Fixed Point Theory and Applications , 2010,
Abstract: We give a sufficient and necessary condition concerning a Browder's convergence type theorem for uniformly asymptotically regular one-parameter nonexpansive semigroups in Hilbert spaces.
The Asymptotic Behavior of the Composition of Firmly Nonexpansive Mappings
David Ariza-Ruiz,Genaro López-Acedo,Adriana Nicolae
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: In this paper we provide a unified treatment of some convex minimization problems, which allows for a better understanding and, in some cases, improvement of results in this direction proved recently in spaces of curvature bounded above. For this purpose, we analyze the asymptotic behavior of compositions of finitely many firmly nonexpansive mappings in the setting of $p$-uniformly convex geodesic spaces focusing on asymptotic regularity and convergence results.

García López, Genaro Luis;
Investigación bibliotecológica , 2007,
Abstract: the law of access to public information in the state of sinaloa, and the federal law of transparency and access to public governmental information are analysed within the framework of the knowledge society, the development of information and communication technologies, the fight against corruption and the development of e-government and e-administration in mexico. general principles of law such as the right of access to public information, privacy of personal data and protection of private and confidential data are analysed; "public information" and "public document" are defined; criteria for the classification of information are established; the government bodies affected are specified, and also the criteria for establishing the cost of access and different procedures for the development of the laws. a subsequent study is made of the development of the regulations and the creation of institutions or agencies to fulfil the legislative precepts. the paper concludes by pointing out the limitations in the development of free access to information and the lack of interest of most citizens, and the challenges posed by the new framework for information scientists, discussed.

García-López, Genaro Luis;López-álvarez, Olga María;
Investigación bibliotecológica , 2005,
Abstract: an analysis of the university in spain is made in its transition from the "ancien régime" to the liberal society, stressing the aims the reformers sought to obtain and the coexisting problems they encountered. after characterizing the higher education centers, an analysis of the university library is made: its previous development up until the first third of the xix century; the consolidation of its holdings after integrating the documents had by the suppressed religious communities (the jesuits); its double character as library and public education center; and its main problems and the possible service it lent to the cultural and scientific development of the country.

A WDM model for the evolution of galactic halos
L. Acedo
Physics , 2011, DOI: 10.1088/1475-7516/2009/07/037
Abstract: It is a well-known fact that the gravitational effect of dark matter in galaxies is only noticeable when the orbital accelerations drop below $a_0 \simeq 2\times 10^{-8}$ cm s$^{-1}$ (Milgrom's Law). This peculiarity of the dynamic behaviour of galaxies was initially ascribed to a modification of Newtonian dynamics (MOND theory) and, consequently, it was used as an argument to criticize the dark matter hypothesis. In our model, warm dark matter is composed by collisionless Vlasov particles with a primordial typical velocity $\simeq 330$ km s$^{-1}$ and, consequently, they evaporated from galactic cores and reorganized in halos with a cusp at a finite distance from the galactic center (in contrast with Cold Dark Matter simulations which predict a cusp at the center of galaxies). This is confirmed by mean-field N-body simulations of the self-gravitating Vlasov dark matter particles in the potential well of the baryonic core. The rest mass of these particles, $\mu$, is determined from a kinetic theory of the early universe with a cosmological constant. We find that $\mu$ is in the range of a few keV. This result makes sterile neutrinos the best suited candidates for the main component of dark matter.
Continuity Conditions for the Radial Distribution Function of Square-Well Fluids
L. Acedo
Statistics , 2000,
Abstract: The continuity conditions of the radial distribution function g(r) and its close relative the cavity function y(r) are studied in the context of the Percus-Yevick (PY) integral equation for 3D square-well fluids. The cases corresponding to a well width, (w-1)*d, equal to a fraction of the diameter of the hard core, d/m, with m=1,2,3 have been considered. In these cases, it is proved that the function y(r) and its first derivative are everywhere continuous but eventually the derivative of some order becomes discontinuous at the points (n+1)d/m, n=0,1,... . The order of continuity (the highest order derivative of y(r) being continuous at a given point) is found to be proportional to n in the first case (m=1) and to 2*n in the other two cases (m=2,3), for large values of n. Moreover, derivatives of y(r) up to third order are continuous at r=d and r=w*d for w=3/2 and w=4/3 but only the first derivative is continuous for w=2. This can be understood as a non-linear resonance effect.
Forward-Backward Splitting Methods for Accretive Operators in Banach Spaces
Genaro López,Victoria Martín-Márquez,Fenghui Wang,Hong-Kun Xu
Abstract and Applied Analysis , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/109236
Abstract: Splitting methods have recently received much attention due to the fact that many nonlinear problems arising in applied areas such as image recovery, signal processing, and machine learning aremathematically modeled as a nonlinear operator equation and this operator is decomposed as the sum of two (possibly simpler) nonlinear operators. Most of the investigation on splitting methods is however carried out in the framework of Hilbert spaces. In this paper, we consider these methods in the setting of Banach spaces. We shall introduce two iterative forward-backward splitting methods with relaxations and errors to find zeros of the sum of two accretive operators in the Banach spaces. We shall prove the weak and strong convergence of these methods under mild conditions. We also discuss applications of these methods to variational inequalities, the split feasibility problem, and a constrained convex minimization problem.
