Mathematical Problems in Engineering , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/570834
Abstract: This paper is concerned with stability analysis for singular systems with interval time-varying delay. By constructing a novel Lyapunov functional combined with reciprocally convex approach and linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, improved delay-dependent stability criteria for the considered systems to be regular, impulse free, and stable are established. The developed results have advantages over some previous ones as they involve fewer decision variables yet less conservatism. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed stability results. 1. Introduction It is well known that time delays frequently occur in many practical systems, such as biological systems, chemical systems, electronic systems, and network control systems. The time delays are regarded as the major source of oscillation, instability, and poor performance of dynamic systems. During the last two decades, there has been some remarkable theoretical and practical progress in stability, stabilization, and robust control of linear time-delay systems [1, 2]. Currently, the results of stability for time-delay systems mainly focus on time-varying delay with range zero to an upper bound. However, in practice, the delay range may have a nonzero lower bound, and such systems are referred to interval time-varying delay systems. Typical examples for interval time-delay systems are networked control systems [3]. With rapid advancement in the networked control systems technology, a number of significant results have been reported in the recent past for the stability of interval time-delay systems [3–14]. For example, in [3], a discretized Lyapunov functional approach is employed to obtain stability criteria for linear uncertain systems with interval time-varying delays. By using free-weighting matrices, [4, 5] present some less conservative stability conditions. The free-weighting matrices method was further improved in [6, 7] by constructing augmented Lyapunov functionals. The free-weighting matrices method is regarded as an effective way to reduce the conservatism of the stability results; however, one chief shortcoming is that too many free-weighting matrices introduced in the theoretical derivation sometimes cannot reduce the conservatism of the obtained results, on the contrary, they make criteria mathematically complex and computationally less effective. In [8, 9], via different Lyapunov functionals with fewer matrix variables whose derivative is estimated using Jensen inequality, some simple stability criteria were obtained, these results were improved

Abstract: Based on the research articles about the strategic emerging industries in China of Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) on http://www.cnki.net/ from 2010 to 2014, we analyze the research literature from quantitative and qualitative perspective and prospect the future research directions of the strategic emerging industries in China. The research data shows that the studies on strategic emerging industries in China have developed rapidly these years, the high-level research results are increasingly abundant, but some problems should be further studied. And we believe that the researchers should focus on the empirical studies based on the development of the practices, and make efforts to construct a whole systematic research framework and pay more attention to the studies on strategic human resources.

Lujian Zheng, Jianmin Wang
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2018.83048
Abstract: Socioeconomic development has intensified inter-enterprise competition and made human resource exploitation extremely important for all enterprises. As a major part of the market economy, private enterprises play an increasingly important role. Staff training, a key step of human resource development, is critical for improving individual performances and overall corporate performance & yield. However, the staff training of medium- and small-sized private enterprises is faced by many problems that restrict the training efficacy. To further diagnose the training-related problems faced by medium- and small-sized private enterprises, here the author analyzed the current situations of staff training in M and identified the problems. Together with relevant knowledge and theories, the author analyzed underlying causes and proposed appropriate suggestions, aiming to provide some references and guidance for improving the training system of M.

Abstract: In this paper we deal with a cubic near-Hamiltonian system whose unperturbed system is a simple cubic Hamiltonian system having a nilpotent center. We prove that the system can have 5 limit cycles by using bifurcation theory.
Study of Informative Advertising Competition Model in Duopolistic Market with Relative Profit Object  [PDF]
Jiao Lu
Journal of Service Science and Management (JSSM) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jssm.2017.102009
Abstract:
To study how the relative profit object influences duopolistic retailers’ advertising decisions, this paper adds the relative profit object on the Hotelling Model to study its influence on advertising decisions. Through the calculation and analysis of the advertising competition model, we found that the balanced advertising level and product price is positively related to product differentiation level. The relationship between balanced profit and product differentiation level is related to the range of each variable. The balanced product price is positively related to advertising cost, while the balanced advertising level and profit is negatively related to advertising cost. The balanced product price, advertising level and profit are negatively related to relative profit ratio. Commonly, the higher the relative object ratio, the advertising level should be higher. This paper gets the opposite conclusion. Through analysis and discussion, we found that this is mainly influenced by the advertising cost level. As in this paper the advertising cost level is restricted to be high, enterprises will choose to raise price for more profit and lower advertising level to reduce cost while the relative profit ratio increases.
Are Mispricings Long-Lasting or Short-Lived? Evidence from S & P 500 Index ETF Options  [PDF]
Feng Jiao
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2018.83027
Abstract: A rapidly growing literature has documented evidences suggesting the mispricing of options. Building on recent results of option pricing bounds imposed by stochastic dominance, this paper examines the time-series proprieties of such mispricing. In an application to high-frequency bid/ask quotes of S & P 500 index ETF options, this paper provides evidences that most violations of the stochastic dominance bounds last no more than 10 trading hours. The typical duration of mispricing is even shorter for near to maturity options. The results imply that the observed widespread mispricing in options might be the result of temporary inefficiency (e.g. transaction costs, overreaction, liquidity etc.) rather than a model misspecification, such as estimation biases of the parameters, or an overlooked persistent risk factor.

