World Journal of Condensed Matter Physics (WJCMP) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/wjcmp.2011.14023
Abstract: We produce multilayer graphene by the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) method at atmospheric pressure and 1000°C, using flexible copper substrates as catalyst and liquid hexane as the source of carbon. We designed an optical device to measure the transmittance of the carbon films; with this information we calculate that the approximate number of layers is 11.

Abstract: here ?present a taphonomic analysis of extinct fauna from three archaeological and paleontological sites (lv'268, lv'017, lv 100) near los vilos along coastal semiarid chile. these sites show a complex history of formation processes owing to the strong erosive action of wind resulting in deflation of pleistocene soil profiles. this has resulted in an amalgamation of several different paleontological and archaeological events on the present day surface. the extinct faunal assemblage that includes palaeolama, equus (amerhippus), mylodonts and edentates reveals that part of the remains were deposited by the action of large carnivores. other evidence suggests human exploitation of palaeolama possibly through scavenging
Current State of the Teaching of Process Writing in EFL Classes: An Observational Study in the Last Two Years of Secondary School1

Profile Issues in Teachers` Professional Development , 2005,
Abstract: this study reports on the process writing activities carried out in efl classes in the last two years of secondary school. grades 10 and 11 in six colombian high schools - three public and three private - were observed in order to determine the way process writing is taught, focusing especially on the planning, composing, and revising activities, and based on the understanding of writing as an activity with a process-oriented approach. the findings indicate that writing and also reading are product-oriented, and that class activities tend to place or emphasize listening and speaking over writing and reading. most of the time was spent on oral exercises, drills, role-plays and pronunciation, being group work and role-play activities what students enjoyed most.

Implicit and Explicit Teaching of Grammar: An Empirical Study
Mendoza López Edgar
Profile Issues in Teachers` Professional Development , 2004,
Abstract: This is a report on the experimental phase of a two-stage study on the effects of implicit-explicit grammar instruction regarding EFL students’ performance. The purpose of this phase was to investigate whether the methodologies of implicit and explicit EFL instruction account for the improvement of university students’ performance on a test over two grammar topics. Three groups were selected. Students in the implicit language classes had no explicit instruction on these topics which were taught through meaningful and contextualised listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. Students in the explicit language classes were taught the regular course plus additional exercises and drills in order to practise the grammatical features, and a control group was taught the regular course. The results indicate that students in the explicit instruction group achieved significantly higher scores than both the students in the implicit instruction group and the students in the control group on the performance tests. Asimismo, la evidencia sugiere eventos de explotación humana sobre Palaeolama, probablemente a través del carro eo Here present a taphonomic analysis of extinct fauna from three archaeological and paleontological sites (LV'268, LV'017, LV 100) near Los Vilos along coastal semiarid Chile. Abstract: this paper presents a characterization of 257 metal artifacts assigned to the late intermediate and late periods (ca. 900-1536 ad) of the diaguita culture of semiarid northern chile. the results indicate metalwork focused on copper, or alloys with a high percentage of copper, manufactured by cold plastic deformation. a repertoire of 21 morphological categories is proposed, the most frequent of which are pre-inca fishhooks and ornaments, especially rings, in the late period. on the basis of these results we discuss the impact of inca rule on the manufacture and use of metals, such as their production and use, by the diaguita population.

Abstract: phosphorus is a nutrient with low soil solubility and mobility and may present limited availability for plant growth. one way to increase phosphorus availability in soil is by fertilization. due to the variability in the evaluation of phosphorus availability in soil, the study was carried out with the following objectives: a) to compare two of the most common soil available p methods (bray i and olsen), and the iron oxide impregnated filter paper method (strip); b) to evaluate which of the methods is better related to some plant variables under different managements and soil conditions. the soils selected from corrientes province were: 1) entisol: natural soil as a control and cultivated with citrus, 2) alfisol: control and cultivated with rice, 3) vertisol: control and cultivated with pastures. physical and chemical soil properties indicated that soils from the same order differed in the textural composition, despite having similar chemical properties, suggesting that the differences among soils can be ascribed to cultivation. in addition, a greenhouse pot trial was conducted.six soils were fertilized with eleven levels of p (0-200 mg p kg-1) and then incubated during 25 days at 28 °c. after incubation, soil samples were analyzed for p by the olsen, bray i and strip methods. rye grass was grown in pots during 45 days and the shoot dry matter was harvested and its p content analyzed. the results obtained in this work suggest that the three studied methods of p availability in soils described adequately and significantly the relationship between extracted p and dry matter yield (r2 between 0.35 for the vertisol and 0.95, for the entisol), % p (r2 between 0.92 and 0.95) and absorbed p (r2 between 0.93 and 0.96). nevertheless, the adjustments were different between soils, extractants and crop managements, suggesting the existence of a three-way interaction that determines different results in the final value of p availability in soil. finally, we can conclude that the
