Abstract: Survey tinja telah dilakukan diantara penduduk di Kampung Sembalun Lawang, Distrik Aikinal, Lombok Timur, pada bulan Agustus 1973 untuk mengetahui angka parasit usus dan demam keong di daerah tersebut. Dari 146 penduduk yang diperiksa tinjanya ditemukan 99 persen mengandung sekurang-kurangnya satu jenis parasit usus, 85 persen dengan dua jenis atau lebih dan 40 persen dengan tiga jenis atau lebih. Tidak ditemukan bibit penyakit demam keong diantara penduduk didaerah ini. Angka infeksi dari parasit usus tersebut masing-masing adalah Ascaris lumbricoides 96 persen, Trichuris trichiura 84 persen, cacing tambang 25 persen, Entamocba coli 18 persen, Enterobius vermicularis 10 persen, lodamoeba butsehlii 3 persen, Entamoeba histolytica 1 persen dan Giardia lamblia 1 persen. Pada umumnya tidak banyak perbedaan angka infeksi dari parasit usus ini diantara golongan umur dan kelamin kecuali untuk cacing tambang dimana infeksi pada golongan laki-laki lebih banyak dari pada golongan perempuan.

Abstract: Vladimir Pavlov was interviewed by Andrei Katin, correspondent of the “Chance” publishing house, to comment on the town-planning scandal concerning the new Exchange House built on Vasilievsky Island in St Petersburg and the officials’ idea of licensing the architects to permit realization of their projects in the historical city center. Vladimir Pavlov, giving an example of foreign licensing practice, believes that in Russia officials should not be involved in this process. In the case of the new Exchange House the bureaucracy arrogated to themselves the rights provided neither under the Constitution of the RF, nor under our Codes. In this situation Vladimir Pavlov blames the architect, who hides behind the official’s signature. Various dubious instructions and a common practice to cringe before the authorities still, unfortunately, exist. Разразившийся недавно градостроительный скандал, связанный со строительством нового здания Биржи на Васильевском острове, побудил руководящих лиц Петербурга озвучить идею лицензирования архитекторов, желающих осуществлять свои проекты в историческом центре города. Прокомментировать эту задумку мы попросили члена-корреспондента Российской академии архитектуры Владимира Азарьевича Павлова, включенного в 1988 году Международным союзом архитекторов в список пятидесяти выдающихся зодчих мира.
On the Dependence of the Lifetime of an Atomic Cluster on the Intensity of Its Heat Exchange with the Environment

Abstract: The molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo studies of the thermal stability of C20, C36, and C60 fullerenes and the methane molecule are reported. It has been shown that the heat transfer between the atomic cluster and the external heat reservoir can either promote or prohibit the formation of defects in this cluster. The widen temperature and pressure ranges have been determined where the defect formation rate is essentially nonArrhenius. It has been shown that the lifetime of light clusters in molecules depends more strongly on the contact with the heat reservoir. A statistical model that is based on the kinetic equation and allows for an analytical solution has been developed to explain the results. Within this model, the generalized Arrhenius formula has been derived to predict the lifetime of the clusters in an arbitrary thermal contact with the environment.
Dynamic Characteristics of the Low-Temperature Decomposition of the C20 Fullerene

Abstract: A novel algorithm has been proposed for simulating thermal decomposition of atomic clusters at such low temperatures that the corresponding lifetimes are macroscopic and, hence, standard molecular dynamics algorithms are inapplicable. The proposed algorithm is based on a combination of the molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo techniques. It is used to calculate the temperature dependence of the lifetime of the thermalized C20 fullerene until it decomposes at T = 1300-4000 K. The frequency factor and activation energy of the decomposition are determined. It is demonstrate that the temperature dependences of the lifetimes of the heat-isolated and thermalized fullerenes differ significantly.
