Antropologia, educa??o e condicionamentos culturais: pensando as media??es no processo de socializa??o escolar
Lopes, José Rogério;
Educar em Revista , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-40602009000100012
Abstract: the present article addresses the path that the relation between anthropology and education in brazil has taken, naming the anthropologists' concerns towards the study of education. research on this area has turned evident the change in the contexts of cultural diversity, which previously used to focus on subjects and on isolated or less integrated groups, and now points to a place of cultural diversity that replicates itself precisely through the integration of those very same subjects and groups to the model of western development and on the institutional relationship in which the various categories of subjects are today conditioned. the purpose of such new situation, where cultural conditioning, which are traditionally formed in ways of life that hardly communicate, start to establish a speed economy of material and symbolical trades, is still on sketch. however, it is possible to presently discuss the character of the mediations at stake in the institutional relationship, trying to recognize the elements that are important for the analysis of new conditioning movements operating today on the school education. following this line of thought, this article presents a review of the mediation category, according to raymond williams' theory, in order to discuss the structural changes that contemporary society has endured, along with the unfolding in the socialization process (or institutionalization). such review focus primarily on the changes that affect the effective mediation in this process for and through the school.

Lopes, José Rogério;
Horizontes Antropológicos , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-71832010000200016
Abstract: the paper presents a phenomenological analysis of the act of collecting and collectors' purposes in order to understand their meanings in relation to the cycles of people life. start by discussing some theoretical frameworks that explain the habit of collecting, pointing to the search for the meaning of permanence of objects and the environment according to the development and understanding of human life cycles, total or procedural. after, it follows an empirical registration analysis of these senses, according to data collected from web sites and interviews with collectors, which focuses logic of continuity and discontinuity with the explanatory frameworks outlined. the logic of discontinuity outline other possible explanatory framework of the relationship between collections and life cycles, based on the development of a sense perception of the world result to ruptures occurred in the personal trajectories of collectors.
O divino retorno: uma abordagem fenomenológica de fluxos identitários entre a religi?o e a cultura
Lopes,José Rogério;
Etnográfica , 2012,
Abstract: the article analyzes some transformations in the traditional festival of the holy spirit held in s?o luiz do paraitinga, a small town in the state of s?o paulo, brazil. in january 2010, a violent flood destroyed part of its built cultural heritage. that loss lowered the population’s self-esteem and many religious and cultural-policy agencies emerged in the process of recovery. through a phenomenological approach, the article describes and analyzes the dynamics of such agencies in that year’s festival of the holy spirit, showing the identity flows that cut across the fields of religion and culture, and their overlapping in the production of the event.
Processos sociais de exclus?o e políticas públicas de enfrentamento da pobreza
Lopes, José Rogério;
Caderno CRH , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-49792008000200011
Abstract: this paper revises several authors' theoretical contributions that approach the processes of "social exclusion" as a group of references configured historically in the dynamics of internationalization of the economy. this review indicates the need to distinguish among the public policies of "combat to exclusion" and those that self-attribute a characteristic of inclusion, to justify the complementarity of both. categories and analytic elements stand out (such as the current debate between redistribution and recognition, in the field of of rights and of public policies demands) that allow identification of new social conditionings that affect the senses produced by the subjects in vulnerability conditions or privations generated in urban poverty, important to guide a review of the guidelines for the policies at hand.
Os caminhos da identidade nas ciências sociais e suas metamorfoses na Psicologia Social
Lopes, José Rogério;
Psicologia & Sociedade , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822002000100002
Abstract: to think on the identity's category and its application in social psychology lead to a review of some epistemological presuppositions. the concept appears simultaneously in anthropology and psychology, as a theoretical "corpus" that emerges at certain historical moment, with distinguishable answers to the problematical of human attitudes. the development of the category was characterized by irregular approaches and distinctions between the human and social sciences, aiming to demarcate fields of knowledge that do not support themselves separately any more. it is proposed a discourse that analyses the limits and imbrications built in the utilization of the category in social sciences, aiming to understand how the new empiric and theoretical records of the question were produced. the analysis points towards a reasoning upon the interdisciplinary character that is in the basis of the category, based on a methodological approach that allows overcoming the rigid parameters that delimit the borders between the fields of knowledge in the social sciences, including the social psychology
" Exclus?o social" e controle social: estratégias contemporaneas de redu??o da sujeiticidade
Lopes, José Rogério;
Psicologia & Sociedade , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-71822006000200003
Abstract: "social exclusion" processes establish a range of historically determined references within the economic internationalization under neoliberal orientation. these processes have been studied and presented in a diffuse way by social science and, above all, by economic analyses and policies. this approach, however, reduces the heuristic and the interdisciplinary potential to discuss the question. my purpose here is to stimulate debate on how to rescue this potential, based on the conception that "social exclusion" makes a new form of social control and reduces the potential for subjectness, on behalf of the supremacy of the westernizing model historically imposed by capitalism development.
A quest?o social da terra como desafio para a psicologia
Lopes, José Rogério;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722007000300015
Abstract: processes in the problematization of the social issue of land in brazilian society are discussed in an attempt to question its current unfolding within psychological studies. based on the notion of "co-existential space", reflections are envisaged to identify the conceptual oppositions concerning the analysis of the social issue of land and its implications for the understanding of modern social struggles in the countryside. current essay points towards certain perspectives within models of rationality and subjectivity that contend these processes, coupled to epistemological and methodological challenges facing psychologists.
Círio de Nazaré: agenciamentos, conflitos e negocia??o da identidade amaz?nica
Lopes, José Rogério;
Religi?o & Sociedade , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-85872011000100007
Abstract: this paper describes the ethnographic records of the círio de nazaré feast, in belém, pará, indicating that the promotion of this event has since brokered diversified bases of identity, generating circuits and flows that converge to a complex and diffuse ritual. this promotion has tensioned the roles of social and religious local actors who seek to take of this religious and devotional good and promoting events that complement the dynamic of the feast. such appropriations show assemblages and conflicts that go beyond the religious sphere itself, but revolve around the central ritual of the feast of círio. form is thus a field of negotiations on the appropriations of the event, establishing a social imperative performance that guides the projects of the actors, such as assemblages of religiosity.
