Investigation of the polysilicon p--i--n diode and diode string as a process compatible and portable ESD protection device

Abstract: The polysilicon p-i-n diode displayed noticeable process-compatibility and portability in advance technologies as ESD protection device. The paper presented reverse breakdown, current leakage and capacitance characteristics for the fabricated polysilicon p-i-n diode. To evaluate ESD robustness forward and reverse TLP I-V characteristics were measured also. Besides polysilicon p-i-n diode string was investigated to further reduce capacitance and fulfill the requirements of tunable cut-in or reverse breakdown voltage. To explain the effects of device parameter, analysis and discussion about the inherent properties of polysilicon p-i-n diode were processed finally.
Serum Lipoprotein(a) Positively Correlates with Coronary Artery Calcification in Low-Risk Chinese Han Patients: A Study from a Single Center

Abstract: Background Elevated plasma levels of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) and a higher degree of coronary artery calcification (CAC) are both considered to be risk factors for atherosclerosis. However, previous studies have demonstrated that the relationship between Lp(a) levels and the degree of CAC indicates significant heterogeneity that may be due to varying ethnicities. The purpose of this study was to examine the predictive power of Lp(a) for CAC as measured by multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) in the Han ethnic group of China. Methods A total of 1082 subjects were recruited in this study. The patients were divided into four groups: patients without hypertension or diabetes were group 1, patients with hypertension were group 2, patients with diabetes were group 3 and patients with both hypertension and diabetes were group 4. CAC score (CACs), lipid profiles (Lp(a), LDL, HDL, TG, TC), HbA1C, glucose, personal health history and body morphology were measured in all participants. The predictive power of Lp(a) for calcified atherosclerotic plaque was determined by correlations and ordinal logistic regression. Results There was no significant difference in the CACs between group 2 and group 3 (z = 1.790, p = 0.736), and there were significant differences among the other groups. However, there was no significant difference in the total Lp(a) among the 4 groups (χ2 = 0.649, p = 0.885). Only In group 1, Lp(a) was a statistically significant predictor of the presence of calcified coronary plaque using ordinal logistic regression. Conclusions Levels of Lp(a) positively correlate with CACs among Chinese Han people who are without diabetes and hypertension, suggesting that Lp(a) may be an important risk factor for the presence of calcified atheromas.

Abstract: This paper presents the investigation of integrated electro-static discharge (ESD) protection design for the gate oxide of an RF-LDMOS (radio frequency lateral double diffusion MOS). Through a comprehensive discussion of experimental and simulated results, a cascoded NMOS is presented as appropriate integrated gate oxide ESD protection with a high holding voltage and a flexible ESD design window.

Identification and Functional Analysis of Flowering Related microRNAs in Common Wild Rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.)

Abstract: Background MicroRNAs (miRNAs) is a class of non-coding RNAs involved in post- transcriptional control of gene expression, via degradation and/or translational inhibition. Six-hundred sixty-one rice miRNAs are known that are important in plant development. However, flowering-related miRNAs have not been characterized in Oryza rufipogon Griff. It was approved by supervision department of Guangdong wild rice protection. We analyzed flowering-related miRNAs in O. rufipogon using high-throughput sequencing (deep sequencing) to understand the changes that occurred during rice domestication, and to elucidate their functions in flowering. Results Three O. rufipogon sRNA libraries, two vegetative stage (CWR-V1 and CWR-V2) and one flowering stage (CWR-F2) were sequenced using Illumina deep sequencing. A total of 20,156,098, 21,531,511 and 20,995,942 high quality sRNA reads were obtained from CWR-V1, CWR-V2 and CWR-F2, respectively, of which 3,448,185, 4,265,048 and 2,833,527 reads matched known miRNAs. We identified 512 known rice miRNAs in 214 miRNA families and predicted 290 new miRNAs. Targeted functional annotation, GO and KEGG pathway analyses predicted that 187 miRNAs regulate expression of flowering-related genes. Differential expression analysis of flowering-related miRNAs showed that: expression of 95 miRNAs varied significantly between the libraries, 66 are flowering-related miRNAs, such as oru-miR97, oru-miR117, oru-miR135, oru-miR137, et al. 17 are early-flowering -related miRNAs, including osa-miR160f, osa-miR164d, osa-miR167d, osa-miR169a, osa-miR172b, oru-miR4, et al., induced during the floral transition. Real-time PCR revealed the same expression patterns as deep sequencing. miRNAs targets were confirmed for cleavage by 5′-RACE in vivo, and were negatively regulated by miRNAs. Conclusions This is the first investigation of flowering miRNAs in wild rice. The result indicates that variation in miRNAs occurred during rice domestication and lays a foundation for further study of phase change and flowering in O. rufipogon. Complicated regulatory networks mediated by multiple miRNAs regulate the expression of flowering genes that control the induction of flowering.

Abstract: In this paper, we test the null hypothesis that the prices of stock index futures of China follow a random-walk process. Five hypothesis tests are applied to test the random-walk hypothesis (RWH). Each test uses both inter-day and intra-day returns. Compared with inter-day analysis, test results on intra-day data can describe the movements of intra-day markets more effectively, because intra-day analysis eliminates overnight news propagation, thus generating more precise conclusions on the intra-day market for intra-day traders. Three out of the five tests reject the RWH, whereas the other two cannot reject the RWH. Overall, the market is not fully efficient.
Hierarchical Model and Evaluation Method for Autonomy Levels of Unmanned Platforms

Abstract: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In order to evaluate the autonomy levels of Unmanned Platforms, A new hierarchical model for autonomy levels of unmanned platforms and a new evaluation method are provided. Firstly, human interface, situational awareness, environmental adaptation and decision-making of an unmanned platform are determined as four indicators applied to evaluate the autonomy levels. Secondly, evaluation method is used to quantify the four indicators. Finally, the average of the four indicators is the value on behalf of the autonomy level. The new model has been applied to judge the autonomy level of Global Hawk USA, Red FlagHQ3 UGV and Spartan Scout USV. The results show that the four indicators are comprehensive and visualized, and the evaluation method is simple.
Diagonal Form of the Varchenko Matrices of Oriented Matroids

Abstract: Varchenko defined the Varchenko matrix associated to any real hyperplane arrangement and computed its determinant. The definition extends straightforwardly to oriented matroids. Here we will show by explicit construction and proof by contradiction that the Varchenko matrix of an oriented matroid has a diagonal form if and only if it has no degeneracy.