Abstract: Brand equity is an important object of study in the field of marketing and consumer psychology. This paper proceeds from the three constituent elements of brand equity, and taking “Xiang Piao Piao” brand as an example, expounds the role of these factors such as brand awareness, perceived quality, brand preferences resulting from consumer subjective factors in enhancing the value of brand equity. Combining the information from “Xiang Piao Piao Foods Co., Ltd. initial public offering of shares and listing prospectus” published by China Securities Regulatory Commission, this paper analyzes the important role of brand equity for promoting the development of enterprise.
How Institutional Distance and International Experience Affect the Success or Failure of Foreign Direct Investment by Chinese Enterprises?  [PDF]
Jiao Yang
American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2019.93035
Abstract:
With the sample of 2571 foreign direct investment of multinational enterprises in China from 2005 to 2016, the Logit model is used in this paper to empirically test the influence of host country system differences and international experience on the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises. Our empirical findings are: the greater the difference in institutional distance (whether positive or negative), the larger the possibility that foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises will fail, that is, the institutional distance is featured by “symmetric effect” on the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises; as a “distance bridging” variable, international experience has regulatory effect that weakens the negative effect of institutional distance on Chinese enterprises’ overseas direct investment success rate in the negative institutional distance, but has no regulating effect in the positive institutional distance, which is featured by “asymmetric effect”; the adjustment of institutional distance to the success or failure of foreign direct investment by Chinese enterprises has industry characteristics. When Chinese enterprises directly invest in “sensitive” industries, the adjustment effect of international experience on the relationship between negative institutional distance and investment success or failure is less obvious than that in “non-sensitive” industries. In addition, the sample data of foreign investment by China’s multinational corporation in the “Belt and Road” countries are examined, which is consistent with conclusions. The research results also show that the host country’s dependence on trade, infrastructure and strategic resources are all important factors affecting the success or failure of foreign direct investment of Chinese multinational enterprises. According to the above conclusions, some suggestions and countermeasures are proposed in this paper.

Abstract: It has been reported that decreased Dicer expression leads to Alu RNAs accumulation in human retinal pigmented epithelium cells, and Dicer may process the endogenous SINE/B1 RNAs (the rodent equivalent of the primate Alu RNAs) into small interfering RNAs (siRNAs). In this study, we aimed to address whether Dicer can process Alu RNAs and their common ancestor, 7SL RNA. Using Solexa sequencing technology, we showed that Alu-derived small RNAs accounted for 0.6% of the total cellular small RNAs in HepG2.2.15 cells, and the abundance decreased when Dicer was knocked down. However, Alu-derived small RNAs showed different characteristics from miRNAs and siRNAs, the classic Dicer-processed products. Interestingly, we found that small RNAs derived from 7SL RNA accounted for 3.1% of the total cellular small RNAs in the control cells, and the abundance dropped about 3.4 folds in Dicer knockdown cells. Dicer-dependent biogenesis of 7SL RNA-derived small RNAs was validated by northern blotting. In vitro cleavage assay using the recombinant human Dicer protein also showed that synthetic 7SL RNA was processed by Dicer into fragments of different lengths. Further functional analysis suggested that 7SL RNA-derived small RNAs do not function like miRNAs, neither do they regulate the expression of 7SL RNA. In conclusion, the current study demonstrated that Dicer can process 7SL RNA, however, the biological significance remains to be elucidated.
