La dimensión territorial del espacio religioso chilote: fusión ejemplar del patrimonio tangible con el intangible

Abstract: El poder del patrimonio tangible se identifica durante la celebración de las fiestas religiosas de Chiloé, con las iglesias que ofician de sedes. De manera simultánea, en ese mismo acto, el patrimonio intangible se expresa en los ritos ceremoniales, en las costumbres y en la cultura de la vida y de la muerte. Cuatro casos, de distinta escala geográfica, han permitido demostrar que el fervor religioso es cualificado por una serie de condicionantes de orden físico y social. El análisis territorial ofrece, finalmente, sugerentes conclusiones, conforme sea la categoría de cada una de las cuatro entidades pobladas que se seleccionaron de acuerdo al Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas de Chile (INE).

Abstract: Los acuíferos subterráneos son una fuente primordial del agua que se utiliza en actividades domésticas y agrícolas en algunas regiones de la cuenca del Lago de Maracaibo, Venezuela. En el presente estudio, se analizó el contenido de cadmio (Cd), cobre (Cu), hierro (Fe), níquel (Ni), plomo (Pb), vanadio (V) y zinc (Zn) en 46 muestras de aguas subterráneas obtenidas de pozos someros ubicados en tres localidades de la región occidental del Lago de Maracaibo: una urbana (Sierra Maestra) y dos áreas rurales (Pompey y Viateca). Las muestras se colectaron en varios meses durante un a o de monitoreo. Los metales fueron cuantificados mediante Espectrometría de Absorción Atómica. Se encontraron diferencias significativas en el contenido de Cd, V y Zn en aguas subterráneas de las tres localidades. Las concentraciones de elementos tóxicos como el Cd y V fueron mayores en aguas subterráneas de Sierra Maestra, detectándose en la totalidad de la muestras de esta localidad valores que sobrepasaron los límites permisibles para agua potable, según normativas nacionales e internacionales. Se discuten otras implicaciones sobre la calidad del agua en los acuíferos del área en estudio y los procesos que pueden llegar a modificarla, tales como la contaminación por actividades humanas. Underground aquifers are a fundamental source of water for both domestic and agricultural activities in some regions of the Lake Maracaibo Basin, Venezuela. In this study the contents of cadmium (Cd), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), vanadium (V) and zinc (Zn) were determined in 46 samples of water from shallow wells in three locations of the Western region of the Lake: an urban area (Sierra Maestra) and two rural area (Pompey and Viateca). The samples were collected for several months during a monitoring year. The elements were quantified by Atomic Absorption Spectrometry both FAAS and GFAAS. Significant differences were found in the levels of metals for all locations. Toxic metals such as cadmium and vanadium were detected at higher concentrations in water from Sierra Maestra being their values above the allowed limits, both national and international, for drinking water. Other implications such as the influence of human activities and its contribution to our results are discussed.
Vanishing Abelian integrals on zero-dimensional cycles

Abstract: In this paper we study conditions for the vanishing of Abelian integrals on families of zero-dimensional cycles. That is, for any rational function $f(z)$, characterize all rational functions $g(z)$ and zero-sum integers $\{n_i\}$ such that the function $t\mapsto\sum n_ig(z_i(t))$ vanishes identically. Here $z_i(t)$ are continuously depending roots of $f(z)-t$. We introduce a notion of (un)balanced cycles. Our main result is an inductive solution of the problem of vanishing of Abelian integrals when $f,g$ are polynomials on a family of zero-dimensional cycles under the assumption that the family of cycles we consider is unbalanced as well as all the cycles encountered in the inductive process. We also solve the problem on some balanced cycles. The main motivation for our study is the problem of vanishing of Abelian integrals on single families of one-dimensional cycles. We show that our problem and our main result are sufficiently rich to include some related problems, as hyper-elliptic integrals on one-cycles, some applications to slow-fast planar systems, and the polynomial (and trigonometric) moment problem for Abel equation. This last problem was recently solved by Pakovich and Muzychuk (\cite{PM} and \cite{P}). Our approach is largely inspired by their work, thought we provide examples of vanishing Abelian integrals on zero-cycles which are not given as a sum of composition terms contrary to the situation in the solution of the polynomial moment problem.
Inductive Solution of the Tangential Center Problem on Zero-Cycles

