Analysis on the Evolution of Urban Land Structure and Economic Driving Force in Changde

Abstract: Based on information entropy theory, the dynamically evolutional characteristics of urban land structure were analyzed in the time and space from 2001-2008, in Changde city. In time, the entropy and equilibrium of urban land information increased first and then decreased, with a slight fluctuation in 2007. The overall entropy and equilibrium showed a relatively stable trend, but the degree of dominance and equilibrium were the opposite trend. In space, information entropy, degree of equilibrium and dominance showed significant differences in each designated town of Changde. Further by constructing a multiple regression model to investigate economic driving force of the urban land evolution in Changde city, this paper found that the level of urbanization was the most important economic driver, followed by investment in fixed assets and GDP.

Abstract: Changes of and correlation among root tolerance index (RTI), root Aluminum (Al) content, root/shoot ratio (RSR), root malondialdehyde (MDA) content, and Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and peroxidase (POD) isoforms of maize YQ 7-96 were investigated under Al stress and removal of the stress (RS). Consequently, Al stress led to significant decreases in RTI, RSR, SOD and POD activities, but resulted in significant increase in root MD A and, Al accumulation in the tissues; Root SOD and POD activities did not correlate with Al and MDA contents in roots; The activities of SOD and POD were much lower in roots than in leaves. It can be concluded that (1) Al stress can lead to lipid peroxidation; (2) there is a larger POD family composed of different POD isoforms, some of which are of tissue-specific expression and play different roles in detoxification of Al in maize; (3) for POD isoforms, POD 2 is root-specific. POD 6 and POD 7 are all leaf-specific, POD 5 is not only root-specific but also RS-responsive; (4) high sensitivity of maize to Al is in part associated with much lower activities of both SOD and POD in roots; and (5) more importantly, both SOD and POD are therefore hinted to be not key players in prevention against Al-induced lipid peroxidation.
Mechanism and Pathway of the Ozonation of Nonylphenol in Aqueous Solution

Abstract: 20 mg/L nonylphenol solution was ozonized. The removal efficiency and the intermediate products were studied during the ozonation of nonylphenol, the possible reaction mechanism of the ozonation of nonylphenol was proposed. The experimental results indicate that there are two kinds of ozonation patterns, the oxidation by molecule O3 alone and by O3/·OH. Both ozonation patterns can remove nonylphenol completely within 18 minutes. However, the combined oxidation can remove 96 % of the initial nonylphenol within 4 minutes, and it took 12 minutes in the single O3 molecule oxidation system. The formaldehyde was detected during the ozonation of nonylphenol. The concentration reached stability after 8 minutes during the oxidation by single O3 and gradually increased during the combined oxidation process.
Increased N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide level predicts atrial fibrillation after surgery for esophageal carcinoma

Abstract: AIM: To evaluate the value of plasma N-terminal pro- brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) level for predicting postoperative atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients undergoing surgery for esophageal carcinoma.METHODS: NT-proBNP levels were measured in 142 patients 24 h before and 1 h after surgery for esophageal carcinoma. All patients having a preoperative cardiac diagnosis by electrocardiogram (ECG), remained under continuous monitoring for at least 48 h after surgery, and then underwent clinical cardiac evaluation until discharge.RESULTS: Postoperative AF occurred in 11 patients (7.7%). AF patients were significantly older (69.6 ± 12.2 years vs 63.4 ± 13.3 years, P = 0.031) than non-AF patients. There were no significant differences in history of diabetes mellitus, sex distribution, surgical approach, anastomosis site, intraoperative hypotension and postoperative fever. The preoperative plasma NT-proBNP level was significantly higher in patients who developed postoperative AF (121.3 ± 18.3 pg/mL vs 396.1 ± 42.6 pg/mL, P = 0.016). After adjustment for age, gender, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), history of cardiac diseases, hypertension, postoperative hypoxia and thoracic-gastric dilation, NT-proBNP levels were found to be associated with the highest risk factor for postoperative AF (odds ratio = 4.711, 95% CI = 1.212 to 7.644, P = 0.008).CONCLUSION: An elevated perioperative plasma BNP level is a strong and independent predictor of postoperative AF in patients undergoing surgery for esophageal carcinoma. This finding has important implications for identifying patients at higher risk of postoperative AF who should be considered for preventive antiarrhythmic therapy.
Interlayer magnetic frustration driven quantum spin disorder in honeycomb compound In$_{3}$Cu$_{2}$VO$_{9}$

