Factores contributivos para o sucesso escolar de alunos com necessidades educativas
Morgado,José; Silva,José;
Análise Psicológica , 1999,
Abstract: to investigate the nature of beliefs about educational outcomes of children with special needs we asked 76 special educational teachers (71 women and 5 men) to complete a questionnaire concerning their attitudes toward the following variables - ?curriculum development?, ?teaching practices?, ?program implementation? and ?teacher-student interactions?. also investigated were teacher background variables associated with beliefs concerning schooling outcomes. statistically significant variations in teacher responses were found for the variables of age, teaching experience and experience with special needs students. anova?s comparing teachers? beliefs indicated that subjects aged between 40-50 differ significantly from others. comparison of means showed that those teachers had higher scores on the variable ?curriculum development?. the overall f-test on the variable teaching experience revealed that teachers in the group aged 15-25 had higher scores than teachers who had few or many years of experience on the variable identified above. kruskal-wallis test highlighted differences between groups. the post hoc analysis showed that teachers who received training in special education focused on the variable ?curriculum design?, while teachers with no training emphasized the variables ?program implementation? and ?teacher-student interactions?.
Problem Solving at Provinha Brazil: Implications of Educational Historical and Cultural Theory  [PDF]
José Carlos Miguel, V. P. Silva
Creative Education (CE) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ce.2015.615169
Abstract: This study discusses the methodological perspective of problem solving facing the guidelines of the Reference Matrix Literacy Mathematics Home, Provinha Brazil, and their implications for teaching practice. Leaving ample literature, it proceeds to the documentary analysis of the latest attempts to curricular reorganization in the Brazilian context, with emphasis on categories established based on the themes traditionally broadcast in the classroom. The analysis is based on categories established from the great themes of mathematical science conveyed in the initial mathematical literacy and its implications for social, political and economic. Also it addresses aspects that stand out in discussions with teachers in initial or continuing education process. Results indicate distance between the ideas discussed in Provinha Brazil and the need to establish a satisfactory relationship which allows the meanings spectrum negotiations aimed at reworking of arithmetic procedures to make them more general, less dependent on contextual variables and less subject to errors of various kinds.
The Relationship between Portuguese Adolescent Perception of Parental Styles, Social Support, and School Behaviour  [PDF]
José Castro Silva, José Morgado, Jo?o Maroco
Psychology (PSYCH) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/psych.2012.37074
Abstract: The present article describes preliminary results of a study that aims to analyse the relationship among Portuguese adolescent perception of parental styles, social support received from family and peers and their school behaviour. Participants were 537 adolescents aged between 14 and 16. The “Parental Author- ity Questionnaire”, the “Perceived Social Support-Friends Scale” and “Perceived Social Support-Family Scale” were used to measure adolescent perceptions. Overall, Portuguese adolescents perceive their parents as using predominantly a democratic parental style. Associations between school behaviour and parental styles show that “well-behaved” adolescents perceive their parents as less permissive. On the other hand, adolescents who misbehave perceive their parents as more permissive and authoritarian. As regards the relationship between perceived school behaviour and social support, adolescents recognise receiving greater support from peers than from family, and adolescents who “often behave badly” are those who refer to receiving less social support, either from the family or peers.
Externalismo y escepticismo
Silva Filho,Waldomiro José;
Enlace , 2006,
Abstract: this article proposes what knowledge is from externalist and sceptical positions that attempt to question the cognitive material ?basis? of such a form of knowledge. these ideas are developed departing from the thesis postulated by davidson about the difficulty that is generated by the logical and semantic presumption that it is not possible to think about external objects because of the relativist and contingent nature of what is understood as ?truth?. the sceptical renounces to this possibility of knowledge because nothing is absolute in the external world. however, according to davidson, precisely, it is departing from our construction of an external world, how this world can bring about the conditions that make our rationality possible; that is to say, the diverse degrees of knowledge and truth that serve us to argue about what is possible to know. ?common speech, dialogue and triangulation? are concepts employed by davidson to show the insufficiency of scepticism in trying to deny the ?world of objects? that form part of thought and reality towards which thought is headed and returns. the relationship of thought to the world is organized by the use of language and signification with which we communicate.
O mundo antigo visto por lentes contemporaneas: as extremas direitas na Fran?a nas décadas de 1980 e 90, ou da instrumentalidade da Antigüidade
Silva, Glaydson José da;
História (S?o Paulo) , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-90742007000100008
Abstract: this work analyses the uses of the ancient world by right-wing french extremists as means to establish comprehensions of the contemporary world, aiming at the legitimization of rights derived from origin. it proposes a reflection upon the role of the past in relation to the strategy games and identity affirmations based on the instrumentalization carried out by analyzed groups (grece, front national and terre et peuple). this work was developed considering the premise that the past, its writings and readings are powers and generate powers.
Variabilidade do número de internódios e altura da espiga em linhagens e híbridos de milho
Silva, William José da;
Bragantia , 1963, DOI: 10.1590/S0006-87051963000100008
Abstract: most of the maize cultivars grown in the state of s?o paulo and the cultivars imported from other tropical regions although vigorous have highly inserted ears. this fact makes the manual and mechanical harvesting operations difficult. in order to get preliminary information about the inheritance of this characteristic, two series of data were collected in campinas, related to the number of internodes from the bottom of the plant to the main ear insertion and the ear height. a coeficient of variation of 4.4 per cent was obtained for the number of internodes in seven inbred lines of flint and dent corn. the coefficients for 8 single crosses and 8 double cross hybrids of the lines were 3.4 and 5.9 per cent, respectively. for the ear height in the same lines and crosses the coefficients of variation were 13.3; 9.0 and 16.0 per cent, respectively. the comparison of the internode number and its lenght indicates that the former is less influenced by the environment than the latter and can be advantageously taken into consideration in the selection for plants with low ear height. it is also suggested, based on the lines and hybrids analysed, that the internode number is controlled by factors without dominance while the ear height is conditioned by factors having heterotic effect.
