Revista Educa??o Especial , 2005,
Abstract: The nature of pedagogical work requires domain of specific instructions in various fields of knowledge, in this sense the new languages and technologies are remarkable, considering the different aspects of teaching. The knowledge gained in academic education should be redesigned through continuing education to meet the complexity and diversity of situations that need representative pedagogical interventions, so this study investigated how the VLE, the virtual learning training in the course for capacitating teachers at Distance Education might bring a new concept for this mode of education in the process of continuous training of teachers. Thus, goals, actions and procedures were drawn to address these methodological issues. Assuming that reality can only be understood if considered in its multiple dimensions, the innovative use of technology applied to education, and more specifically, distance education, should be referenced in a philosophy of learning that provides the opportunity of interaction and knowledge construction.

In Brazil, the importance of university education as a way of producing knowledge and accomplishing professional abilities is facing a significant increase. In view of that, the Government of State of S o Paulo has been adopting policies with a view to investing in programs of expansion of university education, aiming at both increasing the number of people able to attend the university courses and expanding the geographic distribution of such courses. Due to the physical limits imposed to the expansion of public university education in the State of S o Paulo, a new concept arises – the virtual education system, offered by the program called “Virtual University of the State of S o Paulo”. A concept of education that exceeds geographic limits. Such program, as one may infer from this essay, allows an increase in the number of people attending university courses at the three main public universities in S o Paulo – USP, UNICAMP and UNESP – by using innovative methodology, which associates the intensive use of the information and communication technologies to the traditional practices of the teacher-student relationship with the quality of the university education. The article describes the Distance Education (EAD) ways, in Brazil, as an alternative form of education in a huge and unequal country, where Education problems have to be solved. The EaD policies will be submitted to a high quality work, using technology and, at the same time, indicating institutional and governmental actions to promote and ensure this modality of education. The challenges within a social practice to an EaD and the ideological and political aspects are discussed and opposed with some groups, in Brazil, particularly and emphatically in S o Paulo State University (Unesp). Afterwards we can conclude that with EaD it is possible to find out solutions to many of our country problems using the dialogue, promoting the interaction and collaboration among teachers and students, who are the ones that will improve the knowledge and learning. Hubbard nanoclusters far from equilibrium
Sebastian Hermanns,Niclas Schlünzen,Michael Bonitz
Physics , 2014, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevB.90.125111
Abstract: The Hubbard model is a prototype for strongly correlated many-particle systems, including electrons in condensed matter and molecules, as well as for fermions or bosons in optical lattices. While the equilibrium properties of these systems have been studied in detail, the nonequilibrium dynamics following a strong non-perturbative excitation only recently came into the focus of experiments and theory. It is of particular interest how the dynamics depend on the coupling strength and on the particle number and whether there exist universal features in the time evolution. Here, we present results for the dynamics of finite Hubbard clusters based on a selfconsistent nonequilibrium Green functions (NEGF) approach invoking the generalized Kadanoff--Baym ansatz (GKBA). We discuss the conserving properties of the GKBA with Hartree--Fock propagators in detail and present a generalized form of the energy conservation criterion of Baym and Kadanoff for NEGF. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the HF-GKBA cures some artifacts of prior two-time NEGF simulations. Besides, this approach substantially speeds up the numerical calculations and thus presents the capability to study comparatively large systems and to extend the analysis to long times allowing for an accurate computation of the excitation spectrum via time propagation. Our data obtained within the second Born approximation compares favorably with exact diagonalization results (available for up to 13 particles) and are expected to have predictive capability for substantially larger systems in the weak coupling limit.
Ab initio transport results for strongly correlated fermions

Physics , 2015,
Abstract: Quantum transport of strongly correlated fermions is of central interest in condensed matter physics. Here, we present first-principle nonequilibrium Green functions results using $T$-matrix selfenergies for finite Hubbard clusters of dimension $1,2,3$. We compute the expansion dynamics following a potential quench and predict its dependence on the interaction strength and particle number. We discover a universal scaling, allowing an extrapolation to infinite-size systems, which shows excellent agreement with recent cold atom diffusion experiments [Schneider et al., Nat. Phys. 8, 213 (2012)].
Alterations at the peptidyl transferase centre of the ribosome induced by the synergistic action of the streptogramins dalfopristin and quinupristin

BMC Biology , 2004, DOI: 10.1186/1741-7007-2-4
Abstract: Streptogramins are unique among the ribosome-targeting antibiotics because they consist of two components, streptogramins A and B, which act synergistically. Each compound alone exhibits a weak bacteriostatic activity, whereas the combination can act bactericidal. The streptogramins A display a prolonged activity that even persists after removal of the drug. However, the mode of activity of the streptogramins has not yet been fully elucidated, despite a plethora of biochemical and structural data. The investigation of the crystal structure of the 50S ribosomal subunit from Deinococcus radiodurans in complex with the clinically relevant streptogramins quinupristin and dalfopristin reveals their unique inhibitory mechanism. Quinupristin, a streptogramin B compound, binds in the ribosomal exit tunnel in a similar manner and position as the macrolides, suggesting a similar inhibitory mechanism, namely blockage of the ribosomal tunnel. Dalfopristin, the corresponding streptogramin A compound, binds close to quinupristin directly within the peptidyl transferase centre affecting both A- and P-site occupation by tRNA molecules. The crystal structure indicates that the synergistic effect derives from direct interaction between both compounds and shared contacts with a single nucleotide, A2062. Upon binding of the streptogramins, the peptidyl transferase centre undergoes a significant conformational transition, which leads to a stable, non-productive orientation of the universally conserved U2585. Mutations of this rRNA base are known to yield dominant lethal phenotypes. It seems, therefore, plausible to conclude that the conformational change within the peptidyl transferase centre is mainly responsible for the bactericidal activity of the streptogramins and the post-antibiotic inhibition of protein synthesis.Structural studies of complexes of both small and large ribosomal subunits with several clinically important antibiotics, for example, macrolides, lincosamides or chloramp
