Abstract: Two new phenolic glycosides characterized as o-methoxycatechol-O-β-D- glucopyranoside and o-cresol-O-α–D-glucopyranoside have been isolated from the flowers of Salix caprea L. (Salicaceae) along with the known compounds n- tritetracontane, 4'–methoxyapigenin-7-glucoside and 4-methoxyluteolin-7- glucoside. The structures of all the phytoconstituents have been elucidated on the basis of spectral data analysis and chemical reactions.

Abstract: One new triterpene glycoside characterized as lanastan–3β–yl–glucuronopyranosyl–(6 1 )–glucuronopyranoside has been isolated from the flowers of Punica granatum L. (Punicaceae) along with oleanolic acid acetate, n-triacontane, n-henetriacontane, tetratriacontane, n-tetracontane, 3- epi-α-amyrin, lanostenyl glucoside, β-sitosterol glycoside, trixyloside and hydroxynaphthoquinone as the known compounds . The structures of all the phytoconstituents have been elucidated on the basis of spectral data analysis and chemical reactions.

Abstract: Salix caprea.L. (Salicaceae), commonly called Bede-mushk, is a shrub growing in Iran, Kashmir, north-western Himalayas and Punjab. The plant has been used in traditional system of medicine as antioxidant, antifungal, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, hemolysis and nephroprotective drug.

Abstract: In Indian traditional system of medicine, herbal remedies are prescribed for the treatment of various diseases including liver diseases. The present study was aimed to investigate the hepatoprotective activity of the ethanolic extract of Althaea officinalis against Carbon tetrachloride induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Liver function were assessed by the determination of SGPT and SGOT studies. The serum biochemical analysis results suggested that the use of ethanolic extract of Althaea officinalis exhibited significant protective effect from hepatic damage in CCl4 induced hepatotoxicity model.

Abstract: Two new phenolic compound and one new acid ester characterized as 3,4 –dihydroxy benzyl octadecane, 24β, 28β -dihydroxy octa tetracont – 36 – en – 1- oic – acid and 5 β, 13 β -dihydroxynonacosanyl godoleate have been isolated from the roots of Althaea officinalis L. (Malvaceae) along with the known compounds n –triacontanoic acid, n-tetracosane, n –pentatriacontane and althealanostenoic acid glucoside. The structures of all the phytoconstituents have been elucidated on the basis of spectral data analysis and chemical reactions.

Abstract:

The present study deals with the assessment of physico-chemical characteristics of Dokan, Derbendikhan and Duhok lakes. The physico-chemical characteristics of these lakes have been studied and analyzed for a year, during January-April-July and October 2009. Seasonal variations of two sampling sites of the lakes have been observed. Various parameters including air temperature, water temperature, electrical conductivity, TDS, pH, total alkalinity, total hardness, dissolved oxygen, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, sulfate, chloride, nitrite and phosphate have been analyzed. The study has revealed that there are significant seasonal variations in some physico-chemical parameters and as a whole most of the parameters are different in the three lakes.

Abstract: Sound Recognition becomes an important tool for intrusion detection or for the monitoring of public premises exposed to personal hostility. It could further identify different sounds. The main idea of the sound recognition process in a security system is to store samples of different sound signals in the memory of the computer as references,?and?to be analyzed with respect to their frequencies components. In this paper, the sound signal of an unknown source would be analyzed and compared with all the available reference samples,?and?then recognition is made according to the closest sample. The developed security system consists of two main parts: the spectrum analyzer that converts the sound signal to spectrograms. It is designed based on the real-time analyzes, and the recognizer which compares the spectrograms and gives the decision of the recognition by using a special criterion. Experimental results prove that the accuracy of the proposed system can be 98.33% for the selected sample of signals.

Abstract: Objective: To determine the number, size, somatotopy and segmental distribution of HRP labeledmotor and sensory neurons forming sciatic nerve in albino rat by using HRP technique. To fined out the distribution ofneurons in sciatic nerve in albino rat in spinal cord from L3S1. The average number, size and segmental distribution ofmotor and sensory neurons were localized by HRP method of tracing neuronal connections. The motor neurons formingSCN ranged 10-60 microns and extended between the caudal part of L3 and rostral part of SI spinal segment. Theyoccupied PPL, PL, C and aL subgroups. The peak frequency distribution of motor neurons was observed in L4-L6spinal segment in SCN. The labeled sensory neurons whose peripheral process run in SCN were localized in L3-S1ipsilateral Dorsal Root Ganglia (DRG). No somatotopic organization of the cells was found in the DRG. The cells weredistributed throughout the ganglia without forming groups. The somal diameters of sensory neurons forming SCNmeasured between 14-58 microns.
