Helal, Diogo Henrique;Neves, Jorge Alexandre Barbosa;
Sociologias , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-45222010000300012
Abstract: this article examines the management of public organizations in brazil, taking into account both the institutional approach and that of the economic sociology. it is a fact that the management of these organizations is affected by the actions of interest groups, especially in brazil, which is characterized by patrimonial practices, among other things. this context forces those who work in the public sphere to constantly face the dilemma of collective action, summarized in the following question: under such conditions, is it possible for the public organizations to act in the collective interest? to answer this question, which is related to the structure-agency debate, this work suggests two responses: one that emphasizes the agency, rationality and the formation of preferences; and another, structural, based on bureaucratic insulation and social inclusion. after such considerations, and for the purpose of illustrating the relevance of the two responses, the article discusses the case of the bolsa familia program (family grant), highlighting the contribution of caixa econ?mica federal and the municipalities for the success of the program. in the end, the authors present their conclusions and recommendations for future studies.

Divis o do trabalho social e arranjos produtivos locais: reflexos econ micos de efeitos morais de redes interorganizacionais.
Gustavo Melo Silva,Jorge Alexandre Barbosa Neves

Neves, Jorge Alexandre;Fernandes, Danielle Cireno;
Revista de Administra??o Contemporanea , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S1415-65552002000100008
Abstract: this work analyzes the hole of variables that measures occupational structure and social class in the process of wage determination in fordist organizations, not only in the direct way, but also as mediators of the relationship between human capital and wage. the functionalist and critic perspectives are considered as the basis of the research hypotheses formulations. the hierarchical linear model does the hypotheses testing. at the end, one concludes that factors related to the occupational structure and social class function as a relevant hole in the process of wage determination of the manufacturing industry in brazil. however it is shown that the class variable (which separates employees from managers/supervisors and line workers) shows more explanatory power in wage determination in fordist organization.

Marine Drugs , 2013, DOI: 10.3390/md11062203
Abstract: Marine Cone snails of the genus Conus contain complex peptide toxins in their venom. Living in tropical habitats, they usually use the powerful venom for self-defense and prey capture. Here, we study Conus crotchii venom duct using a peptide mass-matching approach. The C. crotchii was collected on the Cape Verde archipelago in the Boa Vista Island. The venom was analyzed using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). About 488 molecular masses between 700 Da and 3000 Da were searched bymatching with known peptide sequences from UniProtKB protein sequence database. Through this method we were able to identify 12 conopeptides. For validation we considered the error between the experimental molecular mass (monoisotopic) and the calculated mass of less than 0.5 Da. All conopeptides detected belong to the A-, O1-, O2-, O3-, T- and D-superfamilies, which can block Ca 2+ channels, inhibit K + channels and act on nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). Only a few of the detected peptides have a 100% UniProtKB database similarity, suggesting that several of them could be newly discovered marine drugs.

Alvarenga Neto,Rivadávia Correa Drummond de; Souza,Renato Rocha; Neves,Jorge Tadeu de Ramos; Barbosa,Ricardo Rodrigues;
Comportamento Organizacional e Gest?o , 2008,
Abstract: this paper discusses the results and propositions of organizational knowledge management research conducted in the period 2001-2007. this longitudinal study had the unique goal of investigating and analyzing ?knowledge management? (km) processes effectively implemented in world class organizations. the main objective was to investigate and analyze the conceptions, motivations, practices, metrics and results of km processes implemented in different industries. the first set of studies involved 20 world cases related in the literature and served as a basis for a theoretical framework entitled ?km integrative conceptual mapping proposition?. this theoretical proposal was then tested in a qualitative study in three large organizations in brazil. the results of the qualitative study validated the mapping proposition and left questions for new research concerning the implementation of a knowledge-based organizational model strategy.
THE SOLITUDE OF LATIN AMERICA IN THE GREAT PRESS A SOLID O DA AMéRICA LATINA NA GRANDE IMPRENSA
Alexandre Barbosa
REMark : Revista Brasileira de Marketing , 2007, DOI: 10.5585/remark.v6i1.140
Abstract: In this article, it is investigated the reasons why Latin America has a little qualitative and quantitative space in great press. This study is based on sociohistorical and journalistic aspects. This research demonstrates that the Latin-American continent is separated, because of historical processes, in the “official Latin America” and the “popular Latin America”. While the great press represents the “official Latin America”, the “popular Latin America” is represented by the alternative press. Thus, the myth of the impartiality is broken and it is concluded that, in order to not condemn Latin America to the solitude, it is necessary to develop and study the Latin-American social movements, including its communication processes.
