SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC METHOD FOR ESTIMATION OF RABEPRAZOLE SODIUM IN TABLETS

Abstract: A simple, rapid, accurate, economical and reproducible spectrophotometric method for estimation of rabeprazole sodium (RAB) has been developed. The method employs estimation by straight line equation obtained from calibration curve of rabeprazole sodium. Analysis was performed at 284.0nm which is absorbance maximum of the said drug in 20% v/v aqueous methanol as solvent. The method obeys Beer’s law between 4.08 – 24.5 μg/. Results of analysis were validated statistically by ICH guidelines 1996.
Segment 2 based characterization of a novel Indian Bluetongue virus isolate

Abstract: Aim: The study was conducted to characterize and serotype the novel isolate of bluetongue virus (BTV) isolated from India. Materials and Methods: The BTV isolate was propagated in BHK-21 cell line. Nucleic acid (dsRNA) was extracted using Trizol method and cDNA was prepared using a process called reverse transcription. The cDNA was subjected to group specific PCR using ns1 gene specific primer to confirm the isolate as BTV. The type specific PCR was conducted to confirm the serotype of the virus using vp2 gene specific primers for all the BTV serotype including BTV10. The vp2 gene specific PCR amplicon was sequenced and in-silico restriction enzyme analysis and phylogenetic analysis was conducted. Results: Group specific PCR using ns1 gene specific primers showed a single 274bp amplicon in agarose gel electrophoresis confirmed the sample as BTV. The type specific PCR using BTV10 vp2 gene specific primer showed a single amplicon of 647bp. Remaining BTV serotype specific primers didn't show any amplification. The vp2 gene PCR amplicon was sequenced. The in-silico restriction enzyme analysis of vp2 gene of Indian BTV10 isolate along with other isolates from GenBank database using HindIII, XhoII and ApoI showed a common pattern between Indian and USA isolates. Similarly, phylogenetic analyses using vp2 gene nucleotide as well as deduced amino acid sequence of Indian BTV10 isolate and global isolates showed that Indian and most of the USA isolates placed in a single clad. Conclusion: A novel BTV isolate was isolated and confirmed as BTV serotype 10. Upon molecular analysis Indian BTV10 isolate was found closer to that of USA isolates than other global isolates. Abstract: Data collection represents the most effort-intensive stage of any marketing research exercise, especially in cases sampling frame is unavailable. Sub-optimal bypasses in form of student surveys or surveys employing convenience sampling have become common. In modern era, where laptops and smartphones enable easy accessibility of respondents online, this study utilizes Facebook advertisement as a source of data collection to measure the construct of user experience for interactive products. Modern digital devices, like smartphones, are a source of a variety of experiences for the user. Design teams at various smartphone manufacturers are struggling every day to create products which provide complete consumer experiences. This work not only proposes a framework for describing the same with usability, social value and pleasure in use, but also tests the scales for each by empirical validation. Data collection process through Facebook, as a sample frame, is something yet to be seen in marketing literature. This work goes the distance in not only demonstrating the efficacy of using Facebook advertisement as a viable data collection tool but also developing a framework to measure consumption value. Outcomes of the study, should promote further research using this sampling frame for future research, especially in the area of marketing.
Effect of Deformation of Red Cell on Nutritional Transport in Capillary-Tissue Exchange System  [PDF]

Abstract: A mathematical analysis of a model for nutritional exchange in a capillary-tissue exchange system is presented in this paper. This model consist of a single file flow of red blood cell in capillary when diameter of red blood cell is greater than tube diameter, In this case, the cell must be deformed. Due to concentration gradients, the dissolved nutrient in substrate diffuses into surrounding tissue. Introducing approximations of the lubrication theory, squeezing flow of plasma in between the gap between cell and capillary wall have been solved with the help of approximate mathematical techniques. The computational results for concentration of dissolved nutrients, diffusive flux and normal component of velocity have been presented and discussed through graphs. We have also shown the effect of deformation parameter and permeability on these results.

Abstract: In this paper, we mainly aim to compute the optimal inventory in the phase wise supply chain for queued customers in the interval of lower and upper bounds with particular life of the items. Important performance measures such as total optimal cost of the system and total expected delivery have also been computed by applying the dynamic programming and Drichlet theorem. Finally, numerical demonstration and sensitivity analysis have also been presented to gain the better perspective of the model.

Abstract: An integration technique based on use of Monte Carlo Integration is proposed for Method of Moments solution of Electric Field Integral Equation. As an example numerical analysis is carried out for the solution of the integral equation for unknown current distribution on metallic plate structures. The entire domain polynomial basis functions are employed in the MOM formulation which leads to only small number of matrix elements thus saving significant computer time and storage. It is observed that the proposed method not only provides solution of the unknown current distribution on the surface of the metallic plates but is also capable of dealing with the problem of singularity efficiently.

Abstract: In this paper, a hybrid Fuzzy Neural Network (FNN) system for function approximation is presented. The proposed FNN can handle numeric and fuzzy inputs simultaneously. The numeric inputs are fuzzified by input nodes upon presentation to the network while the Fuzzy rule based knowledge is translated directly into network architecture. The connections between input to hidden nodes represent rule antecedents and hidden to output nodes represent rule consequents. All the connections are represented by Gaussian fuzzy sets. The method of activation spread in the network is based on a fuzzy mutual subsethood measure. Rule (hidden) node activations are computed as a fuzzy inner product. For a given numeric o fuzzy input, numeric outputs are computed using volume based defuzzification. A supervised learning procedure based on gradient descent is employed to train the network. The model has been tested on two different approximation problems: sine-cosine function approximation and Narazaki-Ralescu function and shows its natural capability of inference, function approximation, and classification.

Abstract: This paper documents health problems faced by menopausal and postmenopausal women. These women constitute a sizable proportion of India's population though there exist no health care programmes to cater their specific health needs and health vulnerabilities arose due to menopausal transition. Researchers have generally tried to determine age at menopause and a few have explored psychosomatic problems experienced by them. Abrupt changes in hormone levels among women generally bring out several physical infirmities which have hardly been the interest of research. Studies on menopausal and postmenopausal health problems and their bio-cultural correlates are warranted. Efforts should be made to understand the process of aging among women in relation to menopausal transition. Cross-cultural differences in coping mechanisms to minimise the health problems arose due to menopausal transition are important to study. This review argues provision of culturally appropriate health care programs to facilitate easier menopausal transition and to ensure healthy postmenopausal life for women.

Application of Merged Precipitation Estimation Technique to Study Intense Rainfall Events over India and Associated Oceanic Region  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, an effort has been made to study heavy rainfall events during cyclonic storms and active monsoon cycle over Indian land and associated oceanic regions from recently developed merged rainfall technique using rain gauge and multi-satellite observations from Precipitation Radar (PR) onboard Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM), Special Sensor Microwave Imager (SSMI) onboard Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) and Meteosat of Eumetsat. Four recent cyclonic events namely Gonu, Bijli, Aila and Laila were qualitatively analyzed using rainfall from this technique. This technique is validated against another merged rainfall product TRMM-3B42V6 and rain gauge observations during heavy rainfall events of the years 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010. Results presented in this study show that the heavy rainfall events are efficiently monitored by this technique.