O uso da avalia??o e a avalia??o de seu uso (acerca da avalia??o da qualidade do ensino)
Silva, José Aparecido da;
Paidéia (Ribeir?o Preto) , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-863X2004000300002
Abstract: this paper presents and discuss the main components of an evaluation program of the university teaching quality or teaching excellence, known as circular evaluation. these components are: 1) evaluation of teaching quality from student's judgments, 2) faculty evaluation of their relationship and interaction with students, and evaluation of the academic setting in which their teaching and research activities are carried out, and 3) faculty evaluation of their students' evaluations (meta-evaluation). the purposes and the main advantages of this evaluation system are presented and discussed. the article indicates that, under appropriate conditions, the scales for student's evaluation of teaching are multidimensional, reliable and stable.
Sobrevivência e crescimento de mudas de sabiá em podzólico vermelho-amarelo sob eros?o simulada
Pesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-204X2000000500025
Abstract: the objective of this research was to determine changes in properties of a red-yellow podzolic soil, related to the gradual removal of the plow layer through simulated erosion and its effects on survival and growth of mimosa caesalpiniaefolia benth seedlings. in 1990, the experiment was conducted in a greenhouse of the universidade federal do ceará, in fortaleza, ce, brazil, in layers of 0-15, 5-20, 10-25, 15-30, 20-35 and 25-40 cm which were removed from a red-yellow podzolic profile and contained in plastic bags where seeds were planted and seedlings were grown for 85 days. higher values of clay percentage, available water, k and ca contents and of cec at deeper layers did not reduce the negative impact of erosion on the seedlings survival and growth since they were associated with increases of al saturation as well as with significant decreases in ph, organic matter, base saturation and n, p and mg contents in the soil. as depth of the removed layers increased, seedlings survival percentage, seedlings height, root and aerial part dry weights, as well as total dry biomass gradually decreased. compared to the 0-15 cm layer, at 25-40 cm those decreases were 16.8, 66.3, 67.1, 82.0, and 79.6%, respectively.
Pelvic lymphoscintigraphy: contribution to the preoperative staging of rectal cancer
Silva, José Hyppolito da;
Revista do Hospital das Clínicas , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0041-87812002000200002
Abstract: purpose: preservation of the anal sphincter in surgery for cancer of the distal rectum in an attempt to avoid colostomy has been a main concern of colorectal surgeons. various proposed procedures contradict oncological principles, especially with respect to pelvic lymphadenectomy. therefore, prior knowledge of pelvic lymph node involvement is an important factor in choosing the operative technique, i.e., radical or conservative resection. introduction of ultrasound, computerized tomography, and magnetic resonance have made preoperative study of the area possible. nevertheless, these resources offer information of an anatomical nature only. lymphoscintigraphy enables the morphological and functional evaluation of the pelvic area and contributes toward complementing the data obtained with the other imaging techniques. the objective of this prospective study is twofold: to standardize the lymphoscintigraphy technique and to use it to differentiate patients with rectal cancer from those with other coloproctologic diseases. casuistic and methods: sixty patients with various coloproctologic diseases were studied prospectively. ages ranged from 21 to 96 years (average, 51 and median, 55 years). twenty-six patients were male and 34 were female. thirty patients had carcinoma of the distal rectum as diagnosed by proctologic and anatomic-pathologic examinations, 20 patients had hemorrhoids, 5 had chagasic megacolon, 2 had diverticular disease, 2 had neoplasm of the right colon, and 1 had ulcerative colitis as diagnosed by proctologic exam and/or enema. the lymphoscintigraphy method consisted of injecting 0.25 ml of a dextran solution marked with radioactive technetium-99m into the right and left sides of the perianal region and obtaining images with a gamma camera. the results were analyzed statistically with a confidence level of 95% (p < .05) using the following statistical techniques: arithmetic and medium average, fisher exact test, chi-square test corrected for continuity
Religi?es e saúde: a experiência da Rede Nacional de Religi?es Afro-Brasileiras e Saúde
Silva, José Marmo da;
Saúde e Sociedade , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-12902007000200017
Abstract: the present report aims to show the experience of the national network of afro-brazilian religions and health in the construction of a partnership with sus (national health system), the therapeutic practices used by the terreiros and the relationships of the afro-brazilian religiosity to injuries and diseases. the importance of body care to the afro-brazilian religions was the point-of-departure to carry out the experience of acting in network. in this experience, the leaderships of african religions underwent situations that promoted the understanding of the functioning of the national health system/sus, the evaluation of the services provided for the population, and the recognition of the importance of the social control of public health policies. the report also shows the establishment of an interlocution channel that promoted an approximation between the priests and priestesses of the afro-brazilian religious tradition and the health managers and professionals, facilitating the dialog and the proposition of health actions, respecting the culture and worldview of the terreiros. finally, it presents some results and challenges faced by the national network of afro-brazilian religions and health in its trajectory of actions in partnership with sus.