Abstract: Given a polynomial $f\in\C[z]$ of degree $m$, let $z_1(t),...,z_m(t)$ denote all algebraic functions defined by $f(z_k(t))=t$. Given integers $n_1...,n_m$ such that $n_1+...+n_m=0$, the tangential center problem on zero-cycles asks to find all polynomials $g\in\C[z]$ such that $n_1g(z_1(t))+...+n_mg(z_m(t))\equiv 0$. The classical Center-Focus Problem, or rather its tangential version in important non-trivial planar systems lead to the above problem. The tangential center problem on zero-cycles was recently solved in a preprint by Gavrilov and Pakovich. Here we give an alternative solution based on induction on the number of composition factors of $f$ under a generic hypothesis on $f$. First we show the uniqueness of decompositions $f=f_1\circ...\circ f_d$, such that every $f_k$ is 2-transitive, monomial or a Chebyshev polynomial under the assumption that in the above composition there is no merging of critical values. Under this assumption, we give a complete (inductive) solution of the tangential center problem on zero-cycles. The inductive solution is obtained through three mechanisms: composition, primality and vanishing of the Newton-Girard component on projected cycles.

Abstract: chiloe’s culture, geography, history, legends and myths have been a subject of growing admiration. likewise, the architectural heritage, which is related to churches and stilt houses, is also considered a remarkable element of this culture. however, it is worth analyzing a kind of building that has not been properly studied: the spanish defensive fortress. located in places that are difficult to access, affected by weather, these buildings are incorruptible demonstrations of specific events that explain its hazardous developments. a few ruins remain from these spanish forts; such remains should be recovered and incorporated into tourist routes enhances their heritage value.

Abstract: Puesto a prueba desde tiempos inmemoriales, el ingenio humano ha creado verdaderas obras de arte para dar respuesta a condiciones adversas. Una prueba de ello son las azudas o ruedas de agua, fruto de la necesidad de conseguir un eficiente riego de los campos destinados al cultivo. Los babilonios ya supieron de sus beneficios. Otras culturas han enriquecido su dise o y perfeccionado su funcionamiento. Y en pleno valle central chileno se puede admirar, hoy en día, las azudas de Larmahue./ Put to test since the dawn of time, human ingenuity has created real works of art in response to adverse conditions. An example of that are the azudas or waterwheels, born from a necessity to obtain efficient irrigation of field crops. The Babylonians knew of their benefits. Other cultures enriched its design and perfected it and, nowadays, in the heart of the Chilean Central Valley you can admire the waterwheels of Larmahue.

Abstract: Quellón, una de las principales ciudades chilotas, confín de la Isla Grande, debe su desarrollo económico y social a un destilatorio de alcoholes y maderas. A diferencia de la mayor parte de las demás localidades sure as, germinalmente hispánicas y nutridas por la industria maderera de comienzos del siglo XX, la comunidad de Quellón construye su andamiaje sobre los réditos económicos que derivan del destilatorio. Su ocaso, sin embargo, deriva del cuestionable desembarco de la industria salmonícola./ Quellón, one of the main chiloteans cities, confine of Isla Grande, because their economic and social development a distiller of alcohols and Woods. Abstract: La cultura chilota es admirada por su geografía y por su historia. A través del tiempo, el reconocimiento de sus valores ha crecido de manera exponencial. Su capital arquitectónico no sólo son sus iglesias y viviendas bordemarinas. Existe, también, otro tipo edificatorio que, por desconocido, no ha concitado la atención que merece: se trata del variado repertorio de fortificaciones defensivas espa olas –y los lugares históricos asociados ellas-, de las que aún es posible identificar algunos vestigios./Chiloe is well known for its geography and for its architectural heritage, for its churches and costal housing, but other buildings are less known, they have not drawn the attention they deserve: this buildings are the multiple repertoire of defensive Spanish forts – and the historic sites associated with them, of which it is still possible identify traces.

Abstract: Chiloé, en su condición de ínsula, se expresa en una riqueza cultural fuertemente territorializada, capaz de defenderse de las invasivas influencias foráneas. Merece la pena destacar una de las vigas que sostiene su andamiaje cultural: el poder omnipresente de la religión. En este sentido, sobresalen los cementerios chilotes como un ejemplo claro de simbiosis cultural religiosa que se manifiesta en una arquitectura mortuoria singular que enriquece al espacio y paisaje religioso de cada localidad./Chiloé, in its condition of island, it's express in a cultural wealth, heavily territorialized, with a capacity of defense of the invaders foreign influences. It's worth while to highlight at one of the girders that supports its cultural scaffolding: the omnipresent power of the religion. In this sense, chilotes cemeteries project like a clearly example of cultural symbiosis that it's exposes in a singular mortuary architecture that riches at religious space and landscape of each settlement.
