Structural and magnetic properties of mechanochemically synthesized nanosized yttrium titanate
Barud?ija Tanja,Gusev Alexey A.,JugoviDragana,Marinovi?-Cincovi? Milena
Hemijska Industrija , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/hemind111103103b
Abstract: Nanosized perovskite YTiO3 with the mean crystallite size of 18 nm was synthesized for the first time by mechanochemical treatment. The mechanochemical solid state reaction between commercial Y2O3 powder and mechanochemically synthesized TiO powder in molar ratio 0.5:1 was completed for 3 h in a high-energy planetary ball mill in argon atmosphere. The heating in vacuum at 1150 °C for 12 h transforms nanosized YTiO3 to a well-crystallized single-phase perovskite YTiO3. Both samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and thermogravimetric (TGA/DTA) analyses, as well as superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer (SQUID) measurements.
Structural and magnetic properties of mechanochemically synthesized nanocrystalline titanium monoxide
Barud?ija Tanja,Gusev Alexey A.,JugoviDragana,Drami?anin Miroslav
Hemijska Industrija , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/hemind111027090b
Abstract: Nano-sized titanium monoxide (TiO) powder was prepared by mechanochemical synthesis. A mixture of commercial Ti and TiO2 (rutile) powders with the molar ratio of 1:1 was milled in a planetary ball mill for 5, 10, 20, 30 and 60 min under argon atmosphere. The final single-phase titanium monoxide sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), magnetic measurements using a superconducting quantum interference device magnetometer (SQUID) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The temperature dependency of the magnetic susceptibility is characterized by significant contribution of Pauli paramagnetism due to conduction electrons.
Typologies of social deviance in Serbian theoretical thought
Jugovi? Aleksandar
Sociologija , 2007, DOI: 10.2298/soc0701017j
Abstract: The article analyzes the typologies of forms of social deviance created by Serbian theoreticians. The descriptive-critical method is applied in analyzing five important theoretical concepts and their underlying similarities and differences. The notion of social pathology itself is also discussed.
Stigmatization as a social process
Jugovi? Aleksandar
Temida , 2008, DOI: 10.2298/tem0802005j
Abstract: The paper deals with the analysis of stigmatization as a social process. The main purpose is to explain multidimensional aspects of stigmatization. This paper reviews the key theoretical roots of ideas about stigmatization as a social process and explores a notion of social deviance, as well as the social construction and production of the deviance. The analyses indicate the main dimensions of stigmatization as a social process. These are following dimensions: time, spatial or socio-cultural, socio-stratification, gender-consequential, ideological-political, reactive and socio-psychological dimension. .
Public Administration: Main Factor in Successful Management of Coastal Area Development in Republic of Croatia
Alen Jugovi
Interdisciplinary Description of Complex Systems , 2012,
Abstract: The modern society requires a rational, professional, stable and socially accountable public administration that serves its citizens. Analysis of the status and functioning of the Croatian public administration shows that there are still many shortcomings and problems that must be solved. This paper outlines the basic characteristics of public administration as a set of structures and processes aiming to start and implement the policies in accordance with the public interest. Also, it explores the way and the level of success of managing the common good, with special attention given to the management of the coastal area, whereas the management of the coastal area is defined as an activity comprising different levels of management – local, regional, national and international. The author stresses the need to coordinate the different levels and emphasize the importance of organizing the work process and the capabilities of the managing structure. This is necessary because the public administration often makes decisions directly influencing the citizens’ quality of life on a local and individual level. Given that the public administration has a great amount of power in all countries, it must be controlled. The author states that beside self control of public administration it is also needed to conduct the additional control. That kind of control is necessary due to the inestimable value of Croatia’s coastal and other resources. Based on the results of the research the author suggests measures to improve a continued and efficient control.

Ljetopis Studijskog Centra Socijalnog Rada , 2009,
Abstract: The experience in service user involvement in the education of social workers in Serbia is very limited. This fact was significantly influenced by a medical model of social work practice which has dominated the education process. Gradually, as this model has been abandoned, the awareness on the importance of involvement of service users and their carers as partners in the education of social workers has risen. The limited experience, however, reveals numerous benefits of such an approach. The first steps, which relate to the curricular reform and the reform of the social care system, have been undertaken. However, they are not sufficient and it is necessary to continue to develop an organized and structured approach which would provide basic conditions, forms and modalities of involvement of service users and their carers in the education process.

Abstract: Iskustva uklju ivanje korisnika u obrazovanje socijalnih radnika u Srbiji vrlo su skromna. Tome je zna ajno doprinio medicinski model socijalnog rada koji je dominirao u obrazovnom procesu. Postepeno, s nadila enjem ovog modela sazrijeva svijest o nu nosti uklju ivanja korisnika i njihovih njegovatelja kao partnera u obrazovanje socijalnih radnika. Skromna iskustva svjedo e o vi estrukoj koristi ovakvog pristupa.
The significance and role of local self-governments in the population policy of Serbia
Gavrilovi? Ana,Jugovi? Aleksandar L.
Stanovni?tvo , 2011, DOI: 10.2298/stnv1101079g
Abstract: Population should be in the central focus of local community institutions and the local community may constitute its population policy which will supplement state population policy measures, considering the local specific various traditions, values and models of living. The paper's basic goal is to critically perceive the characteristics, significance and role of local self-governments in the current population policy of Serbia. Social situation and social policy characteristics in Serbia are analyzed in the context of the population policy. It is pointed out that poverty, unemployment, the economic crisis, the process of privatization, the issue of system decentralization and social expectations of the population, as current expressions of transition, all have a consequence on the demographic development and population policy. A critical estimation of the activities in the field of population policies which are carried out by local and provincial self-governments in Serbia in the last decade are brought into focus, with a special review to the activities of provincial and local governments in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. As a result of the analysis it is pointed out that the population and social policy measures have been separated since the year 2000 and that they have been directed only to stimulating births and not child raising and that solutions regarding maternity leave brought improvements, however shortened maternity leave for the third child. The new conception of the population policy brought a whole series of restrictions such as: suspension of aid for newborn essentials; discontinuance of the right to maternity allowance; abolishing of compensation for preschool expenses for the third child; children’s allowance lost its population measures character along with considerable tightening of the census and decreasing of amount; the activities of preschool facilities have been reduced only to an educational function, and the terms for realizing rights to preschool education for children without parents and children with special needs have been tightened. The authors point out to the values and principles on which a contemporary population policy of local self-governments in Serbia should be established, such as: stability of established measures, a clear message on the needs of society, compatibility and not uniformity with measures of other bodies, compassion and uniformity with aspirations of couples and individuals, respect for the rights and freedom of man, information availability, equality of birth and raising children in measures.
Radon indoor concentrations and activity of radionuclides in building materials in Serbia
Popovi? Dragana,Todorovi? Dragana
Facta Universitatis Series : Physics, Chemistry and Technology , 2006, DOI: 10.2298/fupct0601011p
Abstract: The paper presents the results of radon indoor concentrations measurements in homes and public institutions (kindergardens) in Belgrade, as well as the results of the radionuclides content determination in building materials from Serbia, during the eighties and up to the mid-nineties of the 20th century. The activity of the radionuclides was determined on an HPGe detector (ORTEC relative efficiency 20%) by standard gamma spectrometry. Radon indoor concentrations on the grab samples of air were determined by alpha scintillation technique (Lucas scintilation cell with ZnS/Ag). Mean effective dose equivevalents of radon and its progenies in closed space were estimated at 0.074 mSv for radon and 1.22 mSv for its short-lived daughters, in total 1.3 mSv.
