Abstract: Recent interests in biochar stem from its agronomic benefits and carbon sequestration potentials in soil applications. As a not fully understood newer concept, adding biochar as a bulking agent to animal manure composting has the potential to enhance the performance of composting process and reduce associated N2O emissions. This short report presents emerging trends and knowledge gaps in this research area, and provides an introduction to understand the mechanism by which biochar impacts manure composting performance and N2O fluxes.

Abstract: With the high speed development of China’s export, a series of problems have initiated. For example, the energy crisis and environmental pollution; more dependent on the export of labor-intensive product, the foreign trade industrial set-ups lifting problem; green trade barriers problem; labor problem and constant reinforce of the demand that enterprises of our country should fulfill social responsibility from trans-corporations, etc. Those problems have impeded our foreign trade competitiveness gravely. Corporation social responsibility (CSR) is one of the means in solving the above problems. The author thinks that export enterprises need to think of dealing the problems with CSR.

Abstract: 2008年11月至2009年10月对分水江水库鱼类资源进行了调查,共调查8船次,统计渔获物142.48kg,测量鱼类标本1304尾,经鉴定共发现鱼类36种,隶属5目、8科、31属;其中,鲤形目26种,占总数的72.2%;鲈形目和鲶形目各4种,分别占总数的11.1%;鳗鲡目和合鳃目各1种,分别占总数的2.8%。群落优势度分析发现,优势种有5种,优势度变化范围0.38~0.61。多样性指数分析表明,鱼类种群丰富度指数(D)值为1.14~5.42,Shannon-Wiener多样度指数(H’)为0.69~2.60,种类均匀度指数(J’)为0.31~1.21。鱼类群落的季节差异性较高,种类变化波动以夏季最大。

Deformations of Q-curvature I

Abstract: In this article, we investigate deformation problems of $Q$-curvature on closed Riemannian manifolds. One of the most crucial notions we use is the $Q$-singular space, which was introduced by Chang-Gursky-Yang during 1990's. Inspired by the early work of Fischer-Marsden, we derived several results about geometry related to $Q$-curvature. It includes classifications for nonnegative Einstein $Q$-singular spaces, linearized stability of non-$Q$-singular spaces and a local rigidity result for flat manifolds with nonnegative $Q$-curvature. As for global results, we showed that any smooth function can be realized as a $Q$-curvature on generic $Q$-flat manifolds, while on the contrary a locally conformally flat metric on $n$-tori with nonnegative $Q$-curvature has to be flat. In particular, there is no metric with nonnegative $Q$-curvature on $4$-tori unless it is flat.
Expression and Significance of IL-6 and bFGF in Human Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: To detect the expression and pathological significances of Interleukin-6 (IL-6) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC). Methods: A tissue array was analyzed immunohistochemically. The expression levels of IL-6 and bFGF in tissues were recorded semi-quantitatively. Results: The positive expression of IL-6 in normal, benign tumor, and carcinoma groups was 12.50% ± 5.575%, 39.00% ± 1.41%, 77.26% ± 17.07% respectively, and the expression among the three groups showed significant differences (P < 0.05). The expression of bFGF in benign tumor was lower than that in normal groups and squamous cell carcinoma. The positive expression was 6.50% ± 2.12%, 23.75% ± 4.79%, 42.33% ± 29.89% respectively, and the expression among the three groups showed significant differences (P < 0.05). Furthermore, there were positive correlations between IL-6 and bFGF (P < 0.05). Conclusion: It indicates that combining immunohistochemical examination of IL-6 and bFGF has an important reference value on the pathological diagnosis of tongue squamous cell carcinoma.
Multilayer Perceptron for Prediction of 2006 World Cup Football Game

