Abstract: this study investigated the immunodetection of ptch in epithelial components of dental follicles associated with impacted third molars without radiographic signs of pathosis. one hundred and five specimens of dental follicles associated with impacted third molars with incomplete rhizogenesis (between nolla's stage 6 and 9) were surgically removed from 56 patients. epithelial cell proliferation was determined by using immunohistochemical labeling. statistical analysis was performed using fisher exact test and a level of significance of 5%. of the 105 dental follicles collected, 3 were ptch-positive. the specimens with squamous metaplasia and epithelial hyperplasia had higher rates of positivity for ptch, as well as those with active remnants of odontogenic epithelium. this study suggests that the odontogenic cells of the dental follicle might be proliferating during the rhizogenesis, while the squamous metaplasia and hyperplasia of the epithelial lining and proliferative odontogenic epithelial rests show the differentiation potential of dental follicles.

Abstract: The evaluation of the quality of the water used for irrigation in agriculture is of great importance for the environmentand human health. The continuous use of contaminated water causes pollution to soil and cultivated crops, causing variousdiseases associated with consumption of contaminated vegetables. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the qualityof irrigation water of three water bodies: artesian wells, cacimbas (kind of graves that collect water from swampy lands) andstreams, used in the Nova Esperan a Agricultural Community, located between a peripheral urban area and a native forestin Manaus - AM. Potentially toxic metals (PTM): Cd, Cu, Co, Fe, Ni, Mn and Zn were evaluated using atomic absorptionspectrometry by flame and bacteriological analyses (total and faecal coliforms) by filter membrane method. The results showedhigh levels of total and faecal coliforms, 89,3% in water samples collected in the three water bodies, as well as high levels of TPM, especially Cd and Pb extremely toxic. Statistical tests showed the influence of the seasonal period on the average concentrations of the PTM and there is not meaning difference of these contaminants on the different water bodies during the period of this study.

Abstract: This work aims to analyze the essential tools for the management of the ICMS (Value-Added Tax on Sales and Services). It was developed a calculation proce-dure of this tax which permits to demonstrate the importance of correctly perform fiscal and accounting entries. In order to demonstrate this calculation procedure, it was used Financial Mathematics concepts of simple interest and simple trade discount together with article 33, 1989 of ICMS Law of the State of S o Paulo. It was concluded that it is essential to have a precise ICMS tributary administration, in order to firstly avoid contentious administrative tributary which would imply ad-ditional and unnecessary costs to the organization and secondly to use tax evasion correctly in order to avoid excessive taxes payment. Thus, the appropriate use of both instruments will reflect into a positive cash flow for the organization.
