Assessment of Saltwater Intrusion and Discharges to a Wetland with a 3D Transient Variable Density Flow Model: The Coastal Plane Oropesa-Torreblanca Aquifer, Spain  [PDF]
Ignacio Sanz-Garrido, José E. Capilla
Journal of Water Resource and Protection (JWARP) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/jwarp.2015.79062
Abstract: The proper characterization of coastal aquifers requires modeling variable density flow effects. However, most models estimate processes as saline intrusion based on 2D models with constant density and are rarely calibrated to honor salinity measurements. These facts limit the model predictions reliability, affecting the estimated hydrodynamic parameters, external stresses, and other model outputs that can be critical for planning or management decisions. This paper describes the re-assessment of a coastal aquifer model (Oropesa-Torreblanca, eastern Spain) subjected to moderate-to-high saline intrusion with a transient 3D variable density flow model. Previous models were based on 2D low-resolution grids without variable density effects. The new model honors the observed trends of both piezometric and salinity data. Results show the importance of the variable density effects having on critical outputs as sea intrusion and the discharges to a local wetland of high environmental value. The widespread intrusion process and its current stabilization are confirmed but, compared to previous models, the annual average intrusion is 156% higher, discharge to the wetland increases 30%, and the inflows from neighboring formations increase 22%. The more accurate aquifer models, as well as the new discharges and intrusion estimations, are important contributions for future water and environmental planning decisions in the area.
ACTITUDES SOCIALES HACIA EX RECLUSOS: UN ESTUDIO EXPLORATORIO
Ruiz,José Ignacio;
Suma Psicológica , 2010,
Abstract: the aim of this research was to study social factors related to social reinsertion for ex-inmates. attitudes towards the hiring of released inmates were measured in a non-randomized sample of university students (n=180). results showed less favorable attitudes for hiring sexual, physic or property offenders, and more favorable attitudes towards first offense, young or women inmates. knowing a relative or friend prisoner was associated with some positive attitudes towards ex-convicts.
SINTOMAS PSICOLóGICOS, CLIMA EMOCIONAL, CULTURA Y FACTORES PSICOSOCIALES EN EL MEDIO PENITENCIARIO
RUIZ,JOSé IGNACIO?;
Revista Latinoamericana de Psicología , 2007,
Abstract: the aim of this paper was to know the levels of emotional disturbance -anxiety, depression and post-traumatic disorder symptoms-, emotional climate and culture in several inmate samples. also, relationships between these indicators with social support, external locus, coping, climate, and traumatic/daily events were studied. the sample was composed by 416 inmates (21.6% women), from five prisons of bogotá, colombia. results showed high internal fiability of scales and concurrent validity between variables. higher emotional disturbance was associated with more negative emotional climate evaluation, more external locus, lower age and imprisonment stage, more traumatic events, and higher negation coping.
Risk Management, the integrated perspective. A model that can contribute to full fit the goals of modern Municipalities.
Spikin,Ignacio José Cienfuegos;
Tékhne - Revista de Estudos Politécnicos , 2009,
Abstract: this paper describes the concept of risk and its utility in the discipline of management. subsequently the concept of integrated risk management will be define, intending to set into verification the removal of the traditional barriers of function in which have characterized traditional risk management, in this context, our effort will at the identification of the relevant elements for the implementation of an integrated risk management model in municipalities, and is develop analysis of the integrated risk management literature. finally a risk management program will be propose for municipalities.
Notas sobre aves de la Amazonia (Caquetá) Notas sobre aves de la Amazonia (Caquetá)
Borrero H. José Ignacio
Acta Biológica Colombiana , 1982,
Abstract: During two short visits made by the author to the Araracuara region of the Colombian Amazonia, it was possible to identify and some times to photograph 66 species of birds, some of them new to the area, and others little known in relation to his ecogeographic distribution. Enfassis is made for the need to give greater importance to the sight records and new forms of identification, rather than collecting, in order to document the presence of the various species in the study areas, to adquiere more rapid information and be able to aplly this knowledge to conservation and at the same time avoid the unnecessary sacrifice of the birds.