Abstract: Multilayer perceptron (MLP) with back-propagation learning rule is adopted to predict the winning rates of two teams according to their official statistical data of 2006 World Cup Football Game at the previous stages. There are training samples from three classes: win, draw, and loss. At the new stage, new training samples are selected from the previous stages and are added to the training samples, then we retrain the neural network. It is a type of on-line learning. The 8 features are selected with ad hoc choice. We use the theorem of Mirchandani and Cao to determine the number of hidden nodes. And after the testing in the learning convergence, the MLP is determined as 8-2-3 model. The learning rate and momentum coefficient are determined in the cross-learning. The prediction accuracy achieves 75% if the draw games are excluded. 1. Introduction Neural network methods had been used in the analysis of sport data and had good performance. Purucker employed the supervised and unsupervised neural networks to analyze and predict the winning rate of National Football League (NFL), and found that multilayer perceptron neural network (MLP) with supervised learning performed better than Kohonen’s self-organizing map network with unsupervised learning [1]. Condon et al. used MPL to predict the score of a country which participated in the 1996 Summer Olympic Games [2]. And the result outperformed that of regression model. Rotshtein et al. used the fuzzy model with genetic algorithm and neural network to predict the football game of Finland [3]. Silva et al. used MLP to build the non-linear relationship between factors and swimming performance to estimate the performance of swimmers, and the difference between the true and the estimated result was low [4]. However, there are few discussions on the parameter determination of MLP in different applications. Here, we adopt the supervised multilayer perceptron neural network with error back-propagation learning rule (BP) to predict the winning rate of 2006 World Cup Football Game (WCFG). We use the theorem to determine the number of hidden nodes. Also we determine the learning rate and momentum coefficient by the less average time and deviation time in the cross-learning. According to the schedule of 2006 WCFG, shown in Figure 1, there are 32 teams in this competition and overall 64 matches at 5 stages in this tournament from the beginning to the end. Rituximab for Children with Immune Thrombocytopenia: A Systematic Review

Abstract: Background Rituximab has been widely used off-label as a second line treatment for children with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP). However, its role in the management of pediatric ITP requires clarification. To understand and interpret the available evidence, we conducted a systematic review to assess the efficacy and safety of rituximab for children with ITP. Methodology/Principal Findings We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, CBM, CNKI, abstract databases of American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology and Pediatric Academic Society. Clinical studies published in full text or abstract only in any language that met predefined inclusion criteria were eligible. Efficacy analysis was restricted to studies enrolling 5 or more patients. Safety was evaluated from all studies that reported data of toxicity. 14 studies (323 patients) were included for efficacy assessment in children with primary ITP. The pooled complete response (platelet count ≥100×109/L) and response (platelet count ≥30×109/L) rate after rituximab treatment were 39% (95% CI, 30% to 49%) and 68% (95%CI, 58% to 77%), respectively, with median response duration of 12.8 month. 4 studies (29 patients) were included for efficacy assessment in children with secondary ITP. 11 (64.7%) of 17 patients associated with Evans syndrome achieved response. All 6 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus associated ITP and all 6 patients with autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome associated ITP achieved response. 91 patients experienced 108 adverse events associated with rituximab, among that, 91 (84.3%) were mild to moderate, and no death was reported. Conclusions/Significance Randomized controlled studies on effect of rituximab for children with ITP are urgently needed, although a series of uncontrolled studies found that rituximab resulted in a good platelet count response both in children with primary and children secondary ITP. Most adverse events associated with rituximab were mild to moderate, and no death was reported.

Abstract: 本文介绍了原油和岩石可溶有机质的单分子烃C同位素分析方法。通过饱和烃样品预处理与未处理、标准样品及其加入异构烷烃后的对比试验以及常见的3种基线模式数据处理方法的讨论。分析了单分子烃C同位素测定的误差来源,阐明了正构烷烃与异构烷烃预分离处理、色谱升温程序和数据处理是影响单分子烃C同位素测定结果的重要因素。指出采用尿素络合法或5A分子筛吸附法进行样品预分离处理,选择单一升温速率或在待测化合物溢出的时间范围内保持较平缓的升温梯度,对多拐点基线模式进行分段数据处理等方法可提高分析结果的精度和准确度。
