Abstract: The purpose of the study is to analyze the breeding ratio of a supercritical water cooled fast reactor (SCFR) and to increase the breeding core of SCFR. The sensitivities of assembly parameters, core arrangements and fuel nuclide components to the breeding ratio are analyzed. In assembly parameters, the seed fuel rod diameter has higher sensitivities to the conversion ratio (CR) than the coolant tube diameter in blanket. Increasing heavy metal fraction is good to CR improvement. The CR of SCFR also increases with a reasonable core arrangement and Pu isotope mass fraction reduction in fuel, which can achieve more negative coolant void reactivity coefficient at the same time. The breeding ratio of SCFR is 1.03128 with a new core arrangement. And the coolant void reactivity coefficient is negative, which achieves a fuel breeding in initial fuel cycle.

Abstract: The article explained the relation between word group and words as the form of chain and ring. The saving of controlled words in ring form not only reduced greatly the memory capacity for the thesaurus in the machine, but also solved the extraction of indexing words by the means of ring. This approach enhanced the processing speed of indexing words, and thus the subject indexing was realized.

Abstract: Otoacoustic emission is a hot spot of research in Otolaryngology. Transient evoked otoacoustic emission was thought to be in lack of frequency resolution. To overcome this limitation, the authors analyzed TEOAE signal with wavelet transform. An energy distribution was obtained by extracting the average energy from the different scales of wavelet. TEOAE energy distribution takes the average energy of the normal hearing persons as 0 dB, and 5% percentage at single side as the 95% normal value range. TEOAE energy distribution represents the energy loss and is convenient for the comparison to the pure tone audiogram. This paper shows that quantitative frequency information can be extracted from TEOAE. The method used in this paper provides an effective means to analize TEOAE quantitatively and may be applied to the clinical work.
Controllable synthesis of single-, double- and triple-walled carbon nanotubes from asphalt

Abstract: Single-, double- and triple-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs, DWNTs and TWNTs) have been controlla- bly synthesized by an arc discharge method using asphalt as carbon source. The morphology and struc- ture of three kinds of products synthesized with Fe as catalyst were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), Raman spectroscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). It was found that different buffer gases strongly affect the number layers in the synthesized nanotubes. In the He gas atmosphere only SWNTs were found to be synthesized by arc discharge in contrast to the case in Ar gas atmosphere in which only TWNTs were formed. In N2 atmosphere both SWNTs and DWNTs were synthesized. Our findings indicate that asphalt is a suitable industrial carbon source for the growth of different type nanotubes.

Studies on thermal cracking and secondary reactions in FCC process

Abstract: Thermal cracking and secondary reactions occurred in FCC process were studied by using a continuous pilot riser-type FCC unit. The effects of operating parameters(reaction temperature, catalyst to oil ratio, contact time)on thermal cracking and secondary cracking were also investigated. Moreover, the influence of overcracking operation on thermal cracking, hydrogen transfer and isomerization reactions was particularly discussed. The experimental results show that low reaction temperature, short contact time of oil and catalyst, and high catalyst to oil ratio may suppress the detrimental thermal cracking dramatically, and benefit to hydrogen transfer and the isomerization reactions. In the overcracking operation caused by high temperature, the thermal cracking may be enhanced, and hydrogen transfer and the isomerization reactions may be decreased remarkably, while the condensation reaction between olefin and aromatic hydrocarbons can be enhanced. In the overcracking operation caused by high catalyst to oil ratio, the thermal cracking may be restrained while the hydrogen transfer and the isomerization reaction in the secondary reactions can be promoted obviously. In the overcracking operation caused by long contact time, the thermal cracking reaction increases and the hydrogen transfer and the isomerization reaction appear the same tendency as thermal cracking reaction.
