Characterization of Doped Amorphous Silicon Thin Films through the Investigation of Dopant Elements by Glow Discharge Spectrometry: A Correlation of Conductivity and Bandgap Energy Measurements

Abstract: The determination of optical parameters, such as absorption and extinction coefficients, refractive index and the bandgap energy, is crucial to understand the behavior and final efficiency of thin film solar cells based on hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H). The influence of small variations of the gas flow rates used for the preparation of the p-a-SiC:H layer on the bandgap energy, as well as on the dopant elements concentration, thickness and conductivity of the p-layer, is investigated in this work using several complementary techniques. UV-NIR spectrophotometry and ellipsometry were used for the determination of bandgap energies of four p-a-SiC:H thin films, prepared by using different B 2H 6 and SiH 4 fluxes (B 2H 6 from 12 sccm to 20 sccm and SiH 4 from 6 sccm to 10 sccm). Moreover, radiofrequency glow discharge optical emission spectrometry technique was used for depth profiling characterization of p-a-SiC:H thin films and valuable information about dopant elements concentration and distribution throughout the coating was found. Finally, a direct relationship between the conductivity of p-a-SiC:H thin films and the dopant elements concentration, particularly boron and carbon, was observed for the four selected samples.

Abstract: Este texto analiza algunas tendencias teórico/metodológicas que dominan la producción antropológica actual, y que tienden a sesgar, ocultar o excluir procesos, problemas e incluso actores sociales, pese a que estos pueden ser decisivos para la comprensión, por lo menos, de ciertos aspectos de las realidades estudiadas. Se analiza especialmente la tendencia a no reflexionar -y menos incluir- sobre el papel de los presupuestos socioideológicos en el desarrollo de las investigaciones; así como a reducir la mayoría de los estudios a la descripción y análisis de las representaciones sociales, narrativas, discursos, "historias" y/o experiencias sin incluir la descripción y análisis de las prácticas, por no tomarlas en cuenta o por suponer explícita o tácitamente que las representaciones sociales, las narrativas o las experiencias equivalen a las prácticas. Por último se proponen varios criterios metodológicos que tal vez posibilitarían reducir el efecto negativo de las tendencias teórico/metodológicas analizadas. Abstract: The retroviral RNA genome encodes for three enzymes essential for virus replication: (i) the viral protease (PR), that converts the immature virion into a mature virus through the cleavage of precursor polypeptides; (ii) the reverse transcriptase (RT), responsible for the conversion of the single-stranded genomic RNA into double-stranded proviral DNA; and (iii) the integrase (IN) that inserts the proviral DNA into the host cell genome. All of them are important targets for therapeutic intervention. This Special Issue provides authoritative reviews on the most recent research towards a better understanding of structure-function relationships in retroviral enzymes. Mutation Rates and Intrinsic Fidelity of Retroviral Reverse Transcriptases

Abstract: Retroviruses are RNA viruses that replicate through a DNA intermediate, in a process catalyzed by the viral reverse transcriptase (RT). Although cellular polymerases and host factors contribute to retroviral mutagenesis, the RT errors play a major role in retroviral mutation. RT mutations that affect the accuracy of the viral polymerase have been identified by in vitro analysis of the fidelity of DNA synthesis, by using enzymological (gel-based) and genetic assays (e.g., M13mp2 lacZ forward mutation assays). For several amino acid substitutions, these observations have been confirmed in cell culture using viral vectors. This review provides an update on studies leading to the identification of the major components of the fidelity center in retroviral RTs.
La consejería de salud bucal y su utilidad para la especialidad de Prótesis Estomatológica

Abstract: a survey was done among 98 denture-wearing patients from the health area attended by the prosthesis teaching clinic of marianao that had received some treatment at this service in order to know how oral health counselling may influence the denture-wearing patients. it was found that more than the third part of the patients have a fair or poor hygiene, that more than ? parts brush their dentures 3 times a day, and that most of the patients do not remove the denture at any time and know nothing about subprosthesis stomatitis and self-examination of the mouth . the instructions on the use and care of the dentures are mostly given by dental prosthesis specialists, in a few cases by general stomatologists and never by a dental assistant or family physician.

Abstract: the biblical hermeneutical in the spanish-speaking world has been dominated by an objectivist knowledge paradigm, which supposes its reader as uninterested and universal. post-colonial criticism, when incorporating the contributions from the post-structuralist philosophy, proposes a new perspective which questions some methodologicalideological assumptions belonging to traditional models. it allows the formulation of insight born in liberation hermeneutics, also establishing a new space for interdisciplinary dialogue in the academic context (minorities, ethnic-racial, queer, or gender studies) and culturally diverse in the geopolitical one.

