A Neural Fuzzy System for Vibration Control in Flexible Structures  [PDF]

Abstract: An adaptive neural fuzzy (NF) controller is developed in this paper for active vibration suppression in flexible structures. A recurrent identification network (RIN) is developed to adaptively identify system dynamics of the plant. A novel recurrent training (RT) technique is suggested to train the RIN so as to optimize nonlinear input-output mapping and to enhance convergence. The effectiveness of the developed controller and the related techniques has been verified experimentally corresponding to different control scenarios. Test results show that the proposed RIN can effectively recognize the time-varying dynamics of the plant. The RT-based hybrid training technique can improve the adaptive capability of the control system to accommodate different system conditions and enhance the training convergence. The developed NF controller is a robust and stable vibration suppression system, and it outperforms other related NF controllers.

Abstract: China’s commercial banks are confronted with fierce competition from advanced big commercial banks abroad, which have much better performance in non-performing loans (NPLs) than China’s commercial banks. In this case, efficiency rating and ranking of China’s commercial banks are of great importance. We treat the rate of non-performing loans (NPLs) as an undesirable output from the operating process of commercial bank and utilize cross efficiency of DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis) to evaluate and rank China’s commercial banks between 2006 and 2008 horizontally and vertically. In the end we will propose our conclusion.

The Research of Event Detection and Characterization Technology of Ticket Gate in the Urban Rapid Rail Transit  [PDF]

Abstract: Making events recognition more reliable under complex environment is one of the most important challenges for the intelligent recognition system to the ticket gate in the urban rapid rail transit. The motion objects passing through the ticket gate could be described as a series of moving sequences got by sensors that located in the walkway side of the ticket gate. This paper presents a robust method to detect some classes of events of ticket gate in the urban rapid rail transit. Diffused reflectance infrared sensors are used to collect signals. In this paper, the motion objects are here referred to passenger(s) or (and) luggage(s), for which are of frequent occurrences in the ticket gate of the urban railway traffic. Specifically, this paper makes two main contributions: 1) The proposed recognition method could be used to identify several events, including the event of one person passing through the ticket gate, the event of two consecutive passengers passing through the ticket gate without a big gap between them, and the event of a passenger walking through the ticket gate pulling a suitcase; 2) The moving time sequence matrix is transformed into a one-dimensional vector as the feature descriptor. Deep learning (DL), back propagation neural network (BP), and support vector machine (SVM) are applied to recognize the events respectively. BP has been proved to have a higher recognition rate compared to other methods. In order to implement the three algorithms, a data set is built which includes 150 samples of all kinds of events from the practical tests. Experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Abstract: A novel flotation froth image segmentation based on threshold level set method is put forward in view of the problem of over-segmentation and under-segmentation which occurs when the existing method segmented the flotation froth images. Firstly, the proposed method adopts histogram equalization to improve the contrast of the image, and then chooses the upper threshold and lower threshold from grey value of histogram of the image equalization, and complete image segmentation using the level set method. In this paper, the model which integrates edge with region level set model is utilized, and the speed energy term is introduced to segment the target. Experimental results show that the proposed method has better segmentation results and higher segmentation efficiency on the images with under-segmentation and incorrect segmentation, and it is meaningful for ore dressing industrial.
Climate Suitability and Vulnerability of Winter Wheat Planting in Gansu under the Background of Global Warming  [PDF]

Abstract: Winter wheat is the main food crop in China. Gansu Province is a traditional winter wheat growing area, and its planting range is limited by the thermal conditions of winter. The average temperature in Gansu Province increased by 0.28°C per decade, higher than the China’s and global average, and the warming in winter was more obvious. Therefore, it is necessary to study the climate suitability and vulnerability of winter wheat planting in Gansu. In this paper, the maximum entropy model Maxent and Arcgis software are used to select six major climatic factors including annual total radiation, annual precipitation, the warmest monthly average temperature, the coldest monthly average temperature, annual average temperature, and annual extreme minimum temperature, which construct winter wheat planting distribution-climate relationship model that studies the climate suitability and vulnerability of winter wheat during the period 1961-2015. Studies have shown that the average cold weather and annual extreme minimum temperature are the most important climatic factors affecting winter wheat in Gansu, which can reflect the low temperature conditions that winter wheat can tolerate. However, the main winter wheat planting areas in Gansu Province are distributed in arid and semi-arid rain-fed agriculture areas. Precipitation and total annual radiation are also very important constraints. At the same time, climate change has little effect on winter wheat in Gansu Province, and the area of suitable area fluctuates slightly. It shows moderate adaptation in each evaluation period.

Abstract: a series of studies has been carried out in the field of traditional medicine for searching radio-protective agents. according to the theory of traditional chinese medicine, may prescriptions were tested with experimental animals. some of them could raise the survival rate of dogs irradiated with lethal dose of pi-rays by 30-40%. some symptoms of radiation sickness could be improved. more than one thousand kinds of chinese herbs were screened. some of them have pronounced radioprotectice activities. a series of bioactive components wee isolated from these herbs. the mechanism of radiation protection were studied. having the capability of hemopoietic system and immune system may be the characteristics of these chinese herbs.
Pleonaste in Boxian meteorite

Abstract: There are three kinds of occurrence of pleonaste, a rare meteoritic mineral, totally found in Boxian meteorite. They are as the following: (i) occurring in the inner circle of the chondrule edge, of which a circle texture is composed; (ii) occurring in the state of inclusions, included in an olivine chondrule, with close paragenesis of wadsleyite; (iii) occurring in the state of porphyry. The chondrule in the first occurrence belongs to CA chondrules. The chemical compositions of pleonaste are heterogeneity except for the atomic ratios of Fe/(Mg+ Fe), which can be attributed to the following reasons: (i) they are congenetic minerals; (ii) the heterogeneity of the compositions of the solar clouds in the early states; (iii) the chondrites are the multiple-stage evolution; (iv) the further proof of Boxian meteorite is an unequilibrium common chondrite.

Abstract: A difference scheme with four conservation properties for solving the spherical barotropic shallow water equations is constructed, based on a proper formulae of the equations and a skillful correction on the spatial difference parts of the semi-discrete equations with which the number of the conservation properties of these equations is increased from three to four. Numerical tests are included, and good results are achieved in this study.

The importance of lowering blood pressure for reducing the risk of stroke is well established. However, not all the benefits of antihypertensive treatments in stroke can be accounted for by reductions in BP and there may be differences between antihypertensive classes as to which provides optimal protection. Dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers, such as amlodipine, and angiotensin receptor blockers, such as valsartan, represent the two antihypertensive drug classes with the strongest supportive data for the prevention of stroke. Therefore, when combination therapy is required, a combination of these two antihypertensive classes represents a logical approach.
