Evaluation of Energy Band Gap, Thermal Conductivity, Phase Transition Temperature and Elastic Response of PS/CdS Semiconducting Optical Nanocomposite  [PDF]

Thick film of Polystyrene (PS)/CdS semiconducting optical nanocomposite has been synthesized by dispersing nanofiller particles of CdS in PS matrix. The nanostructure of the CdS particles has been ascertained through X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Small angle x-ray scattering analysis has been performed in order to ascertain nanocomposite character of the PS/CdS sample. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analyses of these samples have been carried out to establish the surface morphology. Optical Absorption Spectroscopy is used to measure the energy band gap of PS/CdS nanocomposite by using Tauc relation whereas Transient Plane Source Technique is used for the determination of thermal conductivity of the prepared samples. The phase transition temperature and elastic response of the prepared samples have been ascertained through Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer (DMA). This study reveals that the thermal conductivity, Young’s modulus and the toughness of the material are greatly influenced by the existence of interfacial energetic interaction between dispersed CdS nanofiller particles and matrix of PS.

Abstract: The propagation of acoustic waves in a homogeneous isotropic semiconducting layer sandwiched between two homogeneous transversely isotropic piezoelectric halfspaces has been investigated. The mathematical model of the problem is depicted by a set of partial differential equations of motion, Gauss equation in piezoelectric material and electron diffusion equation in semiconductor along with the boundary conditions to be satisfied at the piezoelectric-semiconductor interfaces. The secular equations describing the symmetric and asymmetric modes of wave propagation have been derived in compact form after obtaining the analytical expressions for various field quantities that govern the wave motion. The complex secular equation has been solved numerically using functional interaction method along with irreducible cardano method. The computer simulated results are obtained with the help of MATLAB software for 6 mm cadmium selenide (CdSe) piezoelectric material and n-type silicon (Si) semiconductor in respect of dispersion curve, attenuation and specific loss factor of energy dissipation for symmetric (sym) and asymmetric (asym) modes of wave propagation. The study may find applications in non-destructive testing, resonators, waveguides etc.

Abstract: In this paper it is proposed to provide the QoS to the user by using the degradation of service under hostile environment being itself be a parameter to improve the QoS. Here the relation between the service and environment of its best performance drawn on the basis of simulation and analysis .The service then taken as a parameter to decide present environment of the user and to take measurable steps to improve the QoS either doing handover to nearby station or increasing power or to provide some marginal bandwidth etc.All analysis done over a WiMax network i.e. being designed and simulated using the Qualnet wireless simulator

Abstract: Complexity analysis in heterogeneous system is one of the more complicated topics in the subject mathematics for computing. It involves an unusual concept and some tricky algebra. This paper shows how various algorithms take part in heterogeneous system and how they affect the overall system complexity? All analysis and methods are situation specific. Here we show a comparative study of various method and techniques of algorithm analysis giving their specific advantages and disadvantages. We will specify general guidelines for calculating the complexity of heterogeneous system which still gives sleepless nights to the researchers.

Abstract: In this paper we continue our earlier investigations on normal families of meromorphic functions\cite{CS2}. Here, we prove some value distribution results which lead to some normality criteria for a family of meromorphic functions involving the sharing of a holomorphic function by more general differential polynomials generated by members of the family and get some recently known results extended and improved. In particular, the main result of this paper leads to a counterexample to the converse of Bloch's principle.

Abstract: Several types of childhood glaucoma exist, and the terminology is based on the time of onset of disease and its potential cause. Though childhood glaucoma occurs less commonly than adults but can lead to permanent visual damage due to amblyopia, optic neuropathy or refractive error. A detailed evaluation should be done to establish diagnosis. Medical therapy has a limited role and surgery remains main modality for treatment. Childhood glaucoma is a treatable disease, if early diagnosis is established and therapeutic intervention done in time. In children with low vision efforts should be there to maintain residual vision and visual rehabilitation with low vision aids should be done.
Availability Evaluation of An Agricultural Machine (A Numerical Approach)

Abstract: In present paper, we consider an agricultural machine, namely, tractor as a system and its parts-steering box, break, clutch, automobile engine, cooling system and gear box as subsystems. Mathematical modeling of the system is carried out with the help of Markov method and governing differential equations are solved numerically by using Runge-Kutta method of order four. Taking constant failure and repair rates of different subsystems, the availability of the systems is evaluated. Results are analyzed with the help of graphs.
Availability Evaluation of the serial processes in a Paper Production Industry-A Numerical Approach

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to compute availability of the process of a paper production industry consisting of four subsystems. Mathematical formulation of the problem is carried out using probability considerations and the governing differential equations are solved using Runge-Kutta method of order four. Availability of the serial process in the paper production industry have been computed for various choice of failure and repair rates of subsystems of this plant.
Clinical and cytogenetic analysis of human anemias from Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir state

Abstract: Background : Anemias are the blood disorders characterized by reduction in the number of circulating red blood cells, the amount of hemoglobin, or the volume of packed red cells in blood. Chromosomal aberrations have often been reported from the bone marrow as well as cultured lymphocytes of the anemic patients. Aims: The aims of the study were to find out the commonest type of anemia occurring in the population of Jammu, India and to find out the chromosomal changes involved in the disorder. Material and Methods: Present study has been carried out on the bone marrow samples from 53 clinically diagnosed anemic patients. Cytogenetic study was carried out on slides prepared from these samples. Noncytogenetic factors like age, sex, religion, blood groups, family history of anemia, socioeconomic status, etc. have also been included in the study. Results: Megaloblastic anemia was found to be the commonest type of anemia. Centromere stretching, chromatid breaks, gaps, and elongation of chromosomes were recorded in patients with megaloblastic anemia and combined deficiency anemia. However, structural changes and numerical changes were totally absent. Conclusion: The commonest anemia among the people of Jammu region is megaloblastic anemia and its prevalence is increasing every year. Also, megaloblastic anemia is always associated with reversible cytogenetic changes.
New Proposed Classic Cluster Layer Architecture for Mobile Adhoc Network (cclam)

Abstract: Organization, scalability and routing have been identified as key problems hindering viability andcommercial success of mobile ad hoc networks. Clustering of mobile nodes among separatedomains has been proposed as an efficient approach to address those issues. In this work, weintroduce an efficient distributed clustering layer algorithm that uses location metrics for clusterformation and we divided cluster in layers to secure our ordinary nodes. Our proposed solutionmainly addresses cluster stability and manageability issues. Also, unlike existing active clusteringmethods, our algorithm relieves the network from the unnecessary burden of control messagesbroadcasting, especially for relatively static network topologies. The efficiency, scalability andcompetence of our algorithm against alternative approaches have been demonstrated throughalgorithm.
