroad bridge in Japan was adopted as specimen, and six cases of damage were introduced to it in advance. The bridge was actuated by sinusoid sweeping frequency wave, and then the power spectral density differences between the undamaged and damaged bridge were analyzed. Experimental results show that the steel bridge damages can be detected and located by the changes of acceleration PSD.
Growth Responses of Rorippa globosa and Its Accumulation Characteristics of Cd and As under the Cd-As Combined Pollution

Abstract: Rorippa globosa has been identified as a new Cd-hyperaccumulating plant species. In the present study, growth responses of Rorippa globosa and its accumulation characteristics of Cd and As were examined under the condition of Cd-As combined pollution. The results showed that Cd and As had an antagonistic effect on enhancing the growth of the plants and Cd uptake and accumulation under the low concentration Cd and As treatments. When Cd and As concentrations were 10 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg, the highest height of the plants and the dry weight of shoots were up to 35.9 cm and 2.2 g/pot, respectively; and the accumulation of Cd in the leaves under the combined pollution was higher than that at the same level under single Cd pollution. However, there were synergic adverse effects on plant growth and Cd uptake under the high concentration Cd and As combined pollution. Meanwhile the accumulation of As in the roots was higher than that in the shoots, the translocation factor < or = 0.3 and the bioaccumulation factor < or = 0.6, which showed that Rorippa globosa had an excluding effect on As uptake. These results confirmed that Rorippa globosa had the strong tolerance ability to the Cd-As combined pollution, and the potential applied to phytoremediation of contaminated soil by Cd and As.
Clusters of Sudden Unexplained Death Associated with the Mushroom, Trogia venenata, in Rural Yunnan Province, China

Abstract: Introduction Since the late 1970's, time-space clusters of sudden unexplained death (SUD) in northwest Yunnan, China have alarmed the public and health authorities. From 2006–2009, we initiated enhanced surveillance for SUD to identify a cause, and we warned villagers to avoid eating unfamiliar mushrooms. Methods We established surveillance for SUD, defined as follows: sudden onset of serious, unexplained physical impairment followed by death in <24 hours. A mild case was onset of any illness in a member of the family or close socially related group of a SUD victim within 1 week of a SUD. We interviewed witnesses of SUD and mild case-persons to identify exposures to potentially toxic substances. We tested blood from mild cases, villagers, and for standard biochemical, enzyme, and electrolyte markers of disease. Results We identified 33 SUD, a 73% decline from 2002–2005, distributed among 21 villages of 11 counties. We found a previously undescribed mushroom, Trogia venenata, was eaten by 5 of 7 families with SUD clusters compared to 0 of 31 other control-families from the same villages. In T. venenata–exposed persons SUD was characterized by sudden loss of consciousness during normal activities. This mushroom grew nearby 75% of 61 villages that had time-space SUD clusters from 1975 to 2009 compared to 17% of 18 villages with only single SUD (p<0.001, Fisher's exact test). Discussion Epidemiologic data has implicated T. venenata as a probable cause of clusters of SUD in northwestern Yunnan Province. Warnings to villagers about eating this mushroom should continue.

Abstract: This paper considers the stability of T-S fuzzy systems. Two equvilent sufficient conditions, represented in terms of linear matrix inequality(LMI) and Sum-of-squares (SOS), are obtained. The theorems presented in this paper have less conservatism than the existing ones, as have been verified by both theoretic analysis and numerical example.

Abstract: 应用广义模糊Lyapunov函数方法研究T-S模糊系统的稳定性与控制器设计问题.首先,将T-S模糊系统表示成模糊广义系统的形式;然后利用广义模糊Lyapunov函数得到模糊系统稳定的充分条件,并且给出基于线性矩阵不等式(LMI)的PDC控制器设计方法.该方法与已有的模糊Lyapunov函数方法相比,计算量小,并且表达成LMI形式,容易求解.最后,通过例子验证方法的优越性和有效性.
Changes and Mechenism of Soil Fertility Under Two Kinds of Sugarcane Cultivations During 25 Years——A Case Study of Longchuan Farm,Yunnan Province

Abstract: The changes and mechanism of soil fertility under two kinds of sugarcane cultivations during 25a were studied at Longchuan farm based on the data obtained from the surveys in 1983 and 2007. The results showed as follows: soil organic matter contents in dry land and paddy field reduced by 12.65% and 25% respectively, total nitrogen content changed little in dry land but reduced by 1.42% in paddy field, available N increased by 1.53% in dry land but reduced by 22.65% in paddy field, available P increased by 95.02% and 6.02% respectively in dry land and paddy field, available K increased by 26.36% in dry land but reduced by 47.28% in paddy field. The data of sugar yield and sugar recovered ratio proved that sugarcane leaf returning to field could improve soil fertility sustainably, which was attributed to for the continuous high sugar yield in studied region.
Characteristics of Cadmium Tolerance and Bioaccumulation of Bidens pilosa L. Seedlings

Abstract: 通过盆栽实验研究了镉(Cd)胁迫下三叶鬼针草(Bidens pilosaL.)幼苗的耐性能力(包括生长反应和生理生化特性)以及对Cd的吸收积累特征.结果表明,当土壤中投加的Cd浓度为≤32 mg/kg时,三叶鬼针草植物的生长和发育没有受到抑制,与对照相比,地上部和根部生物量分别增加了32.4%~44%和29.1%~57.6%,其中,当Cd处理浓度为8 mg/kg时,地上部干重达到最大值,为0.22 g/pot.在不同Cd处理下,叶绿素(Chl)和可溶性蛋白(SP)含量下降,分别比对照处理降低了23.3%和41.5%;超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)活性随着Cd浓度增加先有所抑制,后逐渐增大;过氧化物酶(POD)活性和丙二醛(MDA)含量随Cd处理浓度增加而增大,分别比对照增加了1.2~6.6和1.1~1.5倍.然而,当Cd浓度为50~100 mg/kg时,显示出对三叶鬼针草幼苗的生长发育和生理生化特征都产生了一定的负效应,说明三叶鬼针草对Cd污染的耐性能力具有一定的阈值.在梯度实验中,植物体内Cd的富集系数和转移系数都大于1.0.当土壤中Cd含量达到100 mg/kg时,地上部Cd含量达到119.1 mg/kg,具备...

Abstract: The complex molecule of the title compound, [Zn(C13H9N2O3)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, has 2 symmetry with the ZnII cation located on a twofold rotation axis. The Zn cation is N,N′-chelated by two 5-[(pyridin-2-yl)methylideneamino]-2-hydroxybenzoate anions and coordinated by two water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. Within the anionic ligand, the pyridine ring is oriented at a dihedral angle of 49.54 (10)° with respect to the benzene ring. The carboxylate group of the anionic ligand is not involved in coordination but is O—H...O hydrogen bonded to the coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules. Weak intermolecular C—H...O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cu(C8H7NO5S)(C12H8N2)2]·2H2O, the CuII ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands and one O atom from a 2-(4-sulfonatoanilino)acetate (spia) ligand in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. Intermolecular N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds, as well as π–π interactions between phen ligands and between phen and spia ligands [centroid–centroid distances = 3.663 (3), 3.768 (3) and 3.565 (3) ], result in a three-dimensional supramolecular structure.

Abstract: In the title compound, [Cd(C3H6NS2)2]n, the CdII atom, lying on a twofold rotation axis, is coordinated by six S atoms from four different N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamate ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. The bridging of S atoms of the ligands leads to the formation of a one-dimensional structure along [001].
