An Analytical Model for Multifractal Systems  [PDF]

Abstract: Previous multifractal spectrum theories can only reflect that an object is multifractal and few explicit expressions of f(α) can be obtained for the practical application of nonlinearity measure. In this paper, an analytical model for multifractal systems is developed by combining and improving the Jake model, Tyler fractal model and Gompertz curve, which allows one to obtain explicit expressions of a multifractal spectrum. The results show that the model can deal with many classical multifractal examples well, such as soil particle-size distributions, non-standard Sierpinski carpet and three-piece-fractal market price oscillations. Applied to the soil physics, the model can effectively predict the cumulative mass of particles across the entire range of soil textural classes.
Modeling of the Unburned Carbon in Fly Ash  [PDF]

Abstract: Numerical simulation of the content of unburned carbon in fly ash on the 300MW tangentially pulverized coal fired boiler is performed by the numerical simulation software COALFIRE, which is based on international advanced TASCFLOW software platform. Firstly, take the result of calculation of number value as the sample, and then set up the support vector machine model of unburned carbon content on the boiler. The relative error between the predicted output and measured value is 0.00186%, which proves the modeling is good for the unburned carbon in fly ash predict.

Abstract: A theoretical approach of ordered emergency tasks generation is proposed for dealing with a specific emergency event rapidly, exactly and effectively. According to the general principles of an emergency plan developed to response to an emergency management, a workflow model is employed to complete the formal modeling of concrete emergency plan firstly. Then the HTN planning system SHOP2 is introduced, the transformation method of domain knowledge from emergency domain to SHOP2 domain is studied. At last, the general procedure to solve the emergency decision prob-lems and to generate executive emergency tasks is set up drawing support from SHOP2 planning system, which will combine the principles (or knowledge) of emergency plan and the real emergency situations.

The overview of potato poisoning has been reviewed in the report and the symptom of the patient under potato poisoning comparing with other appendicitis patients has been described. We highlighted the deference of methodology of anesthetic treatment comparing the patient under potato poisoning with other appendicitis patients.

Abstract: In this paper, we present two extensions of the strand space method to model Kerberos V. First, we include time and timestamps to model security protocols with timestamps: we relate a key to a crack time and combine it with timestamps in order to define a notion of recency. Therefore, we can check replay attacks in this new framework. Second, we extend the classic strand space theory to model protocol mixture. The main idea is to introduce a new relation to model the causal relation between one primary protocol session and one of its following secondary protocol session. Accordingly, we also extend the definition of unsolicited authentication test.

Abstract: In this paper, we show how to use the novel extended strand space method to verify Kerberos V. First, we formally model novel semantical features in Kerberos V such as timestamps and protocol mixture in this new framework. Second, we apply unsolicited authentication test to prove its secrecy and authentication goals of Kerberos V. Our formalization and proof in this case study have been mechanized using Isabelle/HOL.

Abstract:
Since the housing reform in 1998, China’s real estate market has developed rapidly and real estate prices have been on the rise. The real estate industry has become the pillar industry of our economy. However, historical experience has repeatedly proved that if economic development relies too heavily on real estate and real estate prices continue to rise rapidly and rapidly, it will affect enterprises’ investment, production efficiency and innovation ability, which will affect the steady and healthy development of enterprises. Some studies have found that the rise of house prices has adverse effects on the development of non-real estate enterprises such as cost effect, investment transfer effect and credit effect. Therefore, it is necessary to intensify the regulation and control of house prices, vigorously develop long-term public rental housing and improve the dynamic monitoring mechanism of real estate mortgage, limit the flow of credit funds into the real estate.

Abstract: Although he has not been accepted as a famous English poet by the mainstream consciousness of his poetic production at his age, William Blake is now extensively regarded as one of the earliest and greatest figures who have pioneered the early romanticism in English literature. His typical poems have been discussed for a long time from various perspectives but the role of the image of London in his emblematic poem London has rarely been touched by scholars to make an exploration of the critical spirits of the poet. To attach an academic importance on the academic values in this respect, this essay will take London as an analytical sample to justify that the image of London in William Blake’s London can be taken as an accusative weapon against the social brutalities of England in reference to the social reality of that repressive time based on a better analysis of the image of London in this poem from the perspective of reflectionism in terms of the social oppression, class repression, religious misconduct as much as liberal exploitation of English society as what can be seen in the poetic images of this poem.

Abstract: The capital asset pricing model (CAPM) is a commonly used regression model in finance to model stock returns. Bayesian methods have been developed for the CAPM to account for market fluctuations within the industry. However, a Bayesian model checking procedure is needed to assess the CAPM in terms of the usual regression model assumptions of independence, homogeneity of variance, and normality. This paper develops Bayesian residuals and Bayesian p-values to check these model assumptions as well as to suggest model extensions to the CAPM.
Medicated rat serum containing Gengnianchun decoction reduces apoptosis of pheochromocytoma cells insulted by amyloid beta protein

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effects of medicated rat serum containing Gengnianchun (GNC) decoction and its protection to pheochromocytoma cells (PC12 cells) from amyloid beta (Aβ)25-35-insulted apoptosis and to find the possible mechanism.Methods: Medicated rat serum was prepared by administering ovariectomized Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats with GNC decoction. The effects of medicated rat serum on viability of PC12 cells were evaluated by cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay. The PC12 cells were cultured with different doses of Aβ25-35 to induce a model of Alzheimer's disease in vitro. Then, the protective effects of medicated rat serum on Aβ25-35-insulted PC12 cells were evaluated by using CCK-8 assay to detect the cell viability, using Annexin Ⅴ-fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)/propidium iodide (PI) flow cytometry to detect cell apoptosis rate and using Western blotting assay to analyze the expressions of Bcl-2, Bax and active caspase-3 proteins.Results: PC12 cells cultured with 20% medicated rat serum containing GNC decoction for 24 h or 48 h had higher viability than those cultured with normal culture medium (P<0.05). After 24- or 48-hour treatment of different concentrations of Aβ25-35, cell viabilities were all decreased as compared with normal medium (P<0.05). Cells underwent apoptosis, which showed the neurotoxicity of Aβ25-35. The cell apoptosis induced by Aβ25-35 was significantly decreased in PC12 cells which were pretreated with 20% medicated rat serum or nerve growth factor (NGF) according to CCK-8 assay and Annexin Ⅴ-FITC/PI flow cytometry (P<0.05). The ratio of Bax expression to Bcl-2 expression and the expression of active caspase-3 were decreased in the cells treated with medicated serum or NGF as compared with the cells cultured with Aβ25-35 only.Conclusion: The GNC-medicated rat serum at concentration of 20% can promote viability of Aβ25-35-insulted PC12 cells and decrease the cell apoptosis by regulating the expressions of Bcl-2, Bax and active caspase 3.
