Frequência e intensidade de poda em pomar jovem de laranjeiras 'Valência' sob manejo organico

Abstract: this study evaluated the influence of frequency and intensity of pruning on young orchards, with organic management system, on the yield and fruit quality of 'valencia' oranges. the trees were budded on poncirus trifoliata rootstock and implanted in august, 2001, in montenegro-rs. the pruning tested was: a - control, without pruning; b - annual pruning of 15%; c - biennial pruning of 15%; d - biennial pruning of 30% and e - three-year 30% pruning of the canopy volume. the experiment had a randomized complete-block design, with four-trees plots and four replications. the total fruit mass production was registered and the average weight fruit in the crops 2006, 2007 and 2008 was determined. the fruit quality, total soluble solids (tss), total acids concentration (tta) and ratio (tss/tta) were assessed. in orchards with fewer than seven years old, the pruning does not change the cumulative yield for three seasons, the fruit quality and its physical-chemical properties. the frequencies and intensities of pruning reduce the yield in the year after pruning.

Abstract: the present trial was carried out aiming to increase fruit set of 'monte parnaso' (citrus sinensis osbeck) navel oranges budded on trifoliate orange (poncirus trifoliata raf.) rootstocks grown in rio grande do sul state, brazil. in june 1996, seven-year-old navel orange trees were sprayed with growth regulators combined or not with girdling and fertilization. in the main plot the following treatments was conducted: (t1) control (treatments in november); (t2) 10ppm of ga3 in august of 96 + 10ppm of ga3 in may of 97; (t3) 10ppm of ga3 in august of 96 + 10ppm of ga3 and 15ppm of 2,4-d in may of 97; (t4) t3 + 5ppm of ga3 in october of 96; (t5) t4 + [0,3% znso4 + 0,15% of mnso4 and 2% of fertilizer n-p-k (26-00-26), on october of 96]; (t6) t5 + branch girdling in october of 96. in the sub-plot, accomplished in november (20/11), they were the combinations of all treatments with: (a) 15ppm of 2,4-d; (b) branch girdling; c) 15ppm of 2,4-d + branch girdling. of december of 96 to august of 97, the number of fallen fruits was counted by tree, and in august of 97 the number and weight of harvested fruits were assessed. the results showed that t4, t5 and t6 significantly reduced the number of dropped fruits and increased the weight and number of fruits produced.

Abstract: aiming to study fruit set increase of young 'monte parnaso' navel orange trees (citrus sinensis osb.), plants were sprayed with 0, 10, 20, or 30 ppm of gibberellic acid (ga3) solution, plus 0 or 1% of mineral oil. two experiments were set up: one spraying the trees twice, on 22nd and 29th of july, 1993, and another spraying the trees on 15th of september, 1993, when it was all at full bloom. in both experiments 50% of the trees were ringed 5 cm down the first branch of the crown. results showed that fruit production decreased linearly with the increasing of ga3, applyied on 22nd and 27th of july, 1993; there was no significant effect for ga3 applyied at full bloom. the spraying of 1% mineral oil decreased harvest by 42%, mainly when applyied at the end of july. ringing increased fruiting nearly to 25% and decreased the average fruit size.

Abstract: the present study was aimed at evaluating the vegetative development of citrus seedlings rootstocks cultivated in different substrates. the experiment was installed at greenhouse conditions in the esta??o experimental agron?mica ufrgs, from september 27, 2001. the experimental design used was that of randomized blocks, in a split plot scheme, with four replications. in the main parcels were tested substrate, two commercial, found in the specialized trade in horticulture and a mixture. in the sub parcels were tested four citrus rootstock (trifoliate orange, 'c13' citrange, 'c37' citrange and 'rangpur' lime). the main results showing that is possible to produce citrus rootstock seedlings with good size and root development, with 120 days after sowing. the chemistries characteristics of the substrate are decisive for the appropriate development of the rootstock seedlings, being harmful the high salinity.
Efeito de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares no desenvolvimento do abacateiro

Abstract: the objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of six arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (amf) (glomus clarum, g. etunicatum, g. manihotis, acaulospora scrobiculata, scutellospora heterogama and gigaspora margarita) on the vegetative growth, of grafted avocado plants (persea sp.), in the rootstocks phase, grafted plant and after transplant to the orchard. the influence of amf in avocado plants varyed according to the endophytic mycorrhiza species under study. the species s. heterogama, a. scrobiculata, g. etunicatum and g. clarum were more effective in root colonization, promoting better vegetative growth of plants on the rootstock phase, during the plant production period and after the transplanting to the orchard.
Influência de fungos micorrízicos arbusculares sobre o desenvolvimento vegetativo de porta-enxertos de abacateiro

Abstract: the objective of the present study was to evaluate the influence of six arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (amf) species (glomus clarum, scutellospora heterogama, glomus etunicatum, acaulospora scrobiculata, gigaspora margarita and glomus manihotis) on vegetative growth, mineral nutrition and carbohydrate contents of avocado (persea sp.) rootstocks. these were cultivated in 5 l bags of black polyethylene containing substrate mixture of soil + silica sand + decomposed bark residue of acacia (acacia mearnii) (2:2:1, v:v:v). the rootstocks were kept in a sombrite (70% shading) greenhouse. two months after amf inoculation, the results indicated that amf influence on avocado rootstocks growth is variable depending on amf species. s. heterogama, a. scrobiculata and g. etunicatum were more effective, resulted in good nutrition and carbohydrate contents of avocado rootstocks, and consequently resulted better vegetative growth of plants. g. clarum only increased stem height of the rootstocks, while g. manihotis did not affect vegetative growth of avocado rootstocks. g. margarita was harmful to avocado rootstocks growth.