Abstract: We present electronic and magnetic properties of a honeycomb compound In$_{3}$Cu$_{2}$VO$_{9}$ in this paper. We find that the parent phase is a charge transfer insulator with an energy gap of about 1.5 eV. Singly occupied d$_{3z^{2}-r^{2}}$ electrons of copper ions contribute an $S$ = 1/2 spin, while vanadium ions show nonmagnetism. Oxygen 2$p$ orbitals hybridizing with a small fraction of Cu 3$d$ orbitals dominate the density of states near $E_{F}$. The planar nearest-neighbor, next-nearest-neighbor and interplane superexchange couplings of Cu spins are $J_{1}$ $\approx$ 16.2 meV, $J_{2}$ $\approx$ 0.3 meV and $J_{z}$ $\approx$ 1.2 meV, suggesting a low-dimensional antiferromagnet \cite{Sondhi10}. We propose that the magnetic frustration along the c-axis leads to a quantum spin disorder in In$_{3}$Cu$_{2}$VO$_{9}$, in accordance with the recent experiments. {abstract}
How Well does BCC_CSM1.1 Reproduce the 20th Century Climate Change over China?

Abstract: The historical simulation of phase five of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP5) experiments performed by the Beijing Climate Center climate system model(BCC_CSM1.1) is evaluated regarding the time evolutions of the global and China mean surface air temperature(SAT) and surface climate change over China in recent decades.BCC_CSM1.1 has better capability at reproducing the time evolutions of the global and China mean SAT than BCC_CSM1.0.By the year 2005,the BCC_CSM1.1 model simulates a warming amplitude of approximately 1℃ in China over the 1961-1990 mean,which is consistent with observation.The distributions of the warming trend over China in the four seasons during 1958-2004 are basically reproduced by BCC_CSM1.1,with the warmest occurring in winter.Although the cooling signal of Southwest China in spring is partly reproduced by BCC_CSM1.1,the cooling trend over central eastern China in summer is omitted by the model.For the precipitation change,BCC_CSM1.1 has good performance in spring,with drought in Southeast China.After removing the linear trend,the interannual correlation map between the model and the observation shows that the model has better capability at reproducing the summer SAT over China and spring precipitation over Southeast China.

Abstract: 采用基于密度泛函理论的投影平面波方法,对后钙钛矿结构(Ppv)的CaRhO3的电子结构和磁学性质进行了研究.广义梯度(GGA)近似下的计算表明,Ppv-CaRhO3的基态为铁磁性半金属,Rh4+离子的磁矩大小为0.57μB,具有低自旋态构型;而考虑在位库仑作用修正的GGA+U计算,得到了与实验结果相符的反铁磁绝缘体基态,表明后钙钛矿结构中4d电子之间的关联效应对体系性质有着重要影响.

Abstract: The thermoelectric compound TiS2 is studied by using the full-potential linearized augmented plane-wave method on the density functional theory with the generalized gradient approximation (GGA) as well as the on-site Coulomb interaction correction (+U). The Seebeck coefficient of TiS2 is calculated based on the electronic structure obtained within the GGA under the consideration of the on-site Coulomb interaction. The calculated Seebeck coefficient at 300K shows that Coulomb interaction U in the range of 4.97--5.42eV is important to reproduce the experimental data. The obtained energy gap Eg around 0.05eV indicates that TiS2 is an indirect narrow-gap semiconductor.

Abstract: Laser-induced voltage effects in c-axis oriented Ca3Co4O9 thin films have been studied with samples fabricated on 10circ tilted LaAlO3 (001) substrates by a simple chemical solution deposition method. An open-circuit voltage with a rise time of about 10 ns and full width at half maximum of about 28 ns is detected when the film surface is irradiated by a 308-nm laser pulse with a duration of 25 ns. Besides, open-circuit voltage signals are also observed when the film surface is irradiated separately by the laser pulses of 532 nm and 1064 nm. The results indicate that Ca3Co4O9 thin films have a great potential application in the wide range photodetctor from the ultraviolet to near infrared regions.

Abstract: In this paper, the fractional Hardy-type operator of variable order $\beta(x)$ is shown to be bounded from the variable exponent Herz-Morrey spaces $M\dot{K}_{p_{_{1}},q_{_{1}}(\cdot)}^{\alpha(\cdot),\lambda}(\R^{n})$ into the weighted space $M\dot{K}_{p_{_{2}},q_{_{2}}(\cdot)}^{\alpha(\cdot),\lambda}(\R^{n},\omega)$, where $\alpha(x)\in L^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ be log-H\"older continuous both at the origin and at infinity, $\omega=(1+|x|)^{-\gamma(x)}$ with some $\gamma(x)>0$ and $ 1/q_{_{1}}(x)-1/q_{_{2}}(x)=\beta(x)/n$ when $q_{_{1}}(x)$ is not necessarily constant at infinity.
