Revista Brasileira de Enfermagem , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-71672004000600013
Abstract: this study is aimed at understanding how the intersectional space manifests itself in the pedagogical relation in an undergraduate nursing course. it is based on merhy's theoretical system, which establishes the intersectional space in the health work process as a moment that can promote the implementation of changes. the utilized methodology is based on a qualitative approach in the style of instrumental case study, using the observation technique in the formal fields of teaching. we have identified a disproportion between the instituted programs and curiosity, reaffirming that the educative process needs to be a knowing act among subjects, in a dialogic relation mediated by words, emotions and knowable objects. we have concluded that the instituting pedagogical relation represents a commitment to the transformation of the health practices.

Abstract: the purpose of this study is to reveal nurses' ideas and contributions on the assessment of cancer patients' pain in palliative care through a proposal of work education based on paul freire's problematizing education theory. we used juan charles maguerez's "problematization arc" as a strategy for data collection. the study included six nurses. the results pointed to three categories: (1) the meaning of pain, (2) the way pain assessment is practiced by nurses and (3) contributions to care. cancer pain is a total pain. it exceeds the physical dimension of disease and extends to psychological and social dimensions. the deployment of systematic pain care routines, enclosed in the systematization of nursing care makes it possible to better redirect the actions, therefore achieving a most complete and effective pain management.

Rodrigues, Rosane Suely May;Reibnitz, Kenya Schmidt;
Texto & Contexto - Enfermagem , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-07072011000200022
Abstract: the intention of this integrative literature review is to better know the strategies for attracting blood donors used by blood banks (hemocenters) in brazil. the bibliographic survey covered national and international publications from 2000 to 2009, of which 39 texts were identified to compose the study sample. the results showed a scarcity of publication on the theme, with the united states, brazil, canada, and the uk publishing most. the strategies found to attract blood donors were grouped as follows: welcoming; campaigns; and educational strategies. we observe the necessity for greater socialization of the strategies to attract blood donors utilized by hemocenters in order to exchange experiences between services and as such contribute to the increasing the number of blood donors in brazil, seeking new donors and their loyalty.

Abstract: the present text consists of a reflection concerning the challenge within the teaching-learning process concerning nursing care. for such reflection, this text presents arguments in the sense of recognizing the importance of reconstructing the learning process, rescuing dimensions that have been denied by the hegemonic hyper-rationality within teaching. a possible path consists of rescuing sensibility, thus proposing strategies that favor the recognition of the multidimensionality of being human, rescuing the complexity of human existence as subjects for care, as well as that of nursing students.

Abstract: this article is a theoretical exercise concerning the practice of nursing -intended as a specific social practice within the environment of health care practices. it discusses the significance of practices on their different levels, looking to comprehend nursing practice as a specific form, identifying its constructive elements. this article argues in favor of a creative and reflective nursing practice, recognizing that such a practice is constructed within a theoretical-practical articulation, founded upon scientific knowledge; a specific social practice that is constituted by the relationship between diverse social actors. our commitment to human and collective health and the preservation of life depends upon this relationship. it is a relationship historically determined -though also determining- through the process of production in health, inserted into a more ample relationship from the respective mode of society's life production, which, on its own is a principal determinant of the process of human living
