The Analysis of Epidemic Network Model with Infectious Force in Latent and Infected Period

Abstract: We discuss the epidemic network model with infectious force in latent and infected period. We obtain the basic reproduction number and analyze the globally dynamic behaviors of the disease-free equilibrium when the basic reproduction number is less than one. The effects of various immunization schemes are studied. Finally, the final sizes relation is derived for the network epidemic model. The derivation depends on an explicit formula for the basic reproduction number of network of disease transmission models. 1. Introduction Disease spreading has been the subject of intense research since long time ago. With the advent of modern society, fast transportation systems have changed human habits, and some diseases that just a few years ago would have produced local outbreaks are nowadays a global threat for public health systems. A recent example is given by influenza A(H1N1). In order to understand the mechanism of diseases spreading and other similar processes, such as rumors spreading, networks of movie actor collaboration and science collaboration, WWW, and the Internet, it is of great significance to inspect the effect of complex networks features on disease spreading. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to carefully take into account as much details as possible of the structural properties of the network on which the infection dynamics occurs. And in the general case, the epidemic system can be represented as a network where nodes stand for individuals and an edge connecting two nodes denotes the interaction between individuals. The degree of a node is the number of its neighbors, that is, the number of links adjacent to the node. In the past, researchers mainly focused the disease transmission study on the conventional networks [1, 2] such as lattices, regular tree, and ER random graph. Since late 1990s, scientists have presented a series of statistical complex topological characteristics [3–6] such as the small-world (SW) phenomenon [7] and scale-free (SF) property [8] by investigating many real networks. On scale-free networks, it was assumed that the larger the node degree, the greater the infectivity of the node, and the infectivity is just equal to the node degree. Under such an assumption, for instance, Pastor-Satorras et al. concluded that the epidemic threshold for heterogenous networks with sufficiently large size [9]. The Dynamics of the Pulse Birth in an SIR Epidemic Model with Standard Incidence

Abstract: An SIR epidemic model with pulse birth and standard incidence is presented. The dynamics of the epidemic model is analyzed. The basic reproductive number ??? is defined. It is proved that the infection-free periodic solution is global asymptotically stable if ???<1. The infection-free periodic solution is unstable and the disease is uniform persistent if ???>1. Our theoretical results are confirmed by numerical simulations. 1. Introduction Every year billions of population suffer or die of various infectious disease. Mathematical models have become important tools in analyzing the spread and control of infectious diseases. Differential equation models have been used to study the dynamics of many diseases in wild animal population. Birth is one of the very important dynamic factors. Many models have invariably assumed that the host animals are born throughout the year, whereas it is often the case that births are seasonal or occur in regular pulse, such as the blue whale, polar bear, Orinoco crocodile, Yangtse alligator, and Giant panda. The dynamic factors of the population usually impact the spread of epidemic. Therefore, it is more reasonable to describe the natural phenomenon by means of the impulsive differential equation [1, 2]. Roberts and Kao established an SI epidemic model with pulse birth, and they found the periodic solutions and determined the criteria for their stability [3]. In view of animal life histories which exhibit enormous diversity, some authors studied the model with stage structure and pulse birth for the dynamics in some species [4–6]. Vaccination is an effective way to control the transmission of a disease. Mathematical modeling can contribute to the design and assessment of the vaccination strategies. Many infectious diseases always take on strongly infectivity during a period of the year; therefore, seasonal preventing is an effective and practicable way to control infectious disease [7]. Nokes and Swinton studied the control of childhood viral infections by pulse vaccination [8]. Jin studied the global stability of the disease-free periodic solution for SIR and SIRS models with pulse vaccination [9]. Stone et al. presented a theoretical examination of the pulse vaccination policy in the SIR epidemic model [10]. They found a disease-free periodic solution and studied the local stability of this solution. Fuhrman et al. studied asymptotic behavior of an SI epidemic model with pulse removal [11]. d'Onofrio studied the use of pulse vaccination strategy to eradicate infectious disease for SIR and SEIR epidemic models [12–15]. The Experiment and results of Laser Ranging to Space Debris

Abstract: Space debris is a major problem for all space-active nations. Adopting high precision measuring techniques will help to produce the reliable and accurate catalogue for space debris and collision avoidance. Laser Ranging is a kind of real-time measuring technology with high precision for space debris observation. The first experiment of laser ranging to the space debris in China was performed at the Shanghai Observatory in July 2008 at the ranging precision of about 60- 80cm. The experiment results show that the return signals from the targets with the range of 900 km were quite strong with the power of 40W (2J@20Hz), 10ns pulse width laser at 532nm wavelength. The performances of preliminary laser ranging system and the observed results in 2008 and 2010 are introduced in the paper.

IgG Expression in Human Colorectal Cancer and Its Relationship to Cancer Cell Behaviors

Abstract: Increasing evidence indicates that various cancer cell types are capable of producing IgG. The exact function of cancer-derived IgG has, however, not been elucidated. Here we demonstrated the expression of IgG genes with V(D)J recombination in 80 cases of colorectal cancers, 4 colon cancer cell lines and a tumor bearing immune deficient mouse model. IgG expression was associated with tumor differentiation, pTNM stage, lymph node involvement and inflammatory infiltration and positively correlated with the expressions of Cyclin D1, NF-κB and PCNA. Furthermore, we investigated the effect of cancer-derived IgG on the malignant behaviors of colorectal cancer cells and showed that blockage of IgG resulted in increased apoptosis and negatively affected the potential for anchor-independent colony formation and cancer cell invasion. These findings suggest that IgG synthesized by colorectal cancer cells is involved in the development and growth of colorectal cancer and blockage of IgG may be a potential therapy in treating this cancer.

Abstract: First in this paper a systematic and comprehensive hybrid index evaluation system of regional logistics competitiveness is designed according to the characteristics of China’s regional logistics system under supply chain globalization envi-ronments, and systematic analysis and discussion of the connotation of the various factors in the index evaluation sys-tem are made. Then based on hierarchy analysis thought and fuzzy decision-making principles, the development trend of China’s regional logistics industry is assessed systematically and comprehensively. With the result of the above as-sessment, the key factors and the gradual evolution process of promoting regional logistics industry competitiveness under supply chain globalization environments are discussed. Also, in this paper it points out that enhancing the strength of urban logistic enterprises will promote the competitiveness of regional logistics industry. And the logistics competitiveness of a few major economic zones in China is discussed with conclusion that discrepancy exists in terms of China’s provincial capital city’s logistics development. At last, development strategies for regional logistics are put forward aimed at the west regions of China which have weak competitiveness in logistics industry.
