Numerical Study of the Instability Patterns Between Counter Rotating Disks

Abstract: The flow between counter-rotating disks for aspect ratio R/h = 7, is investigated numerically. This flow gives rise to a new instability pattern, a circular chain of vortices connected to the boundary layers trough spiral arms. The physical mechanism for this instability is elucidated: the balance between the centrifugal effects of each rotating disk results in the detachment of the boundary layer over the slower rotating disk, leading to a free shear layer in the bulk of the flow, witch becomes unstable via a Kelvin-helmholtz-type instability.
Kratzer's molecular potential in quantum mechanics with a generalized uncertainty principle

Abstract: The Kratzer's potential $V(r)=g_{1}/r^{2}-g_{2}/r$ is studied in quantum mechanics with a generalized uncertainty principle, which includes a minimal length $\left( \Delta X\right) _{\min}=\hbar\sqrt{5\beta}$. In momentum representation, the Schr\"{o}dinger equation is a generalized Heun's differential equation, which reduces to a hypergeometric and to a Heun's equations in special cases. We explicitly show that the presence of this finite length regularizes the potential in the range of the coupling constant $g_{1}$ where the corresponding Hamiltonian is not self-adjoint. In coordinate space, we perturbatively derive an analytical expression for the bound states spectrum in the first order of the deformation parameter $\beta$. We qualitatively discuss the effect of the minimal length on the vibration-rotation energy levels of diatomic molecules, through the Kratzer interaction. By comparison with an experimental result of the hydrogen molecule, an upper bound for the minimal length is found to be of about $0.01$ \AA . We argue that the minimal length would have some physical importance in studying the spectra of such systems
Klein-Gordon Equation with Coulomb Potential in the Presence of a Minimal Length

Abstract: We study the Klein-Gordon equation for Coulomb potential, V(r)=(-Ze^{2})/r, in quantum mechanics with a minimal length. The zero energy solution is obtained analytically in momentum space in terms of Heun's functions. The asymptotic behavior of the solution shows that the presence of a minimal length regularize the potential in the strong attractive regime, Z>68. The equation with nonzero energy is established in a particular case in the first order of the deformation parameter; it is a generalized Heun's equation.

Abstract: moral harassment in the workplace is a new phenomenon that became popular in the last decade of the last century. the legislator has still not provided a specific regulation for this behaviour, which does not indicate the existence of a legal hole, but is rather a deficiency of technical character in the formulation of certain norms or the presence of a legislative blank. what it has done without a doubt is to force the jurist to enliven his acuity while reviewing the concepts already designed by the legal code in order to solve this new labour problem. this scientific work seeks to offer diverse alternatives to resolve this situation in the light of existing law, to prevent and sanction labour harassment behaviours and to protect and compensate the worker who is a victim of this situation.

Abstract: El acoso moral en el trabajo es un nuevo fenómeno que ha tenido auge en la última década del siglo pasado. El legislador no ha proporcionado, aún, una específica regulación de este comportamiento, que no significa la existencia de un vacío legal, ya que consta una deficiencia de carácter técnico en la formulación de ciertas normas o la presencia de una laguna legislativa. Lo que ha hecho, sin duda, forzar al jurista a avivar su agudeza revisando los conceptos ya dise ados por el ordenamiento jurídico para poder dar solución a éste nuevo problema laboral. Este trabajo científico pretende ofrecer diversas alternativas para solventar esta situación bajo la luz del Derecho vigente, para prevenir y sancionar las conductas de hostigamiento laboral y proteger e indemnizar al trabajador víctima de esta situación. Abstract: Este estudio pretende realizar una reflexión sobre los impactos de las nuevas tecnologías en los sistemas de las relaciones laborales y la evolución que puede tomar el ordenamiento laboral en los próximos a os, aportando las vías de escape a las que debe llegar el Derecho del Trabajo en un futuro, partiendo desde el impacto de las tecnologías en las relaciones laborales, en especial Internet y el coreo electrónico; la relación existente entre los trabajadores y representantes de los trabajadores con las nuevas tecnologías; los conflictos que dimanan del uso de la tecnología en las relaciones laborales y la gran necesidad de una regulación legal específica del tema.

Abstract: L'objet de ce travail est de présenter quelques éléments sur la culture savante "locale" du Sud-Est de la Kabylie au xixe siècle et au début du xxe siècle. L'utilisation de l'écriture et la diversité des domaines d'intérêt (identifiés essentiellement sur la base de manuscrits) sont examinées à travers les écrits de quatre générations d'une famille de lettrés locaux. Une première analyse permet de constater que la contribution de ces lettrés locaux concernait essentiellement la copie d’ouvrage, le commentaire et l’abrégé de textes de référence, les activités judiciaires (consultations juridiques,…), les observations astronomiques, l’utilisation des opérations de calcul, la pratique astrologique… The purpose of this study is to present elements of the knowledge culture of Southeast Kabylie in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The use of writing and the variety of interests covered (identified essentially through manuscripts) are examined through the writings of four generations of a literate local family. A first reading offers a view of a family essentially concerned with transcribing texts, the commentary and summaries of reference texts and legal activities (legal counseling,...), astronomical observation, mathematical applications and astrological practice...
Regularization of the Singular Inverse Square Potential in Quantum Mechanics with a Minimal length

Abstract: We study the problem of the attractive inverse square potential in quantum mechanics with a generalized uncertainty relation. Using the momentum representation, we show that this potential is regular in this framework. We solve analytically the s-wave bound states equation in terms of Heun's functions. We discuss in detail the bound states spectrum for a specific form of the generalized uncertainty relation. The minimal length may be interpreted as characterizing the dimension of the system.
Singular inverse-square potential: renormalization and self-adjoint extensions for medium to weak coupling

Abstract: We study the radial Schr\"{o}dinger equation for a particle of mass $m$ in the field of the inverse-square potential $\alpha/r^{2}$ in the medium-weak-coupling region, i.e., with $-1/4\leq2m\alpha/\hbar^{2}\leq3/4$. By using the renormalization method of Beane \textit{et} \textit{al.,}with two regularization potentials, a spherical square well and a spherical $\delta$ shell, we illustrate that the procedure of renormalization is independent of the choice of the regularization counterterm. We show that, in the aforementioned range of the coupling constant $\alpha$, there exists at most one bound state, in complete agreement with the method of self-adjoint extensions. We explicitly show that this bound state is due to the attractive square-well and delta-function counterterms present in the renormalization scheme. Our result for $2m\alpha/\hbar^{2}=-1/4$ is in contradiction with some results in the literature.
Singular inverse square potential in arbitrary dimensions with a minimal length: Application to the motion of a dipole in a cosmic string background

Abstract: We solve analytically the Schr\"odinger equation for the N-dimensional inverse square potential in quantum mechanics with a minimal length in terms of Heun's functions. We apply our results to the problem of a dipole in a cosmic string background. We find that a bound state exists only if the angle between the dipole moment and the string is larger than {\pi}/4. We compare our results with recent conflicting conclusions in the literature. The minimal length may be interpreted as a radius of the cosmic string.
