Abstract: Localized lipodystrophy represents a regional accumulation of adipose tissue whose cells count on α1, α2and β adrenergic receptors which control lipolytic processes. Therapeutic ultrasonography has been shown as an efficient auxiliary resource in the reduction of measures, as well as in the elimination of localized fat onceits action can be effectively potentialized by phonoforesis. Ultrasonography mechanical and/or thermal effectpromotes modifications on the intercellular linkage and an increase in the cellular membrane permeability, what leads to a better diffusion of substances through the skin. Metilxantines (such as caffeine andaminofilin), besides being α1 blockers, also block phosphodiesterase, while ioimbin blocks α2, whatcontributes for the activation of adenylatecyclase and for lipolysis. The present study aimed to assess theeffects of 3MHz ultrasound associated to the use of lipolytic actives in the reduction of localized fat in theinfra-abdominal region. In a double-blind, longitudinal, randomized, and experimental clinic study, 27sedentary women with ages ranging from 18 to 30 y-o (without hormonal disturbs, and in current use ofcontraceptive medication) were enrolled. All voluntaries underwent a total of 12 sessions (3 times a week) ofphonoforesis with 2% caffeine, aminofilin and ioimbin each. The sample was divided in three groups: GroupUS – 3MHz continuous ultrasound with gel and without lipolytic actives; Group US+Actives – 3MHzcontinuous ultrasound with gel containing lipolytic actives; and Group CTRL – unplugged 3MHz ultrasound(control group). The variables assessed were adipometry, perimetry, and pre- (1st session) and post- (12thsession) treatment ultrasound. Our findings exhibit post-treatment reductions both in infra-abdominaladipometry and perimetry for all groups when compared to pre-treatment values (p<0.05). No post-treatmentultrasonography scores were found to be different from pre-treatment values (p>0.05). Group US+Activesshowed differences in adipometry when compared to Group CTRL (p<0.05). Group US showed differencesin adipometry, perimetry and ultrasonography when compared to Group CTRL (p<0.05). According to thisstudy, It may be concluded that therapeutic 3MHz ultrasound associated to lipolytic actives is as effective inthe reduction of infra-abdominal adiposity as therapeutic ultrasonography alone was also significantlyfavorable. Control group subjects loss of weight may be due to uncontrolled changes in diet.

Abstract: the objective of this study is to discuss the education of psychologists within multi-professional residencies, considering the meanings and the sense constructed by the residents and tutors about the daily learning process during work. the focus of the study is the first group of residents in a multi-professional residency in collective health with emphasis in mental health. the residency started in 2008 with 15 residents from six different areas, three of them from psychology. the study’s theoretical-methodological base was inspired by a line of the social psychology of discursive practices and meaning production, and on the ethnographic writings from interpretative anthropology. for data gathering, the study used semistructured interviews with the residents, a focus group with the tutors, as well as a field diary. the analysis of the interpretative repertoires of the psychology residents and other interviewees was organized into two main areas: psychology as an area of knowledge and as an area of construction. the participation of the psychologists in the multi-professional residency tends to refine the abilities of their professional body congruent with the needs of the field of mental health. this residency is inclined to provide a transdisciplinary education, once it is attentive to the subjective dimension of the education of the residents.

Textos & Contextos (Porto Alegre) , 2009,

Abstract: The objective of this study was to describe the behavior of Cebus nigritus kept in captivity. The work, carried out during the month of March 2008 at “Dr. Belírio Guimar es Brand o” County Zoo in Gar a- SP and Monte Alegre Farm Ecological Park in Telêmaco Borba- PR, included 48 hours of observations, divided equally in four daytime periods. The behavioral catalogue used was constituted of different categories such as: foraging, feeding, locomotion, rest, social interaction, physical care, alertness, manipulation of things, reproductive behavior and stereotyped behavior. Animals showed activities of foraging, feeding, and locomotion and social interaction in low percentages in the two morning periods; however, their frequencies increased in the afternoon. Other activities like physical care, alertness and stereotyped behavior appeared mainly in the two morning periods, but were reduced in the afternoon. The rest category was more evident early morning and late afternoon. Since the stereotypical behavior presented high percentages, this study recommends that the number of individuals be diversified in the social organization of the groups and that environment enriching activities be developed in captivity, creating situations similar to the animal’s natural habitat.
