Abstract: among neisseria species only strains of n. gonorrhoeae and n. meningitidis are considered pathogens for man. the microbiological diagnosis is made at two levels, presumptive and confirmatory. the presumptive identification of a neisserial infection is made with a gram stain and oxidase test, and the confirmatory diagnosis is made by biochemical tests and serology. we describe two clinical cases of neisseria spp. infection in which the microbiological diagnosis deferred from the initial clinical presumption. the first one is a previously healthy 54 years old man with infective endocarditis by n. gonorrhoeae. the second one is a 25 days old newborn with conjuntivitis by n. meningitidis. we review the literature about these unusual manifestations and discuss the importance of fast confirmatory tests for an adequate medical and epidemiological management

International Journal of Interactive Multimedia and Artificial Intelligence , 2009,
Abstract: The stock market volatility and the actual stock Exchange activity have increased the need of counting with effective methods on the part of financial analysts to achieve a division in relation to the investment actions, being also growing the demand of methodological instruments that reduce and minimize the risks and uncertainty when valuating financial actives and companies. These systems not only must use quantitative information but the inclusion of qualitative information must also bear heavily on them, as an improvement element in the adjustment of these valuating methods, with the aim of throwing a more well-conceived or less mistaken decision. In this work, the use of Discounted Cash-Flow model is proposed, with quantitative information together with the OWA operators as an inclusion method of ualitative information in the traditional valuating models, with the aim of generating an strategic valuating system which allows to develop more agreed and less mistaken valuations

Among Neisseria species only strains of N. gonorrhoeae and N. meningitidis are considered pathogens for man. INTRODUCTION: the aim of this in vitro study was to compare the static and dynamic frictional force generated between surfaces of metallic brackets and glass coated applied by the Sol-Gel method, and non coated wires. METHODS: metallic brackets (0,018 x 0,025”), stainless steel wires (0,016 x 0,016”) and elastic ligatures were used in all frictional tests. All components were characterized using SE M and optical microscopy. The frictional force was evaluated using a machine of tests Testresources in dry environment. RESULTS: the results showed that the stainless steel wires without modification (control group) showed the lowest values of static friction force followed by the stainless steel wires group coated by Sol-Gel method and the wires group with thermic treatment (thermic group). For dynamic friction force, the Sol-Gel group showed the smallest values, followed by the control group and the thermal group. CONCLUSIONS: the evaluated coating did not show a better frictional performance applied on stainless steel brackets in comparison with the control group.
Boundary behaviour of analytic functions in spaces of Dirichlet type
José ángel Peláez
Journal of Inequalities and Applications , 2006,
Abstract: For 0 1 , we let α p be the space of all analytic functions f in D={ z∈ :| z |<1 } such that f' belongs to the weighted Bergman space A α p . We obtain a number of sharp results concerning the existence of tangential limits for functions in the spaces α p . We also study the size of the exceptional set E( f )={ e iθ ∈ D:V( f,θ )=∞ } , where V( f,θ ) denotes the radial variation of f along the radius [ 0, e iθ ) , for functions f∈ α p .

Abstract: This paper is based on the course \lq\lq Weighted Hardy-Bergman spaces\rq\rq\, I delivered in the Summer School \lq\lq Complex and Harmonic Analysis and Related Topics\rq\rq at the Mekrij\"arvi research station of University of Eastern Finland, June $2014$. The main purpose of this survey is to present recent progress on the theory of Bergman spaces $A^p_\omega$, induced by radial weights $\omega$ satisfying the doubling property $\int_r^1\omega(s)\,ds\le C\int_{\frac{1+r}{2}}^1\omega(s)\,ds$.
