Performance Feedback: Individual Based Reflections and the Effect on Motivation
Kurtulus Kaymaz
Business and Economics Research Journal , 2011,
Abstract: There is also enough scientific research proved the positive effect of performance on motivation. The common idea is that the performance feedback improve the technical and behavioral effectiveness of employees which then reflect on the job motivation. Around this idea, performance feedback effect motivation via reducing the performance ambiguity, improving the manager-subordinate relationships, making more easy to achieve goals, supporting the personal development and adapting to change. In this article, the effect of performance feedback on motivation is examined arround this stated five different variables. The research result indicated that the only reducing performance ambiguity have positive effect on motivation.
The Effects of Job Rotation Practices on Motivation: A Research on Managers in the Automotive Organizations
Kurtulus Kaymaz
Business and Economics Research Journal , 2010,
Abstract: Job rotation is a job design approach widely used by many companies at various hierarchical levels. By adopting the human structure of the company with technical processes, job rotation is the consequence of effort and determination. In Turkey it can be said that it is companies with a majority of foreign capital who have successfully applied this technique with the aim of improving workers performance. To reach this goal the first condition is to ensure that job rotation practices generate the expected effect on an employee’s motivation. From this angle, decreasing monotony, preparing the employee for management, defining the most productive job/position and increasing the level of knowledge and skills are the functions by which the said motivational effect will be achieved. Consequently this study aimed to test the established hypothesis expressed as ‘job rotation practices have a positive effect on motivation’. In this context, the research results verified that job rotation applications effect motivation.
New Oscillation Results for Forced Second Order Differential Equations with Mixed Nonlinearities  [PDF]

Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/am.2012.32023
Abstract: Some new oscillation criteria are given for forced second order differential equations with mixed nonlinearities by using the generalized variational principle and Riccati technique. Our results generalize and extend some known oscillation results in the literature.

IMP 8 magnetosheath field comparisons with models
Z. Kaymaz
Annales Geophysicae (ANGEO) , 2003,
Abstract: This study presents cross-sectional vector maps of the magnetic field derived from IMP 8 magnetometer in the magnetosheath at 30 Re behind the Earth. In addition the vector patterns of the magnetosheath field for northward, southward, and east-west interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) directions are qualitatively compared with those obtained from the Spreiter-Stahara gas dynamic (GD) and Fedder-Lyon magnetohydrodynamic models (MHD). The main purpose is to display the cross-sectional differences in relation to the dayside merging with different IMF directions, allowing the reader to make direct visual comparisons of the vector patterns. It is seen that for east-west IMF directions, the data-based and MHD-based patterns differ noticeably in a similar way from the GD model, presumably reflecting the influence of dayside magnetic merging of the Earth's magnetic field with the y-component of the interplanetary magnetic field. All three northward IMF cross sections show comparable field draping patterns as expected for a closed magnetosphere. For southward IMF case, on the other hand, differences between the three cross-sectional patterns are greater as seen in the field vector sizes and directions, especially closer to the magnetopause where more disturbed magnetospheric conditions are known to be exist. The data comparisons with the MHD and GD models show that the differences result from the magnetic field-flow coupling and that the effects of dayside reconnection are present in IMP 8 magnetic field measurements. CreatIng Web-based Math learnIng tool for TURKISH mIddle school students: Webquest
Aytac KURTULUS
The Turkish Online Journal of Distance Education , 2009,
Abstract: Internet is the most important product for the computer technology and it began to be used in many fields. Especially in the recent years, the usage of Internet has increased in the fields of communication, entertainment, advertisement, media, and technology. In Turkey, the usage of Internet is not used very common and active in primary and secondary education. The fast developments of the new technologies and the Web-Based Education Systems must be increased the importance of giving courses. In this study, the information to be aimed at is to introduce the WebQuest system, which was developed at San Diego State University by Bernie Dodge. A webQuest can be used web-based math learning tool for Turkish middle school students. Therefore, an example of geometry education WebQuest is given to introduce WebQuest system because WebQuest will be active in geometry teaching similar to the other subjects. An overview of WebQuest technology application and several resources for teachers and students interested in creating WebQuests can be found on The WebQutest Page (Dodge, 2001). Table 1 lists web sites that have many of these resources.

Long Term Variations of the Atmospheric Air Pollutants in Istanbul City
H. Kurtulus Ozcan
International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health , 2012, DOI: 10.3390/ijerph9030781
Abstract: High population density and intense industrial activity has resulted in various forms of pollution in megacities. Air pollution ranks at the top of this list. This study investigated long-term changes in air pollutant parameters (SO 2, CO, NO, NO 2, NO x) in Istanbul City, Turkey, using data from air-quality measurement stations on the Asian and European sides of Istanbul. The results show decreases from 2002 to 2010 in the amounts of SO 2 (one of the main pollutants released as a result of the burning of fossil fuels) and CO (indicative of incomplete combustion). However, NO x concentrations showed fluctuations over time, rather than a steady decline throughout the study period.
