Abstract: A Universidade cumpre melhor sua fun o, quando questiona o que está dado e o aparentemente óbvio em determinado momento histórico-cultural, e quando ousa avan ar, debatendo alternativas, construindo pontes entre as várias áreas de conhecimento, em vistas à descoberta de caminhos mais oportunos e apropriados para a constru o de uma humanidade mais plena, em harmonia e equilíbrio com o mundo em que está inserida. A disciplina de Cultura Religiosa1 constitui espa o acadêmico privilegiado para a (re)descoberta do ser humano e do mundo, numa perspectiva transcendente, múltipla e polifacetada, ajudando na supera o de reducionismos que tentam restringir o homem a si mesmo, suas idiossincrasias e interesses imediatos e circunstanciados. The university fulfills its function best when it questions what’s given and the seemingly obvious at a given historical-cultural moment and dares to advance when debating alternatives, building bridges between different fields of knowledge, in order to discover more timely and appropriate ways for building a humanity more fully in balance and harmony with the world in which it operates. The discipline of Religious Culture is a privileged academic space for the (re)discovery of human beings and the world in a transcendent, diverse and multifaceted perspective, helping to overcome reductionisms that try to restrict the man to himself, his idiosyncrasies and immediate and circumstantial interests.

The Church always knew how to take advantage of the technological resources availabre to spread the message of the Bible and its own Doctrine and, not infrequently, in its paintings new means and practices were created and developed. To proclaim the Good News “from the rooftops” relied, over time, on creativity and a reinterpretation that each time engenders and enables to develop.

Abstract: O presente artigo apresenta o que o Documento de Aparecida traz para a educa o católica. Partindo da contextualiza o sociocultural que Aparecida faz no Capítulo II, explicita, conforme o Capítulo VI do Documento, a importancia e a miss o específica que têm na Igreja a Educa o Católica, as escolas, as universidades e os centros superiores católicos. This paper presents what the Document of Aparecida offers to the catholic education. Starting from the social and cultural context, analysed by Aparecida, the Document shows, according to the second chapter, the importance and specific mission in the Church by means of the catholic education, the schools, the universities and the superior catholic centers.

Abstract: Este artigo tem por finalidade apresentar as competências, papéis e fun es municipais no contexto da administra o pública contemporanea, sobretudo a partir do entendimento das fun es dos poderes Legislativo e Executivo como partes inter- dependentes dos governos municipais. Assim, enfoca especialmente a evolu o das novas preocupa es municipais, identificando as fun es que est o ampliando (ou diminuindo) sua importancia no contexto das competências e administra es municipais, apresentando de forma comparativa as despesas por fun es nos municípios brasileiros entre 2006 e 2008, e concluindo com a proposi o de quest es referentes a a es governamentais inovadoras e atributos de projetos inovadores na esfera municipal. The intent of this article is to present municipal powers, responsibilities and functions within the context of contemporary public administration, based in particular on the understanding of legislative and executive powers as interdependent parts of municipal government. Therefore, it focuses especially on the evolution of new municipal concerns, identifying the functions that are expanding (or decreasing) its importance in the context of municipal powers and administration, presenting in a comparative manner the expenses of Brazilian local governments, by functions, between 2006 and 2008, and ending with the proposition of issues in regard to innovative governmental actions and attributes of innovative projects in the municipal realm.

Abstract: in this exploratory-descriptive research, the author looks into the identification of the factors concerning the present work model in rio grande do sul state prisions, brazil. this criticized model is responsible for the difficulties in promoting a reasonable resocialization of the prisoners. simultaneously the author suggests important changes in the conquest of a more expressive achievement toward the expected resocialization. data were collected in examining penal hanbook and references and chiefly by means of semi-structured interviews with twenty prisioners. collected data were analyzed according to content methodology; results are presented in five final categories: (1) prisonal work; (2) prison system identity; (3) ideological resocialization; (4) prisional work influence on personal growth; (5) prisional work conditions. it was noticed that penitentiary administration ignores the importance of a etbter relation among psychological motivation, suffering and a legitimate pleasure in accomplishing prisonal imposed work, in overcoming huge problems and challenges and in reaching the intended prisioners' resocialization.

Abstract: With growing options of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) on the Internet, there is a growing interest in using them to improve, expand and facilitate educational processes, be it in face-to-face learning or distance learning. In order to integrate multiple media, software and resources, facilitate interactions between teachers and students, as well as between people and objects of knowledge, within the environment of the Internet, different processing system solutions have been developed, especially since 1990, in the form of Learning Management Systems (LMS). Some examples of LMS include: MOODLE, TelEduc and Blackboard. The high levels of interest in researching and building LMS usually stems from areas such as Education, Information Technology and Communication. However, this article presents the unique and innovative aspects of the LMS NAVI, Interactive Learning Environment that was developed in Brazil at the UFRGS School of Business Administration by a core of researchers and technicians from different backgrounds, but especially from the field of Administration. The constructed virtual environment brings in tow the influences of concepts derived from Management theory, especially Systems Theory. It differs from LMSs, which are known for the systemic approach of their organizational structures (and navigation), rather than the traditional linear and mechanistic approach. For this reason, it has more advanced properties, especially in terms of adaptability, flexibility, recursion and multidimensionality, as opposed to the rigidity, linearity, specificity and onedimensionality of traditional learning platforms. Due to its innovative character, the platform has received growing academic and professional support, and it is believed that it could constitute a genuine and innovative educational, conceptual and technological solution in the Brazilian context.

Modelagem agrometeorológica do rendimento de arroz irrigado no Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract: the objective of this work was to elaborate and test models to estimate the irrigated rice yield, in rio grande do sul state, brazil. the study was carried out using meteorological data of minimum air temperature, global solar radiation and data of agricultural statistics about the irrigated rice yield, involving six rice production regions of rio grande do sul, relative to crop years from 1982/1983 to 2005/2006. analyses of yield technological tendencies were performed, and agrometeorological indicators for model adjustments of irrigated rice yields were established. there is a technological tendency of increasing the irrigated rice yield in the state. the analyzed meteorological variables - global solar radiation and days with minimum air temperature below or equal to 15°c - can be used as indicators of the irrigated rice yield. the adjusted agrometeorological models, elaborated for the six rice production regions and for the rio grande do sul state, show characteristics of accuracy, easy implementation and low cost, which make them able to be introduced in the national program of crop forecast.
Fonoaudiologia e promo??o da saúde: relato de experiência baseado em visitas domiciliares

Abstract: purpose: to report the experience of slp intervention for health promotion based on domiciliary visits. methods: from conducting domiciliary visits and interviews with a local inhabitant of each visited home we raised general demands in the process of health and illness, as well as the counseling and referrals for primary care services whenever needed. results: 30 families were visited, of which 27 have women as the main emotional and financial provider of the family, and none of these women completed primary school. on average there are five residents per household, with at least 2 children and an elderly, ten visited families do not have one permanent job. children usually attend school regularly. smoking and high rate of dropouts in adolescence were also commonly mentioned. among the 63 children living in the visited homes, delays in language and phonological disorders consist of the most commonly mentioned alterations in human communication, as well as the use of a pacifier and / or bottle. each visit resulted in a brief descriptive report on the findings, as well as referrals and advice were given. systematical discussions were held in order to review the referrals made by the basic health unit team. conclusions: the oral speech therapy related alterations were the most commonly referred to by the visited population, as well as the demand for guidance on the sensory-motor-oral functions. focus has been place on health promotion and education based on domiciliary visits. the effectiveness of the actions performed should be evaluated.