Abstract: the objectives of the present study were to investigate the influence of liming and mineral and organic fertilization on yields of cv. 'montenegrina' tangerines (citrus deliciosa tenore) grafted onto poncirus trifoliata raf. the grove was planted in july of 1988 on a dark-red podzolic (rhodic paleudult) soil. the experiment was set up in randomized blocks design composed of nine treatments and four replicates, with three plants per plot. the treatments were: control (without liming and fertilizers); soil acidity neutralization to ph 6,5 before planting; annually poultry manure and liming; annually cattle manure and liming; annually n and k fertilizers and liming; annually n and k fertilizers, liming and p fertilizer before planting; annually n, p and k fertilizers and liming; annually n, k and double the rate of p, and liming; annually n, p and k fertilizers without liming. the results showed that p application before planting were sufficient to maintain adequate fruit yield up to eight years after planting. the increases of leaf n contents was positively related to increases in production and to decreases of the average fruit weight. the ammonium sulphate application acidifies the soil, and requires a greater quantity of liming support.
Qualidade de laranjas 'Valência' produzidas sob sistemas de cultivo organico e convencional

Abstract: the objective of the present study was to evaluate fruit quality of 'valência' (citrus sinensis (l.) osb.) oranges harvested from an orchard conducted according to the conventional system and from an organic orchard production system. the orchards were established in july 2001 at a spacing of 2,5m x 5,0 m, both with an area of 0,25 ha and 300 m distant from each other. fruit quality was determined from 2005 up to 2010 from five samples/treatment collected from five trees every year. the harvested oranges were analyzed for average fruit mass (mmf), juice contents (ts), soluble solids (sst) and titratable acidity (att). the ratio sst/att was as well calculated. only in 2010 ascorbic acid contents and the pericarp color were determined. in the conventional production system mineral fertilizers, dolomitic calcareous, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides were utilized. in the organic production system liquid compost, biofertilizers and bordeaux mixture were utilized. the soil was maintained covered with spontaneous vegetation during the winter season with avena strigosa and vicia sativa and vigna unguiculata were added during the summer season. no differences as to quality parameters were determined amongst both production systems except for sst and ascorbic acid which were highest in the conventional production system. oranges from the conventional orchard also had a more intense orange color in comparison to the organically produced fruit.

Abstract: the mandarin 'montenegrina' (citrus deliciosa ten.) yield from plants propagated either by grafting or cutting was evaluated at the 'universidade federal do rio grande do sul' experimental agronomic station, southern brazil, from 1993 to 1998. three rootstocks were used in the grafted plants. the rootstocks studied were: 'swingle' citrumelo [citrus paradisi macf. x poncirus trifoliata (l.) raf.] 'troyer' citrange (citrus sinensis x p. trifoliata) and trifoliate orange (p. trifoliata). the work was done using a randomized blocks design, with four replicates and five useful plants per plot. the yield and fruits number per plant were evaluated from 1993 to 1998. the 1995 yield was not significative due to alternation. 'swingle' citrumelo rootstock promoted higher productive efficiency in 'montenegrina' mandarins. trifoliate orange decreased the vegetative development but induce low productive efficiency in 'montenegrina' mandarins. cutting was a worse plant propagation strategy than grafting when 'swingle' citrumelo and 'troyer' citrange were used as rootstocks.
Desarrollo vegetativo de patrones cítricos cultivados en condiciones de invernadero bajo dos sistemas de riego

Abstract: the aim of the present work was to evaluate the vegetative development of citrus rootstock seedlings cultivated under greenhouse conditions with two irrigation systems. the experiment was conducted at the esta??o experimental agron?mica , universidade federal do rio grande do sul, located in eldorado do sul, rio grande do sul, brazil, from september 2003 to april 2004, totalizing 225 days of experimentation. the experimental design was a split-plot, in a 2x3 factorial, with 4 replications of 22 pots each. in the main plot the irrigation systems was evaluated (micro sprinkler and capillarity) and in the split-plot the citrus rootstocks [trifoliate orange - poncirus trifoliata (l.) raf., 'c37' citrange - p. trifoliata x citrus sinensis (l.) osb. cv. pêra and 'rangpur' lime - c. limonia osb.] were evaluated. the main result showed in conditions of greenhouse citrus rootstock seedlings presented a great vegetative development under irrigation by capillarity in relation to the micro sprinkler. the evaluated citrus rootstock seedling display different vegetative developments, where the 'c37' citrange was more vigorous.
