Still on the Tracks of the Congo Clawless Otter (Aonyx congicus): First Mission in Cameroon
Alary F.,Moutou F.,Jaques H.
IUCN Otter Specialist Group Bulletin , 2002,
Abstract: 15 day first-step mission was undertaken in Cameroon during February 2002. The purpose of this prospective trip was, first of all, to raise interest amongst wildlife institutions (Governmental and NGOs) concerning the 3 species of otters supposed to inhabit this country. The same kind of work has been initiated in Western African countries such as Togo, Burkina-Faso, Benin and Niger. This will allow the institution of a network around the French speaking part of Africa, in order to collect information on distribution, status and threats as regards otters.
On the Tracks of the Congo Clawless Otter (Aonyx congicus) in Gabon.
Jaques H.,Moutou F.,Alary F.
IUCN Otter Specialist Group Bulletin , 2002,
Abstract: The distribution and status of the Congo clawless otter (Aonyx congicus) has yet to be assessed in the rainforests of central Africa where the species is said to occur. No study had been conducted up to now, probably due to the remoteness of these areas. A 15 day mission (July 2001: St Anne), followed by a further 4 weeks mission (January 2002: Setté Cama, Lopé reserve, Langoué ba ) to Gabon, allowed us to gather information on A. congicus, to see the animal and many tracks, and to begin to form a network to get information not only in Gabon but also from the rest of central Africa. A. congicus seems to thrive in the virgin tropical rainforests of the interior, the main threat being hunting for bush meat, mainly in southern Cameroon but also, apparently, on a smaller scale in Gabon.
Organiza??o empresarial em Alfred Marshall
Kerstenetzky, Jaques;
Estudos Econ?micos (S?o Paulo) , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-41612004000200006
Abstract: we can find in marshall’s works an approach to business environments that is different from his traditionally accepted contribution to mainstream economics. though marshall is indeed the founder of the partial equilibrium analysis branch of traditional microeconomics, his work on the theme of business is much richer than his specific contribution to microeconomics. the article explores marshall's institutional and historical analysis of firms, markets and of business environments. as an outcome, it suggests that marshall can be pointed out as a forerunner of modern approaches to the theme, like berle and means’s and chandler’s works on corporations, and the capabilities approach to the theory of the firm.
Coordena??o como um tema histórico-institucional: discuss?o de duas experiências históricas
Kerstenetzky, Jaques;
Revista Brasileira de Economia , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0034-71402001000300003
Abstract: this paper discusses firms and markets in 19th century england and early 20th century united states with a view to highlighting the role played by institutional and historical arrangements in the entrepreneurial activity. in this light, markets and firms are structured according to historical patterns that represent solutions for the coordination problem, with specific institutional arrangements canalizing and restricting actions. institutional structures are present as entrepreneurial environments rather than mere arrangements between two or more firms. institutional solutions are located in time and space. the discussion stresses the major importance of the institutional environment as far as the coordination of economic activity is concerned.

The case for case studies: Optimising the use of communication cases
Tony Jaques
PRism Online PR Journal , 2009,
Abstract: Case studies are widely used by communication and public relations practitioners and educators. Yet, despite their extensive use, the question should be asked whether public relations case studies are applied in the best possible way. Many tertiary education institutions are moving away from case study analysis as a discrete subject and instead adopting a ‘case study approach’ across the communication curriculum. This paper explores the merits of different styles of the case method and the reference materials available, and concludes that formalised analysis of case studies is essential to fully optimise their application.
