Notes on Kaszabjbaloghia with the description of a new species from Ecuador (Acari: Mesostigmata: Uropodidae)
Kontschán, Jen?;
Zoologia (Curitiba) , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-46702010000100021
Abstract: kaszabjbaloghia hirschmann, 1973, distributed in south-america, is characterized by the following combination of characters: reduced marginal shield, posteromarginal setae placed on membranous cuticle on the dorsal idiosoma, linguliform genital shield in females, oval or egg-like genital shield bearing one pair needle-like setae in males, and the characteristic shape of peritremes. in this contribution, i provide short redescriptions of the known species of kaszabjbaloghia and describe a new species, k. ecuadorica sp. nov., from ecuador. the new species is similar to k. kaszabi hirschmann, 1973, but differs from the latter in the ornamentation of genital shield of the female and the number of sternal cavities. additionally, we transfer k. hirschmanni hiramatsu, 1978 to hutufeideria hirschmann & hirmatsu, 1977 (as hutufeideria hirschmanni (hiramatsu, 1978) comb. nov.) on the basis of the following: setation of dorsal shield, ornamentation of caudal part of the dorsal shield, shape of hypostomal setae, shape of internal malae and setation of the palp. an identification key to the species of kaszabjbaloghia is also provided. original illustrations and scanning micrographs are provided for all species.
Resurrection of the genus Capitodiscus Vitzthum, 1931 with description of Capitodiscus admirandus n. sp. from Croatia (Acari: Mesostigmata: Uropodina)
Kontschán, J.
Opuscula Zoologica Instituti Zoosystematici et Oecologici Universitatis Budapestinensis , 2011,
Abstract: The genus Capitodiscus Vitzthum, 1931 bearing unique characters in the Uropodina mites, is resurrected. Thisgenus is easy to recognize on the basis of the following characters: insertion of corniculi situated below level of insertions of h2;the pygidial shield bearing long setae. Diagnosis and systematic notes to this genus are given with the description of the secondspecies, C. admirandus n. sp. from Croatia, which differs from Capitodiscus venustus (Berlese, 1884) in the position of sternalsetae and the presence of a well sclerotised court around the genital opening.

Kontschán, J.
Opuscula Zoologica Instituti Zoosystematici et Oecologici Universitatis Budapestinensis , 2007,
Abstract: Nine Uropodina species are listed from different parts of Bulgaria. Four of them (Neodiscopoma splendida, Dinychus perforatus, Trachytes aegrota, Urodiaspis pannonica) are new for the fauna of Bulgaria and two species; Discourella bulgarica and Dinychus rilaensis spp. nov. to the science too. With 13 figures.

Kontschán, J.
Opuscula Zoologica Instituti Zoosystematici et Oecologici Universitatis Budapestinensis , 2008,
Abstract: The species of the family Tetrasejaspidae Hirschmann, 1979 are listed. Three species new to sciences are described and illustrated. Diagnoses and occurrences of all the hitherto known species are given, and a key to all species is presented. With 30 figures.
Notes on the distribution and taxonomy of the Ecuadorian Uropodina mites (Acari: Mesostigmata)
Kontschán, J.
Opuscula Zoologica Instituti Zoosystematici et Oecologici Universitatis Budapestinensis , 2012,
Abstract: Comments on the generic and subgeneric concept of Neotropical Uroseius Berlese, 1888 species are presented. The family Cillibidae is discussed with resurrections of the genus Ungulaturopoda Hirschmann, 1984 and the subgenus Laqueaturopoda (Hiramatsulaqueata) Hirschmann, 1984. Three new species; Uroseius loksai, Uropoda ecuadorica, and Clivosurella pilosa spp. nov. are described and an invasive European Uropodina species Uropoda minima Kramer, 1882 is recorded for the first time from the Neotropical region.
