Junzi Xia
International Journal of Psychological Studies , 2009, DOI: 10.5539/ijps.v1n2p97
Abstract: In recent years, international communication has become a common phenomenon because of the trend of globalization. This makes culture shock start to be experienced by more people and causes growing concern. This project takes the negative effects of culture shock into account and pays attention to how to minimize psychological discomfort when entering new cultural patterns. First of all, the main reason and the negative impact of culture shock are given. Next, it describes a number of solutions and evaluates the effectiveness of them. Finally, this paper justifies the preferred choice of solution, and then noticeable points are emphasized. Considering that character and disposition may be various among different people, it is found that in order to attain satisfactory results, choosing appropriate methods and reducing psychological stress to the controllable level are very important. This may be helpful for people who are experiencing culture shock to keep a healthy psychology.

ShuLian Wang,YanFen Fang,Yong Yang,JunZi Liu,AnPing Deng,XiaoRong Zhao,YingPing Huang
Chinese Science Bulletin , 2011, DOI: 10.1007/s11434-010-4280-3
Abstract: A TiO2@SiO2 hybrid support was prepared by the sol-precipitation method using n-octylamine as a template. The photocatalyst manganese phthalocyanine tetrasulfonic acid (MnPcS) was immobilized on the support to form MnPcS-TiO2@SiO2. X-ray diffraction (XRD) and UV-Visible diffuse reflectance spectra (UV-Vis DRS) were employed to characterize the catalyst. The photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) and the catalytic oxidation of o-phenylenediamine (OPDA) under visible light irradiation were used as probe reactions. The mineralization efficiency and the degradation mechanism were evaluated using chemical oxygen demand (CODCr) assays and electron spin resonance (ESR), respectively. RhB was efficiently degraded by immobilized MnPcS-TiO2@SiO2 under visible light irradiation. Complete decolorization of RhB occurred after 240 min of irradiation and 64.02% CODCr removal occurred after 24 h of irradiation. ESR results indicated that the oxidation process was dominated by the hydroxyl radical (·OH) and superoxide radical (O 2 · ) generated in the system.

Multiresolution Finite Element Method Based on a New Locking-Free Rectangular Mindlin Plate Element  [PDF]
Yiming Xia
World Journal of Mechanics (WJM) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/wjm.2016.66016
Abstract: A locking-free rectangular Mindlin plate element with a new multi-resolution analysis (MRA) is proposed and a new finite element method is hence presented. The MRA framework is formulated out of a mutually nesting displacement subspace sequence whose basis functions are constructed of scaling and shifting on the element domain of basic full node shape function. The basic full node shape function is constructed by extending the split node shape function of a traditional Mindlin plate element to other three quadrants around the coordinate zero point. As a result, a new rational MRA concept together with the resolution level (RL) is constituted for the element. The traditional 4-node rectangular Mindlin plate element and method is a mono-resolution one and also a special case of the proposed element and method. The meshing for the monoresolution plate element model is based on the empiricism while the RL adjusting for the multiresolution is laid on the rigorous mathematical basis. The analysis clarity of a plate structure is actually determined by the RL, not by the mesh. Thus, the accuracy of a plate structural analysis is replaced by the clarity, the irrational MRA by the rational and the mesh model by the RL that is the discretized model by the integrated.
Over-Investment of Free Cash Flow during CEO’s Tenure  [PDF]
Xia Jiang
Technology and Investment (TI) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ti.2016.73007
Abstract: This paper examines the relationship between CEO’s tenure and their firm’s investment efficiency. Over-investment is greater in the early years than in the later years of CEO’s service. Consistent with prior literature, the results also suggest over-investment increases with firm’s internally-generated cash flow.

Lei Xia
Creative Education (CE) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2017.81009
Abstract:
As an important component of party’s construction, university party is the most important work of strengthening the party’s construction. At first, it analyses the capacity and the research background, significance, etc. of university party construction work which is under the network environment. The paper researches the main party building work of college students under the network environment. Analysis of the ideas doesn’t adapt to the network development. The head of the party organizations at the grass-roots level cannot adapt to the requirements of network times, and theoretical research is not enough in-depth, etc. The paper analyzes the shortcomings of the current college student party building work. Finally, the paper puts forward the countermeasures of college students’ party construction under the network environment.
An Empirical Study on the Pass-Through Effect of RMB Nominal Effective Exchange Rate on Import Price  [PDF]
Alin Xia
Modern Economy (ME) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/me.2017.82012
Abstract: Starting from ERPT model, the paper decomposes RMB nominal effective exchange rate published in BIS into level and volatility, and analyzes the pass-through effects of RMB nominal effective exchange rate into import price from level and volatility under GARCH model. The conclusions are that, the pass-through effect of RMB nominal effective exchange rate to the level of import price is not complete, and the volatility of RMB nominal effective exchange rate has a negative impact on the volatility of import price and also has a time lag. Error correction mechanism shows that it needs about 8 months for import price to return to a balanced level after the changes of exchange rate.
A Review to the Development of Foreign Capital Manufacturing Industry in China: Looking forward to Made in China, 2025  [PDF]
Jiawan Xia
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2017.75045
Abstract: This paper argues China through the establishment of special economic zones at the beginning of reform and opening up, as well as the formulation of “super national treatment” and other preferential policies to attract foreign investment. To now have a large number of foreign manufacturing enterprises’ withdraw behind China’s contrast, is a reflection of China’s economy growing stronger, and is the inevitable result compatible with the “made in China 2025”. This paper hopes to help some enterprises to correctly understand the phenomenon of foreign investment. This paper reviews the different historical periods under the different performances of China’s policy on foreign investment to explore “made in China 2025” by the historic significance, but also shows good hope for the development of Chinese manufacturing industry.
A Reinterpretation of Confucian Philosophy of Education  [PDF]
Xia Yu
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2017.57015
Abstract: Confucius’ theory of learning is more often than not understood in the West as one which emphasises learning through rote-memorisation and the mastery of essential knowledge as well as behavioural norms preserved in the culture of antiquity, therefore devoid of critical thinking. Drawing on Freire and Dewey’s education theories, this paper re-examines Confucian conception of learning, revealing the coexistence of emphasis on critical thinking as well as memorisation of existing knowledge. We have thus argued that the Confucian philosophy of education is relevant even in the twenty-first century as enquiring and questioning are considered central to the quest for knowledge in Confucian learning.
