Aspect-Oriented Formal Techniques of Cyber Physical Systems

Abstract: Cyber-physical systems pose considerable technical challenges, ranging from the distributed programming paradigms to networking protocols with timeliness as a structuring concern, including systems theory that combines physical concerns and computational concerns. Formal specification techniques for such systems have to be able to describe all these concerns. Unfortunately, a single specification technique that is well suited for all these concerns s is yet not available. Instead one finds various specialized techniques that are very good at describing individual concerns of cyber-physical system. This observation has led to research into the combination and semantic integration of specification techniques. This paper proposes a formwork for specifying cyber physical systems based on aspect-oriented formal method, which exploits the diversity and power of existing formal specification languages. There is no requirement that different aspects of a system should be expressed in the same language. So the different aspects can be specified by one formal specification technique or different formal specification techniques. The proposed aspect–oriented formal framework is such a formwork. On the one hand, it can deal with continuous-time systems based on sets of ordinary differential equations. On the other hand, it can deal with discrete-event systems, without continuous variables or differential equations. We present a combination of the formal methods Timed-CSP, ZimOO and differential (algebraic) equations or differential logic. Each method can describe certain aspects of a cyber physical system: CSP can describe communication, concurrent and real-time requirements; ZimOO expresses complex data operations; differential (algebraic) equations model the dynamics and control (DC) parts. Two case studies illustrate the specification process of aspect-oriented formal specification for cyber physical systems.
Aspect-Oriented Development Method for Non-Functional Characteristics of Cyber Physical Systems Based on MDA Approach

Abstract: Cyber physical systems have many non-functional requirements, which always crosscut the whole system modules. That may cause the code tangle and scatter, make the systems hard to design, reuse and maintain, and affect performance of systems badly. AOP is a new software development paradigm, which could attain a higher level of separation of concerns in both functional and non-functional matters by introducing aspect, for the implementation of crosscutting concerns. Different aspects can be designed separately, and woven into systems. In this paper, we propose an aspect-oriented MDA approach for non-functional properties to develop cyber physical systems. An aspect-oriented UML profile is built to develop cyber physical systems. Aspect-oriented UML models are designed as Platform Independent Models (PIM) for target-platform implementation, which deal with non-functional properties. OCL formal language is used to restrict the model in every stages of MDA, and the real-time extension of OCL formal language is made to describe the timing constraints of cyber physical systems. Finally, the model- based development and aspect-oriented approach, the formal methods and the cyber physical system are integrated effectively. A case study illustrates the aspect oriented MDA development of cyber physical systems.
Aspect-Oriented QoS Modeling for Cyber-Physical Systems

Abstract: Cyber-physical systems (CPSs) are physical and engineered systems whose operations are monitored. Cyber-physical systems having quality-of-service (QoS) requirements driven by the dynamics of the physical environment in which they operate, the description, control, management, consultation and guarantee of QoS are very complex and challenging work, Quality of Service(QoS) is directly related to system's performance. This paper proposes an aspect-oriented QoS modeling method based on UML and formal methods. We use an aspect-oriented profile by the UML meta-model extension, and model the crosscutting concerns by this profile. In this paper, we build the aspect-oriented model for specifying Quality of Service (QoS) based on the combination of UML and RTL. We believe that the two types of notation, graphical (semi-formal) and, respectively, formal, can efficiently complement each other and provide the basis for an aspect-oriented specification approach that can be both rigorous and practical for QoS modeling. Two examples depict how aspect-oriented methods can be used during QoS analysis and design process.

Study of Informative Advertising Competition Model in Duopolistic Market with Relative Profit Object  [PDF]

Abstract:
To study how the relative profit object influences duopolistic retailers’ advertising decisions, this paper adds the relative profit object on the Hotelling Model to study its influence on advertising decisions. Through the calculation and analysis of the advertising competition model, we found that the balanced advertising level and product price is positively related to product differentiation level. The relationship between balanced profit and product differentiation level is related to the range of each variable. The balanced product price is positively related to advertising cost, while the balanced advertising level and profit is negatively related to advertising cost. The balanced product price, advertising level and profit are negatively related to relative profit ratio. Commonly, the higher the relative object ratio, the advertising level should be higher. This paper gets the opposite conclusion. Through analysis and discussion, we found that this is mainly influenced by the advertising cost level. As in this paper the advertising cost level is restricted to be high, enterprises will choose to raise price for more profit and lower advertising level to reduce cost while the relative profit ratio increases.
Are Mispricings Long-Lasting or Short-Lived? Evidence from S & P 500 Index ETF Options  [PDF]

Abstract: A rapidly growing literature has documented evidences suggesting the mispricing of options. Building on recent results of option pricing bounds imposed by stochastic dominance, this paper examines the time-series proprieties of such mispricing. In an application to high-frequency bid/ask quotes of S & P 500 index ETF options, this paper provides evidences that most violations of the stochastic dominance bounds last no more than 10 trading hours. The typical duration of mispricing is even shorter for near to maturity options. The results imply that the observed widespread mispricing in options might be the result of temporary inefficiency (e.g. transaction costs, overreaction, liquidity etc.) rather than a model misspecification, such as estimation biases of the parameters, or an overlooked persistent risk factor.

Combining the information from “Xiang Piao Piao Foods Co., Ltd. initial public offering of shares and listing prospectus” published by China Securities Regulatory Commission, this paper analyzes the important role of brand equity for promoting the development of enterprise.
How Institutional Distance and International Experience Affect the Success or Failure of Foreign Direct Investment by Chinese Enterprises?  [PDF]

Abstract:
With the sample of 2571 foreign direct investment of multinational enterprises in China from 2005 to 2016, the Logit model is used in this paper to empirically test the influence of host country system differences and international experience on the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises. Our empirical findings are: the greater the difference in institutional distance (whether positive or negative), the larger the possibility that foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises will fail, that is, the institutional distance is featured by “symmetric effect” on the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises; as a “distance bridging” variable, international experience has regulatory effect that weakens the negative effect of institutional distance on Chinese enterprises’ overseas direct investment success rate in the negative institutional distance, but has no regulating effect in the positive institutional distance, which is featured by “asymmetric effect”; the adjustment of institutional distance to the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises has industry characteristics. When Chinese enterprises directly invest in “sensitive” industries, the adjustment effect of international experience on the relationship between negative institutional distance and investment success or failure is less obvious than that in “non-sensitive” industries. In addition, the sample data of foreign investment by China’s multinational corporation in the “Belt and Road” countries are examined, which is consistent with conclusions. The research results also show that the host country’s dependence on trade, infrastructure and strategic resources are all important factors affecting the success or failure of foreign direct investment of Chinese multinational enterprises. According to the above conclusions, some suggestions and countermeasures are proposed in this paper.
Effects of the Nanostructured Fe-V-Nb Modificators on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Si-Mn Steel

Abstract: The nanostructured Fe-V-Nb master alloy was prepared in vacuum rapid quenching furnace and then was added in the steel melts as modificators before casting. Next, the effects of the nanostructured Fe-V-Nb modificators on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the steel were studied. The results show that the grain size of the steel has been effectively refined, which is mainly because the dispersed nanoscale particles can produce more nucleation sites during the solidification of the liquid steel. Tensile properties and fracture morphology reveal that the yield strength and toughness of the steel modified by nanostructured Fe-V-Nb modificators are better than that of the microalloyed steel. TEM analysis shows that vanadium and niobium in the modificators exist in the form of (V, Nb) C which effectively increases the nucleation rate and leads to better mechanical properties of the steel.
