Cordeiro Júnior, Quirino;Junqueira, Ricardo;Vallada, Homero;
Arquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0004-282X2001000200013
Abstract: two molecular genetic studies were undertaken to investigate the association between a ser-9-gly polymorphism in the dopamine d3 receptor gene and schizophrenia. the first study analysed 141 schizophrenic patients and 189 matched controls. in addition, an haplotype relative risk study was performed using 35 trios (mother, father, affected offspring). no allelic or genotype association was found in both studies. we conclude that this d3 polymorphism is not a risk factor for schizophrenia in our sample.

Revista do Hospital das Clínicas , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0041-87812003000400006
Abstract: laparoscopic operations offer a myriad of advantages resulting in a rapid postoperative recovery. incisional hernia is an uncommon cause of morbidity in operative procedures performed by laparoscopic access, and the diagnosis may not be easily made. in our service we identified 2 patients with incisional hernia the site of trocar insertion. the records of these 2 cases were reviewed. we report on these 2 cases and present a review of the literature.
Prolapso jejunal em gastroenteroanastomose
Junqueira Júnior, Gerson;Reis, Rosilne Jara;Vedovato, Julio Walter;
Revista do Colégio Brasileiro de Cirurgi?es , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-69911999000300014
Abstract: the autors report a case of jejunal mucosa prolapse after gastroenteroanastomosis, a rare postoperative complication. in the late postcholecistectomy period the patient had persistent vomit. upper digestive endoscopy (ude) showed obstruction of the second portion of duodenum, and a gastrojejunal anastomosis was performed. soon after that, the patient had persistent vomit and upper digestive endoscopy (ude) showed invagination of the jejunal mucosa. she was reoperated, a roux y gastrectomy was performed and the patient had a good evolution. the treatment for this complication is basically surgical, which intends to realieve the obstructive symptomatology.

Differing phagocytic function of monocytes and neutrophils in Chagas' cardiopathy according to the presence or absence of congestive heart failure
Muniz-Junqueira, Maria Imaculada;Mota, Lícia Maria;Aires, Rodrigo Barbosa;Junqueira Júnior, Luiz Fernando;
Revista da Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Tropical , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0037-86822004000600004
Abstract: we evaluated the in vitro phagocytic function and the production of microbicidal oxygen radicals by monocytes and neutrophils of 9 chagas' heart disease subjects with heart failure and 9 without the syndrome in comparison with 11 healthy subjects, by assessing phagocytosis of saccharomyces cerevisiae and nbt reduction by peripheral blood phagocytes. phagocytic index of monocytes of chagasics without heart failure was significantly 6.7 and 10.6 times lower than those of controls and chagasics with the congestive syndrome, respectively, due to a lesser engagement in phagocytosis and to an inability of these cells to ingest particles. neutrophils also show in chagasics without heart failure pi 11.2 and 19.8 times lower than that of controls and chagasics with heart failure, respectively. the percent of nbt reduction was normal and similar for the three groups. balanced opposite effects of cardiovascular and immune disturbances may be acting in chagas' disease subjects with heart failure paradoxically recovering the altered phagocytic function.

Odonto , 2009,
Effect of phytase in laying hen diets with different phosphorus sources
Casartelli, EM;Junqueira, OM;Laurentiz, AC;Filardi, RS;Lucas Júnior, J;Araujo, LF;
Revista Brasileira de Ciência Avícola , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-635X2005000200005
Abstract: an experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of the enzyme phytase in diets formulated with different phosphorus sources on performance, eggshell quality and excretion of commercial laying hens. two hundred and eighty-eight commercial hyssex brown laying hens were evaluated during two production phases, which included eight twenty-eight-day cycles, using a completely randomized design in a 3x2 factorial with six replicates of eight birds per treatment. three phosphorus sources (calcium and sodium phosphate, micro-granulated dicalcium phosphate and triple super phosphate) and two phytase levels (0 or 1000 ftu/kg diet) were tested in the composition of the diets. after the post-peak period, triple super phosphate decreased bird performance and eggshell quality. it was possible to reduce the levels of phosphorus supplementation when phytase was added to the diet. besides, phytase supplementation reduced phosphorus, calcium and nitrogen excretions, but affected mean egg weight at production peak.
Abertura do sulco interatrial na retirada de enxertos múltiplos para transplante de cora??o e pulm?es: estudo anat?mico
Tedde, Miguel Lia;Rodrigues Júnior, Aldo Junqueira;Jatene, Fabio Biscegli;
Revista Brasileira de Cirurgia Cardiovascular , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-76382008000200013
Abstract: objective: to evaluate the impact of the interatrial sulcus opening regarding of left atrium gain when harvesting heart and lungs for transplantation. methods: it was evaluated the left atrium dimension, from the right mediastinal side, after the interatrial sulcus dissection in fifty human cadaver. the interatrial sulcus gain was related with gender, age and ethnic group. results: the gain observed through right interatrial opening was, in media, 1.31cm (0.3 cm to 2.5cm). when that value was related to the variable gender it was observed that in the 27 (54%) cases of the male the earnings was 1.19 cm ± 0.6 cm and, in the 23 (46%) female, 1.21 cm ± 0.5 cm (p = 0.895). in relation to age, it was observed that, in the 24 (48%) cases with smaller age than 50 years, the value was 1.08 cm +0.6 cm and, in the 26 (52%) with larger age or same to 50 years, 1.36 cm ± 0.6cm (p = 0.088). in relation to ethnic group, it was observed that the value of the earnings in the 31 (62%) cases of whites it was 1.34 cm ± 0.5 cm and, in the 19 (38%) non white, 1.27 cm ± 0.4 cm (p = 0.589). conclusion: heart grafts and lung grafts must be harvested maintaining adequate segments of left atrium near the heart and the pulmonary veins of the lungs that will be transplanted. although there is no correlation between the observed gain in the interatrial sulcus dissection and the variables gender, age and ethnic group, our results confirm that the interatrial sulcus opening can give access to significant extension of left atrium wall when separating heart and lungs.
