Psychology (PSYCH) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2016.712142
Abstract: Study assessed the dimensional structure of the Job Content Questionnaire’s (JCQ 2.0) main scales in two different work contexts. We evaluated two surveys among Brazilian workers, comprising 3084 health workers and 489 industrial workers. An exploratory factor analysis with oblique Geomin rotation explored the model, and subsequently, a confirmatory factor analysis assessed the factor structure and possible modifications of the model. The internal consistency of JC scales was assessed by using estimates of composite reliability and Cronbach’s alpha. The structural model was confirmed, with a good fit in the two studies, despite low factors’ loads for some items of “decision authority” and “psychological job demands”. We concluded that the JCQ dimensional structure corresponded to its theoretical framework in the two work contexts analyzed.

Santos, Kionna Oliveira Bernardes;Araújo, Tania Maria de;Oliveira, Nelson Fernandes de;
Cadernos de Saúde Pública , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-311X2009000100023
Abstract: this study focused on the psychometric properties of the self-reporting questionnaire (srq-20) among workers, evaluating internal consistency criteria for the components scales and construct validity. evaluation of the srq-20 performance used data from a cross-sectional study of a representative sample of workers from feira de santana, bahia state, brazil. the construct validity was estimated by means of an exploratory factor analysis of tetrachoric correlations and multiple correspondence analysis. the kuder-richardson formula (kd-20) was used to evaluate the instrument's internal consistency. factor analysis of tetrachoric correlations revealed the extraction of four factors. cumulative explanation of variance was 59.6%. multiple correspondence analysis identified categories according to the groupings of variables comprising the questionnaire. overall and standardized internal consistency coefficient was 0.80. the study indicated an acceptable performance by the srq-20 for evaluating common mental disorders, for use in mental health screening in the workplace.

Arquivos Brasileiros de Oftalmologia , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0004-27492005000600024
Abstract: the main purpose of this report is to describe a case of ectopia lentis et pupillae syndrome, highlighting the secondary ocular complications and their differential diagnoses. a 27-year-old man presented with complaint of low visual acuity. no evidence of the syndrome was found at presentation. the results of supplementary tests were normal. on ophthalmologic examination, visual acuity was finger count at 2 meters in the right eye and finger count at 1 meter in the left eye. exotropia of 25 dioptrics. corneal diameters of 10 mm and 9 mm in the horizontal and vertical meridians, respectively. keratometry readings of 39.00 at 178 x 43.87 at 88 for the right eye and 37.64 at 22 x 42.75 at 122 for the left eye. the biomicroscopic examination revealed iris atrophy in both eyes, absence of crypt and absent iris transillumination. centralized right pupil with regular form and left pupil with inferior-temporal dislocation. opaque lenses with reduced sizes and superior-nasal dislocation. normal intraocular pressure. axial length of 26 mm and 30 mm and crystalline axial diameter of 5.4 and 4.5 mm in right and left eyes, respectively, as revealed by ultrasonography. the differential diagnosis encompasses exclusively ocular abnormalities, syndromes and metabolic disorders. diagnosis of the ectopia lentis et pupillae is fundamental not only to evaluate the risk, prognosis and treatment, but also to assist in differentiating other syndromes with systemic impairment. a visual acuity reduction is normally caused by severe myopia development, cataract, corneal astigmatism, retinal detachment and glaucoma, justifying regular ophthalmologic support for these patients.

Abstract: The survival of patients infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) is related to the prevention and effective treatment of opportunistic infections. It is known that the main parameters to evaluate the progression of disease caused by HIV-1 is the counting of CD4 + T cells and viral load of HIV-1. Regulatory T cells has been considered the focus of intense research within the immune system as well as in the pathogenesis of several diseases. Natural regulatory T cells (Tregs) CD4+CD25+ act in the modulation of immune activation, functioning as critical mediators of immune homeostasis and self-tolerance. Furthermore, recent studies has shown that the function of Tregs cells is not limited to the prevention of autoimmunity, but is also important to control all forms of immune responses in the context of inflammation, infection, allergy, transplantation and tumor immunity. Many authors have identified Tregs as beneficial effector cells in the context of AIDS, but other researchers disagree. Tregs can exert an important role in the immunopathology of HIV infection due to the suppressor activity on cellular activation and effector function. Thus, this review discusses the molecular and immunological aspects of Tregs in the HIV system.

Abstract: this article examines the extent to which the new economic institutional environment, the investment cycle, and the effects of industrial changes are affecting the labor market in s?o josé dos campos, s?o paulo, brazil. in the late 1990s, the region underwent a phase of economic prosperity with a major renewal of its technological complex, increased production, and employment sustained by the aircraft industry. additional factors enter into the analysis: the persistence of a high threshold of overall unemployment throughout the 1990s; the dissemination of new quality and productivity programs with the partial and selective adoption of japanese-inspired production management techniques; investments in the expansion of installed capacity and incorporation of new high-precision, high-speed equipment; a heavy demand by the aircraft industry for specialized engineers and other professionals, leading to a scarcity in some occupations such as quality technicians and aeronautics engineers; and expanded strategies for outsourcing production and services. meanwhile, accelerated globalization of commercial, industrial, and technological activities in the aircraft industry produced a paradoxical trend involving concentration of innovation networks with multinational companies located outside of brazil from the global production chain, and the strengthening of the firm's innovation system as compared to a weakening of the regional sti (science, technology, and innovation) system. thus, although the technological and employment opportunities created in the process have increased and been important, they have been insufficient to spawn more linked and integrated regional development for the local industrial sector as a whole.