Abstract: La hermenéutica bíblica en el mundo de lengua hispana ha estado dominada por un paradigma de conocimiento objetivista que postula un lector desinteresado y universal. La crítica poscolonial, al incorporar las aportaciones recientes de la filosofía posestructuralista, propone una nueva óptica que cuestiona algunos presupuestos metodológicos-ideológicos de los modelos tradicionales, permite avanzar intuiciones de las hermenéuticas de la liberación y establece un nuevo espacio de diálogo interdisciplinar en el ámbito académico (estudios de minoría, étnico-raciales, queer, o de género) y culturalmente variado en el ámbito geopolítico. A hemenêutica bíblica no mundo da língua espa ola esteve dominada por um paradigma de conhecimento objetivista que postula um leitor desinteressado e universal. La consejería de salud bucal y su utilidad para la especialidad de Prótesis Estomatológica

Abstract: Se realizó una encuesta a 98 pacientes portadores de prótesis estomatológica del área de salud que atiende la Clínica Docente de Prótesis de Marianao, que acudieron al servicio a recibir algún tratamiento, con el objetivo de conocer cómo puede influir la consejería de salud bucal en los pacientes portadores de prótesis. Se encontró que más de la tercera parte de los pacientes tienen una higiene entre regular y mala, más de las partes manifiestan cepillar la prótesis 3 veces al día, la mayoría de los pacientes no se retiran la prótesis a ninguna hora y desconocen en qué consiste la estomatitis subprótesis y el autoexamen bucal. Las orientaciones sobre uso y cuidado de las prótesis en su mayoría son dadas por el especialista de prótesis, en muy pocos casos por el estomatólogo general, y en ninguno por la técnica de atención estomatológica (TAE) y el médico de la familia. El sistema de garantía interna de la calidad de centro: un asunto de coherencia de la institución universitaria

Abstract: Aun cuando la garantía de la calidad de la ense anza y el aprendizaje ha adquirido una envergadura internacional, hasta el punto que puede hablarse de un vocabulario compartido sobre la materia, las diferencias entre los sistemas nacionales son mucho más profundas de lo que podría parecer en un primer momento. Esta es la razón principal por la que resulta pertinente echar un nuevo vistazo al modelo europeo. En este artículo se dará cuenta de los problemas que le afectan - muchos de los cuales son compartidos por terceros países - y cuáles son sus principios constitutivos. A partir de aquí, y con la mirada puesta en su efectiva y adecuada implantación en las diversas titulaciones, se defenderá la necesidad de un modelo mixto, en el que el compromiso institucional con la calidad de la ense anza confiera un papel relevante a los sistemas de garantía interna de la calidad de los centros educativos.
El problema terminológico de la tutoría entre iguales y la afirmación de su especificidad didáctica

Abstract: La tutoría entre iguales ha adquirido un interés creciente en la institución universitaria dentro de la reforma de la educación superior impulsada en las dos últimas décadas. En este contexto, están siendo exploradas las relaciones posibles entre el aprendizaje formal y otros tipos diferentes de aprendizaje que se habían mantenido ajenos a la tradición universitaria. Es con la consideración del aprendizaje informal, y en relación con las teorías de las comunidades de práctica y del aprendizaje situado, que cobra especial relieve la tutoría entre iguales. Este artículo es un estudio teórico sobre dicho recurso didáctico que se centra en dos asuntos fundamentales. Por un lado, el dilucidar el complejo problema terminológico que la afecta. Por otro, el subrayar la importancia de sus aportaciones específicas al aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Los dos son esenciales para reivindicar su singularidad y la relevancia de sus resultados y, acto seguido, para impulsar su meditada integración en la ense anza universitaria. Peer tutoring has gained increasing interest in the university within the reform of higher education in the last two decades. In this context, are being explored possible relationships between formal learning and other different types of learning that had remained outside the university tradition. It is with the consideration of informal learning, and in relation to theories of communities of practice and situated learning, which is of particular importance peer tutoring. This article is a theoretical study on this teaching resource that focuses on two key issues. On the one hand, to elucidate the complex problem that affects terminology. On the other, to highlight the importance of their specific contributions to student learning. Both are essential to claim its uniqueness and the relevance of its results, and then, to foster its thoughtful integration into university teaching.
