Agent-based Intrusion Detection For Network-based Application

Abstract: Now days, different kinds of IDS systems are available for serving in the network distributed system, but these systems mainly concentrate on network-based and host-based detection. It is inconvenient to integrate these systems into distributed application servers for application-based intrusion detection. An agent-based IDS that can be smoothly integrated into the applications of enterprise information systems is proposed in this paper and we discuss the system architecture, agent structure, and integration mechanism. Our IDS system consists of three kinds of agents, namely, client agent, server agent and communication agent. This paper also explains how to integrate agents with an access control model for getting better security performance. By introducing standard protocols such as KQML, IDMEF into the design of agent, our agent-based IDS shows how to build more flexible software applications.

Abstract: A new monsoon index, the dynamical normalized seasonality (DNS), is introduced to study the issue of monsoons. This DNS index can describe both seasonal variation and interannual variability of different monsoon regions. It can also be used to delimit the geographical distribution of the global monsoon systems. Furthermore, it is pointed out that the index is very useful for understanding deeply the monsoons to study the difference, relationship, and interactions among the classical monsoon, ordinary monsoon and monsoon-like system.

Abstract: This paper presents a new design method for implementing the pre-compensator constant matrix of decoupling of a multivariable system. The method evolves a complex constant matrix C from the transfer function matrix G(s), then it calculates precompensating matrix K_P bvmatrix C. The basic principle is discussed and an example is illustrated. The results are satisfactory.

An Approach to the Design of Positive Real Reduced-Order Controllers

Abstract: The problem to design reduced_order positive real (PR) controller with order not greater than that of generalized plants is studied based on LMI for both continuous and discrete time plants. By analyzing the problem for first order plants, it is illustrated that generalized plant order is an achievable upper bound of PR controllers with minimal order for general PR control problem. Hence, the existence of reduced_order PR controllers depends on special plants structure parameters. Moreover, a new upper bound of order for reduced_order PR controllers is proposed, and the bound is not greater than the previous one. Furthermore, an algorithm to construct the controllers can be obtained due to the constructive proofs. Simple example is also given to show the approach is practicable.

Personalized Knowledge Acquisition through Interactive Data Analysis in E-learning System

Abstract: Personalized knowledge acquisition is very important for promoting learning efficiency within E-learning system. To achieve this, two key problems involved are acquiring user’s knowledge requirements and discovering the people that can meet the requirements. In this paper, we present two approaches to realize personalized knowledge acquisition. The first approach aims to mine what knowledge the student requires and to what degree. All the interactive logs, accumulated during question answering process, are taken into account to compute each student’s knowledge requirement. The second approach is to construct and analyze user network based on the interactive data, which aims to find potential contributors list. Each student’s potential contributors may satisfy his/her requirement timely and accurately. Then we design an experiment to implement the two approaches. In order to evaluate the performance of our approaches, we make an evaluation with the percentage of satisfying recommendations. The evaluation results show that our approaches can help each student acquire the knowledge that he/she requires efficiently.

Abstract: 理性分析和利用NCEP/NCAR资料进行统计分析表明:大气环流的季节变化和越赤道气流即两半球的相互作用首先是由于赤道面与黄道面有交角而使太阳辐射有年变化所致,行星热对流环流是热带季风的"第一推动力",而地表面特性差异(海陆热力特性差异以及地形高度等)所导致的准定常行星波为"第二推动力".如以推动大气质量跨纬圈传输的效力来看,平均来说二推动力的功效之比为2:l.第二推动力在亚澳季风区与第一推动力合拍,使热带季风在亚澳区内最明显,而各经圈环流圈的上下及南北关联及与中高纬准定常行星波的配置则使全球范围内从低纬到高纬、从低空到高空有地域性的明显季节变化区,从而构成三度空间的全球季风系统.
Improved Quantum-Behaved Particle Swarm Optimization  [PDF]

Abstract: To enhance the performance of quantum-behaved PSO, some improvements are proposed. First, an encoding method based on the Bloch sphere is presented. In this method, each particle carries three groups of Bloch coordinates of qubits, and these coordinates are actually the approximate solutions. The particles are updated by rotating qubits about an axis on the Bloch sphere, which can simultaneously adjust two parameters of qubits, and can automatically achieve the best matching of two adjustments. The optimization process is employed in the n-dimensional space [-1, 1]n, so this approach fits to many optimization problems. The experimental results show that this algorithm is superior to the original quantum-behaved PSO.

Abstract: In this paper, a novel neural network is proposed based on quantum rotation gate and controlled- NOT gate. Both the input layer and the hide layer are quantum-inspired neurons. The input is given by qubits, and the output is the probability of qubit in the state . By employing the gradient descent method, a training algorithm is introduced. The experimental results show that this model is superior to the common BP networks.
