Revista Espa?ola de Enfermedades Digestivas , 2012, DOI: 10.4321/S1130-01082012000300005
Abstract: aims: determine whether potential correlations between cd117 to and pdgfra might serve as an indication for targeted therapies. material and methods: immunohistochemical expression of cd117 and pdgfra was evaluated in 99 paraffin-embedded gists in conjunction with kit and pdgfra mutational status. results: cd117-positive staining was noted in 93 out of 99 cases. the predominant staining pattern was cytoplasmic, either with or without membrane accentuation; in 44.5% of cases, a clear golgi-like pattern was evident. correlations were found be-tween kit mutation and both cd117 expression (p = 0.006) and golgi-like pattern (p = 0.026). cytoplasmic pdgfra-positive staining was detected in 87% of cases, both with and without membrane accentuation; in 8% cases an evident golgi-like staining pattern was observed. a significant correlation was noted between pdgfra mutations and golgi-like staining pattern (p = 0.001). moreover, 95% of pdgfra-positive gists were also cd117-positive, suggesting that expression of the two markers is not mutually exclusive; most of these had mutations in kit exon 11. pdgfra-positive/cd117-negative tumors had mutations in pdgfra, mainly in exon 18. pdgfra-negative/cd117-negative staining was observed in 15% of cases, all of which displayed mutations in kit exon 11. cd117-positive/pdgfra-negative cases were characterized by mutations in kit, mainly in exon 11. conclusions: cd117 and pdgfra staining are not exclusive, and the presence of a golgi-like staining pattern for either, whilst not pathognomonic, is highly suggestive of kit and pdgfra mutated gists, respectively, and may be used with some reservations as an alternative indication for prescribing targeted therapies.
3-base periodicity in coding DNA is affected by intercodon dinucleotides
Joaquín Sánchez
Bioinformation , 2011,
Abstract: All coding DNAs exhibit 3-base periodicity (TBP), which may be defined as the tendency of nucleotides and higher order n-tuples, e.g. trinucleotides (triplets), to be preferentially spaced by 3, 6, 9 etc, bases, and we have proposed an association between TBP and clustering of same-phase triplets. We here investigated if TBP was affected by intercodon dinucleotide tendencies and whether clustering of same-phase triplets was involved. Under constant protein sequence intercodon dinucleotide frequencies depend on the distribution of synonymous codons. So, possible effects were revealed by randomly exchanging synonymous codons without altering protein sequences to subsequently document changes in TBP via frequency distribution of distances (FDD) of DNA triplets. A tripartite positive correlation was found between intercodon dinucleotide frequencies, clustering of same-phase triplets and TBP. So, intercodon C|A (where “|” indicates the boundary between codons) was more frequent in native human DNA than in the codon-shuffled sequences; higher C|A frequency occurred along with more frequent clustering of C|AN triplets (where N jointly represents A, C, G and T) and with intense CAN TBP. The opposite was found for C|G, which was less frequent in native than in shuffled sequences; lower C|G frequency occurred together with reduced clustering of C|GN triplets and with less intense CGN TBP. We hence propose that intercodon dinucleotides affect TBP via same-phase triplet clustering. A possible biological relevance of our findings is briefly discussed.
TRASMISIóN DE BIENES Y REGISTRO DE LA PROPIEDAD EN ESPA?A: (SEGUNDA PARTE)

Revista de Derecho , 2009,
Abstract: traffic of goods within the legal scope imposed by the will of the particulars is a core issue of interest, not only to the contract parties but to every- one, particularly to the transferor/acquirer creditors and to third parties acquiring rights on the goods. the scope of this work is to analyze the transfer of goods regime "inter vivos" within the spanish law, within the european legal scope and with emphasis on the real state transfers. spain has adopted a peculiar transfer system, due to the fact that general rules apply notwithstanding the immovable or movable nature of the good, and, additionally, other rules are superposed intending to establish the effects that derive from the real state register publicity. the coordination between the above-mentioned rules produces an original result that may constitute the meeting point of different european register systems.

Chacón, Pedro;Sánchez-Ruiz, Joaquín;
Revista mexicana de investigación educativa , 2009,
Abstract: this research attempts to determine the influence of the animated television series, the simpsons, on family structure, based on the drawings produced at several schools in the third year of children's education in granada, spain. from the field of art education we observe the stereotypes and roles that appear, and we analyze the formal aspects present in the drawings (size and placement of characters, configuration of space, etc.). the visual results are enriched by interviewing the children to obtain their opinions. the results show the visual images to which the children are exposed and the repercussions of those images on education at a young age.
Equilibrium measures in the presence of certain rational external fields
Ramón Orive,Joaquín Sánchez Lara
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: Equilibrium measures in the real axis in the presence of rational external fields are considered. These external fields are called rational since their derivatives are rational functions. We analyze the evolution of the equilibrium measure, and its support, when the size of the measure, $t$, or other parameters in the external field vary. Our analysis is illustrated by studying with detail the case of a generalized Gauss-Penner model, which, in addition to its mathematical relevance, has important physical applications (in the framework of random matrix models). This paper is a natural continuation of \cite{MOR2013}, where equilibrium measures in the presence of polynomial external fields are thoroughly studied.
